Almost everything I say strikes you as inappropriate, which to me smacks of an unexplained personal vendetta. -- Sca (talk) 12:48, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have always believed that oppose !votes must refer to issues that are covered by the criteria. Basing them solely on personal criteria, such as "the image itself contains text that is illegible to most users", does not help create positive communication between community members and scares off newer ones.
- That you are reading a personal vendetta in my response speaks more of you than of me; had any other user opposed a file because of the language depicted in the media , I would have responded the same way. If you have a rationale that is based on the criteria, feel free to include it on the nomination page.
- Personally, I think comments (and opposes) like this are right on point, as would be a comment that provides constructive feedback to the nominator. Even if users disagree, such comments can contribute to further discussion. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 02:33, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I've reviewed the FP nominations for the past two months. This is the only one where I've called you out; you were also called out at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Human karyotype by several users when you made a similar oppose !vote. As for the other nominations, I've explicitly agreed with you, entirely bypassed nominations because I agreed with input from you and other users, !voted differently without making reference to your comment, or !voted differently while indicating that I disagreed with your assessment (i.e., talking to the point, rather than the person). I don't think that reaches the level of "almost everything [you] say" striking me as inappropriate. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 02:48, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Looks like you win: Your 272 words clearly overwhelm my 25 words. Congrats. -- Sca (talk) 13:07, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- If that's your takeaway, you've proven my point. Have a nice day. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 20:09, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

TFL notification
Hi, Crisco 1492. I'm just posting to let you know that List of films of the Dutch East Indies – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for April 24. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 20:39, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
You're back...
I don't come around very often anymore. Perhaps I will... Godot13 (talk) 21:05, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- I don't blame you for ducking out. Probably the only reason I came back was the sucker in me wanting to upload pictures. I still haven't made the jump to writing again. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 20:50, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
Bandit's Roost
Took me long enough, though I can guess why: All those subtle scratches were a pain for me now, and when I asked you about it 8 years ago, it was probably beyond me. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 8.3% of all FPs. Currently celebrating his 600th FP! 08:53, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- To be honest, I forget ever mentioning this, but I do seem to have uploaded the unrestored one. I can see why as well - lots of fine detail near the centre of the image, as well as a very fine grain that would be tough to match up. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 09:55, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- Well, it's been a very long time, and I think I asked you for a number of image downloads back then. Have never really had that powerful of computers. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 8.3% of all FPs. Currently celebrating his 600th FP! 10:15, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- That's entirely fair, and the software hasn't gotten any less demanding. I still digitize some materials (nothing PD), and yeah, more than 10 items scanned at 600 ppi still makes my computer wish for someone to end its suffering. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 02:14, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
