Support request with team editing experiment project
Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, The Anome. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
NHRP detaggables
So, I ended up here: User:The Anome/NHRP detaggables because of this redirect, Skeleton Cave Massacre Site. I recently created Skeleton Cave (Arizona), and when I was linking other pages to the article, I found the detaggables page. In scanning your list, I came across Work, John, House and Mill Site which I then linked to John Work House and Mill Site which has existed since 2006.
It occurred to me that there may be a number of pages already in existence, but since they are not formatted the same as what's on this page, they aren't being identified as being done. I'm trying to think on how to solve this problem. --evrik (talk)

Editing news 2023 #1
Read this in another language • Subscription list for this newsletter
This newsletter includes two key updates about the Editing team's work:
- The Editing team will finish adding new features to the Talk pages project and deploy it.
- They are beginning a new project, Edit check.
Talk pages project
The Editing team is nearly finished with this first phase of the Talk pages project. Nearly all new features are available now in the Beta Feature for Discussion tools.
It will show information about how active a discussion is, such as the date of the most recent comment. There will soon be a new "Add topic" button. You will be able to turn them off at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion. Please tell them what you think.
An A/B test for Discussion tools on the mobile site has finished. Editors were more successful with Discussion tools. The Editing team is enabling these features for all editors on the mobile site.
New Project: Edit Check
The Editing team is beginning a project to help new editors of Wikipedia. It will help people identify some problems before they click "Publish changes". The first tool will encourage people to add references when they add new content. Please watch that page for more information. You can join a conference call on 3 March 2023 to learn more.

RfD link
I really wish you hade put a link to the RfD discussion in the edit summary of your deletion of Zoroastrianism:. This allows anyone to easily know why a redirect was deleted. Veverve (talk) 21:56, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- You're right, I should have done that; my mistake. Apologies. — The Anome (talk) 22:08, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Fish
Your query made me curious and I've been looking into it as well; it doesn't make sense to me. Even when the article set is only one element long, to avoid possible inefficiencies caused by the engine not properly optimizing the query order, it takes an extended period of time.
Part of this would be due to the difficulties matching titles, but it doesn't explain why queries like this one, where I also match articles and talk pages, produce results much faster than the Fish query, even though there are more pages to match and it is just a small part of a much larger query.
If you figure it out, let me know? BilledMammal (talk) 10:52, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @BilledMammal: Yes, I have the answer now; Taavi gives it at the end of the thread; the SELECT had two columns with the same name, even though they were actually distinct within the query. Renaming one of them with AS sorted the conflict. Why this resulted in a hang, rather than an error, or even better yet, the expected correct behavior, is surely a bug, not a feature. Cyrillic letters
Hey Anome! I was scrolling through WP:AFD and noticed that you had nominated a few articles pertaining to cyrillic letters. I recall encountering a draft similar to these in which the creator (or maybe submitter) ended up being a sockpuppet. I don't remember who the master was/is at the moment, however do you think this could be a similar situation? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:35, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

Dividing a square into similar rectangles
Hi, looks like the part of the article Dividing_a_square_into_similar_rectangles#Three_rectangles is from Plastic number but I don't see the required attribution as per WP:COPYWITHIN. Could you add that as per WP:RIA? Thanks. Galobtter (pingó mió) 10:39, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
