Resource Request
Finding a source
Tips for finding a source yourself
- Send a request to the author(s) of research papers for a copy of their paper by email.
- Check what sources are available to you in The Wikipedia Library – editors active for at least six months with over 500 edits, at least 10 of them in the last month, and with no active blocks have immediate access to the Wikipedia Library Bundle.
- Available databases in the bundle include: Gale, EBSCO, JSTOR, Oxford and ProQuest
- Consider applying for access to additional Wikipedia Library sources at The Wikipedia Library Card Platform.
- Additional databases include: Newspapers.com, NewspaperARCHIVE.com, Project MUSE, Taylor & Francis and much more.
- Search for periodical titles in the Wikipedia Library database index at The Wikipedia Library/A–Z.
- Check on Google Books, or your local library or national library may be able to obtain it through an interlibrary loan or subscription.
- Search Google Scholar for archived copies of journals in institutional repositories.
- Check whether your alma mater's library offers electronic document delivery services for alumni, if applicable.
- If the article is paywalled, a browser extension may bypass the paywall. Try Unpaywall for academic journals or Bypass Paywalls Clean (Firefox, Chrome) for news websites.
Note that sites like Library Genesis (LibGen) and Sci-Hub offer direct, free access to a large range of publications, but there are legal questions around their use and neither the Wikimedia Foundation nor the Wikipedia community endorses them.

Fulfilling a request
- Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests.
- Indicate which part or parts of the request is being handled so others do not duplicate your work.
- Notify (mention) the requester using
{{ping|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}
. - You can:
- point to a pre-existing electronic document by giving its URL ( http://... )
- share scans of pages or documents using a file-sharing service, provided it is legal
- upload out of copyright works to Wikimedia Commons and/ or Wikisource (but be careful that this does not breach your own institution's policies)
- email a link or plain text to a requester using the Special:EmailUser feature but for attachments, you need to ask them to mail you first so you can reply.
Copyright tips:
- Respect copyrights and terms of services of any online services you use.
- Share content in a limited manner that is targeted at as few individuals as possible to achieve a specific improvement on Wikipedia. All content is shared under a presumed non-commercial, educational, fair use purpose in order to conduct research about topics on Wikipedia and/or to improve Wikipedia content.
- Share copies privately rather than with a publicly accessible link whenever possible. Copyrighted articles from print publications or copies obtained through online databases should not be uploaded for unrestricted distribution via open websites. For Batman Returns. I can find the text of the Empire reference online on fan sites but I can't cite page numbers that way so having the actual pages would be handy. The very generic "Film Review" publication is just not giving me any luck at all getting results.

- Thanks for inputs. Actually wish to find out 'a particular sentence' is being referred by Chaudhry from which particular book and page of reasonably large historian Ram Nath#Works, that's why I am looking for Chaudhry's bibliography.
- At page 21 historian Nazir Chaudhry is referring to another historian Ram Nath's sentence ".. absolutely improbable that the grand Mughal emperor would address his married wife as yar .." (as much I could see in google book snippet google books does not give preview for this book), some other media articles too refer to this sentence, but it is unclear from which book and page number of Ram Nath's sentence is cited.
- Nazir Chaudhry too is reasonably being referred by other authors so I will prefer to go through his presentation.

Tale type index for Armenian folktales (based on the ATU system)
The work translates roughly to "Index of Types of Armenian Folktales". The work is said to contain 48 pages, but I only need the pages in regards to types ATU 425-449 (section about the Animal as Bridegroom tales), ATU 505-508 (section about the Grateful dead (folklore)) and ATU 707 (about The Three Golden Children (folklore)).
I believe the selected sections will serve to improve articles about Armenian fairy tales, including Habrmani and The Golden-Headed Fish.

German-language Catalogue of Romanian folktales by Adolf Schullerus
- Schullerus, Adolf. Verzeichnis der rumänischen Märchen und Märchenvarianten. Folklore Fellows Communications, 1928. 99 pp.
For Romanian folklore and related articles about Romanian fairy tales.
The work is a preliminary catalogue of Romanian folktales according to the then recent revision of the international Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index (known at the time - 1928 - as AaTh). From this book, I'm requesting the section about tale type 407, "The Girl as Flower" (for The Bay-Tree Maiden); types 425-449, section about the Tierbräutigam (for Trandafiru and The Enchanted Pig), and type 707, "The Three Golden Children" (for The Boys with the Golden Stars and A String of Pearls Twined with Golden Flowers).
Adolf Schullerus 's book was translated into Romanian in 1966, and, according to some digging up, has not been updated since then, which means the original German-language version (1928) seems to be the most complete catalogue of Romanian tales.

Computer Trade Weekly
Computer Trade Weekly was a British weekly trade newspaper that covered computers and video games, spanning from 1984 to 1998. Although it was a respectable source at the time, it is notoriously difficult to find archives of on the Internet. Out of all the hundreds of issues they had ever released, I managed to find and download exactly one, although granted I might have been able to uncover a second issue had I decided to grind the search engines of Google and the Internet Archive.
For Amiga 600, I am looking for an article about the CeBIT 1992 show that mentions the Amiga 600 as one of the products being released there. This newspaper was reportedly the outlet that broke the Amiga 600 story. There is very little I know about the article. I do not know what issue the article appeared in, let alone the page numbers. Based on the issue I downloaded, it might have been #378. All I know is that it was reportedly published on March 16, 1992. I am betting that the only way I could obtain a copy of the article is from someone who has a physical copy of the issue, so if you have one, please send it. Thanks, FreeMediaKid$ 06:17, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

The New York World of April 15, 1922
Is it possible to access an article published in the New York World of April 15, 1922, entitled "Under Serb rule"?

- @TheDiaboloBoy, It is likely included in this digitization. Eddie891 Talk Work 01:16, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Eddie891, thank you for giving me a good direction for further research. But I must admit the link leads to a completely different newspaper. I am looking for the New York Word. This one though is the Evening World. Of course both newspapers were published in New York, and eventually they merged in 1931.--TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 01:54, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- My university has microform of the paper you're looking for. If you have a wikipedia article in mind that you would use the article to improve, or really any reason it would help I'd be happy to dig through the reel, but it's a lot of work if this is just on a whim. - @Eddie891,thank you for your willingness to share knowledge. I am thinking about writing an article. I am not sure what topic I should write about, but an article about a Serbian newspaper sounds like the most logical choice. TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 09:38, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

- @Eddie891, no, it is okay! Thank you for your generous efforts. You have done more than expected! I am not sure I can somehow repay you somehow. My collection is made up only of Serbian and Croatian newspapers. I keep looking for more material that I need for writing an article about the influence of the US press on Yugoslav society.TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 19:53, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Is is possible to access New York Herald Tribune online?
I am looking for articles that describe the trial of Draža Mihailović (the issue of April 8, 1946 etc.)TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 08:40, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- @TheDiaboloBoy, which article is this for? I see that you have no active, related drafts. Sent the article from April 8 but note that the NYHT spells his name "Mihailovitch". There is more on his capture and trial in this time period, mainly via the Associated Press. To view online, you'll need a library with access to "ProQuest Historical Newspapers: New York Tribune / Herald Tribune (1841-1962)". czar 02:58, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Locus magazine back issues
Locus magazine, issues 409, 421, 432, 434, and 435, from the mid-1990s. Looking for reviews of The Farseer Trilogy, which are listed in each of these. Have not been digitized as far as I'm aware; posting in the hope that someone has hard copies they would be willing to photograph. Each review should be a page or two at most. Looking for all five, but any would be appreciated.

I need issues of official gazette of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government for articles about Inner Mongolia. They are available online at the University of Michigan Library, but I don't have access to this material. About copyright: I think, that this material is out copyright, because texts of laws are not protected (in China and Mongolia).

Carrie, by Stephen King (Doubleday, $5.95). A chillingly realistic tale of telekinesis and of a high-school girl's drastic revenge on the small town where she was made to feel like an outsider.

Canadian TV ratings data (specifically 1987-1992)
Sorry if this seems like an odd request because I'm not looking for one specific work/journal. I was directed here by someone else. I'm in a so far eighteen-month long process of improving the coverage of the Degrassi teen drama franchise, specifically to do with the 80s/90s versions of the franchise, which aired on CBC. I'm specifically looking for any Canadian ratings data between 1987 and 1992 if any exists to cite the same way pages about American shows cite Nielsen ratings. Various newspapers of the time claim the show averaged over a million followers weekly, and I'm looking for exact figures to add for each episode to support this instead of going off estimates. The Battle of Britain 2
A slight challenge here on The Battle of Britain 2, in that the publisher of the game posted reviews on their website, and listed the name of the publication but not the date or other information. So what I am asking for here, is if anyone is able to locate originals of these reviews, can you just please provide the citation for me so that I can reasonably include these reviews in the article?
The reviews in question are, as posted on archive.org:

For The Horse Lurja. François Delpech is a French historian. In his article, he identified a cycle of stories about a heroine, her helpful horse and a monstruous suitor she escapes from - the same as Georgian tale "The horse Lurja". The text of the articles seems to be the same, despite the disparity in page numbering, so it could be either/or. Thanks, KHR FolkMyth (talk) 01:51, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
