Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. —GMX(ping!) 22:42, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- @PorkchopGMX: Thanks for the suggestion, ill keep it in mind next time. are there any specific situations or template messages that you suggest this should apply to? Aidan9382 (talk) 11:21, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- I think this page describes it pretty well. —GMX(on the go!) 14:31, 4 February 2022 (UTC)

Tools for reverting vandalism
Thanks for helping out with cleaning up vandalism. I recommend using a tool such as Twinkle or RedWarn which can help make the process of reverting and warning easier. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me here. Happy editing! eviolite (talk) 17:10, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestions. Im going to keep it as manual for now, cause i dont want to accidentally click a wrong button and screw something up hard (im good at that), and i also like the control when doing it manually, but ill keep this in mind for the future. I am really sorry, I am the IP address that got hacked that deleted the 2022 Philippine Presidential Election, sorry. but still, love you :3. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.189.118.186 (talk) 12:57, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- Its fine. If you have problems with other people on your IP address causing issues, consider making an account to edit from separately, so that other people dont get you blocked. Aidan9382 (talk) 13:20, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Source was in Ukrainian....
Thanks for your edit on People's Friendship Arch. In the explanation of your edit you stated "Translate russian citation (Someone double check that ending text appended on, since im not sure what it is)". The source was in the Ukrainian language as most media in Ukraine. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 15:47, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Yulia Romero: Sorry, my mistake, not that familiar with languages. I just simply take the untranslated paramaters, and if they give a clear answer in google translate, ill replace them, otherwise ill leave them as-is. I assumed it was russian cause, last time i wiped a bunch of untranslated citations, like 90% of them were. Aidan9382 (talk) 15:56, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
No problem, obviously it was a honest mistake. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 17:58, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you!
I totally lost it with the template parameters in the JAS 39 page when I couldn't find the help page , glad you saved my bacon there! BP OMowe (talk) 00:16, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- @BP OMowe: No problem, messy citations can be a bit of a nightmare to fix sometimes. Normally, if a citation has an error, you can find error text next to it in the References section. (Example: {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |1= (help)). If you click help, it should recommend some possible fixes for your issue. Aidan9382 (talk) 05:19, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, and about that struggle with the translation parameter, im looking into cite web and
im not seeing anything for a translation of a quote. Im pretty sure the way most people do that is to just have the original quote, and then a translated version in () after it, so ill do that for now.you were probably looking for trans-quote. (You can look through all the potential parameters yourself here) Aidan9382 (talk) 05:26, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
Hello, Aidan9382,
Do not tag another editor's User pages for CSD G7 speedy deletion. If an editor wants their User pages deleted, they need to tag them themselves, that's how admins know that they indeed want them to be deleted. Please do not do this on another editor's behalf. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:51, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, I thought it was permitted to do on behalf if the editor expressed so in conversation. Ive gone ahead and asked them to tag the archives themselves. Thanks for clarifying. Aidan9382 (talk) 06:55, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
My talk page
I recognise you are trying to fix something, but it appears to have created a number of problems. Can you take a second look? CT55555 (talk) 17:26, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- @CT55555: Sure. What problems does this seem to have caused? As far as im concerned, my specific edit has made no changes. If its the long archive box thats your issue, that was there since before i made my edit. I have absolutely no idea where thats come from, but if thats what seems to be your issue, would you like me to investigate it? Aidan9382 (talk) 17:28, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
Ive gone ahead and put the page permalinks from before and after my edit side by side, and i see no visual difference. Am i missing something here? Aidan9382 (talk) 17:32, 12 May 2022 (UTC)I see what you mean. My mistake! Give me a moment, ill investigate. (User:ClueBot III/Master Detailed Indices/User talk:CT55555) Aidan9382 (talk) 17:34, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
@CT55555: Ive gone ahead and submitted a few changes. Hopefully cluebot will pick it up soon and fix whatever ive caused (Sorry for that). Ill keep investigating incase it doesnt fix soon. Sorry! Aidan9382 (talk) 17:38, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- No problems. No urgency. I'm borderline at my skill limit to instal the bot and it seemed fine to me before you tweaked it. I appreciate you trying to fix this. CT55555 (talk) 17:47, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- @CT55555: Through a bit of manual work, ive fixed it. It turns out i came along a convenient 10 minutes after the bot caused the malformed archive like that, so my edit was actually fine and i caused myself to panic over nothing (how fun). Everything (should) be fixed now. If there are any more issues, just ask me here again, and once again, i apologise if anything else went wrong during that process!

Module:Footnotes/whitelist
Hi Aidan9382. I not sure if you remember me from the Module:Sports results issues. I've been trying to clear down Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors recently. One of the issue is that certain author/template combinations need to be whitelisted. See Module talk:Footnotes#False positive no target errors for some of what I mean, and the issue I have run into. I can see the changes I need to make and I could start by copying the current module to the soapbox, but how do you go about testing a module? Is there any documentation you know of, or advice you can give? - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 20:15, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @ActivelyDisinterested: Ah, hey again! Normally for module testing, i find it easiest to just have a page where i use the module (the sandbox version if its protected), and then use the "Show Preview of another page" feature to see if what i tried worked. Sometimes that doesnt work because it relies on page title or whatever. If thats the case, I can try help figure out a workaround or something, idk. Hope this helps. Aidan9382 (talk) 20:18, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- (Im going to quickly make the sandbox version of the modules sync to the live version and then use sub-sandbox versions for you, that should help. If you need more direct help, do just ask, as ive got some spare time right now. Ive got to dissapear, so I hope what i said above actually helps. If not, I'll be checking my talk page in the morning to finish up anything and help out. Good luck with the module editing!) Aidan9382 (talk) 20:21, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thankfully a different template editor stepped in and made the necessary changes. I should learn how to deal with templates correctly, but it's only tangential to my wikignoming. Thanks for you help anyway. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 17:07, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Quick note
Hi Aidan9382 – there's a typo in your User:Aidan9382/templates/un-archive-move template: it's MiszaBot, not MizaBot. DanCherek (talk) 18:52, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
- @DanCherek: Thanks for that! I keep typing it miza for some reason, got it stuck in my head. All fixed now. Aidan9382 (talk) 18:55, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Archiving notice
Hey! During your moving of Talk:The Portsmouth Grammar School, you forgot to update the archive location. All you need to do is adjust the |archive=
parameter in the {{User:MiszaBot/Config}}
template to the new page name. Don't worry, I've fixed this for you. Just keep this in mind if you move a page in the future. Thanks! Aidan9382 (talk) 03:59, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. That is normally automatically done, and a note comes up saying if it has or has not been done. I was clearly a bit distracted because I didn't pay attention, nor did I tidy up other aspects which I would normally do (such as tidying up the talkpage, which I will do now). Thanks for being so attentive and community minded, you should do well here; though it's always as well to check the experience and knowledge of those you are giving advice to, to make sure if it's advice or just a reminder you should be sending, or if indeed it is appropriate to be sending a note about a minor edit you've just done along with advice on how to avoid making the same "mistake" (page moves automatically leave a redirect anyway). All of us make errors now and again such as a little typo, or forgetting to update a link after a move - generally it is only significant mistakes, or repeated mistakes that warrant a talkpage message. There are differing views on informing experienced users of policies and procedures, and we have some essays on that issue - the main one being: Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars. Some experienced editors find it irksome. My advice to you, moving forward, is if you come upon a minor error in future, just fix it and move on. Only contact a user if they are repeatedly making the same error. Other than that, I think you've done OK. SilkTork (talk) 08:22, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

- @FlightTime: About the diff you just posted - let me clarify. The issue is with how FULLPAGENAME works and not your use of FULLPAGENAME. I'd suggest changing it back. Sadly, since its quite an obscure issue, the only true way to fix it is manually (without quite a lot of work I assume). Sorry if my message was unclear! Aidan9382 (talk) 17:15, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

Clerking Arbitration pages
Hello! I realise this may seem officious, given that you were right about the counts in this edit, but editing the various status templates & sections should be left to clerks (and/or Arbs) in most cases, absent things like obvious vandalism. Thanks! firefly ( t · c ) 09:00, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- Alright. Thanks for the notice. Aidan9382 (talk) 09:01, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Firefly: Infact, in that case, I remember I found an old case yesterday with quite an unlucky wikilink typo (Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Winhunter, has the text "case opened by motion" (Arbitration)) Is this something that could be cleaned up by a clerk? (The page also seems just a bit weird in general with how everything just kind of exists there and I cant seem to find the history going any further back than a few days before it closes, but who knows, maybe I'm missing something - the AC is not something I normally touch).
