Lake Kyzylkol is translated from kaz. "қызыл"(kyzyl)- red, "көл"(kol)- lake. The lake is located in an arid area in the south-west direction near the village of Kumkent, Turkestan region, Suzak district. It is located at an altitude of 331 m above sea level. The coastline has a length of 13 km, and the depth of the lake is no more than 2-3 meters. Initially, the lake had a therapeutic composition of water, but over the years it lost its medicinal properties by a third and began to lose the volume of water. Soon, due to the increased salt content in the lake, the carp disappeared. In 2003, scientists began to restore the volume of water in the lake, it filled up, but soon began to lose its volume of water again due to local residents who drew water for household needs. In 2016, the lake filled up to the volume it had when it originated. What led to the return of birds to the lake: small and large cormorant, pink pelican, black vulture, etc.[1]
