Johann Kremenezky
Hello Shushugah,
thank you for your "Thank you".
Also, thank you for the English article, which has long been necessary. Kremenezky has been working on me for a long time (see my photo of the grave) and I hope to expand the article in the German Wikipedia soon, I already got the literature for it. His achievements as a pioneer of the Austrian electrical industry have been forgotten, presumably also by the subsequent Nazi era.
To my deletion request: Please understand me correctly: of course I am also interested, that this photo can remain on Commons, it would probably be one of the best and probably was taken as the others by Shmuel Joseph Schweig. But since neither the photographer nor the date of the publication of the photo are mentioned in the source you mentioned and it is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, administrators should check this.
I am also interested in the true birth date of J.K. In the Hebrew Wikipedia Alexander Gabriel is cited with the date of birth October 25, 1848. Maybe you have access to https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Ukraine/ or know someone who can access to check an entry. Greetings -- Walter Anton (talk) 04:45, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind words. I didn't realize CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 is distinct from CC 4.0. I am in agreement to remove the photo. I have since figured out how to link the existing valid WikiCommons/CC from the Hebrew Wiki (the hebrew file name initially threw me off) to both the English and German pages. Figuring out the proper birth/death date is also vital task, as there are 3 conflicting sources. with 1848 and 1850 being the two disputed birth years, and within 1848 two disputed birth month/days. Based on the birth year, we could deduct the death year, because his age is documented. hence 1934/1936 death years. Shushugah (talk) 10:38, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Henderson v. United States (2013). You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:36, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Big changes on Google Maps API
Dear user,
My english it's not so fluent to make changes at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Maps
Changes from June 11th until today (July 16th) can be seen at: https://developers.google.com/maps/billing/important-updates https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/pricing/
Some comments on other sites: https://tech.slashdot.org/story/18/07/14/1837215/google-maps-api-becomes-more-difficult-and-expensive http://www.govtech.com/biz/Google-Maps-Restricts-its-API-Government-Collectively-Shrugs.html https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17531713
I started writing... [...] The Google Maps API is not free anymore. A Google Maps API key and credit card on file is now mandatory. Google will provide users a free US$200 credit toward those costs each month. Different kinds of access (static maps, dynamic maps, street view calls, etc) will consume those credits. Above those limits, credit card will be charged.[X] [...]
Feel free to make the changes accordingly.

- Thanks @Gilson.soares:, I'll look these over and add them most likely. On separate note, I noticed you edit a lot of Google pages, with info from google sources. Are you an employee of Google? It's okay if you are, but would be great if you added a disclosure sentence on your talk page, and or on any talk page of articles you edit. See WP:COI for more info. The way you asked me for help just now, was good :) Shushugah (talk) 11:35, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

I realize you're new here, but "3 months" isn't all that long. And if you "agree" with my tp comment there, then I'm not sure why you have further gutted that page, or why you edit warred to do so, all the while throwing out "bad faith" accusations. Neither you or that IP user have improved that page. I would suggest restoring the content, tagging what needs refs and improving any writing that needs improving. Mass-blanking does not fix articles. - theWOLFchild 16:18, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

Incomplete DYK nomination
Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Police union at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; if you would like to continue, please link the nomination to the nominations page as described in step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 06:44, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- Shushugah, it's been over three weeks since you began this nomination, but have never completed it by completing step 3 as noted above. If you are interested in pursuing the nomination, please do that step, and if you aren't, please tag the nomination page as noted above. If you would like help with any of these, please feel free to let me know. Something needs to be done soon, one way or the other. Thank you very much, and we appreciate your interest in Did you know. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:45, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
- Shushugah, this is your final call to proceed with the nomination. If you wish to pursue it, either transclude it yourself per the above, or you can ask my help here. However, if you don't do either of these things while remaining active elsewhere on Wikipedia, as you have been, I will consider the nomination abandoned and request that it be deleted. I hope you will respond. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:26, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 30
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Solitary confinement of women in the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page General population. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

International Typographical Union
Hi Shushugah, I noticed that you moved International Typographical Union earlier this month. I think it should be moved back to its historic name. Per WP:MOSTCOMMON, this is its most common name. A search of Google for "Printing, Publishing and Media Workers" reveals just 2,720 hits, whereas a search for "International Typographical Union" reveals over 210,000 hits. This make sense since it was known as the ITU for 135 years prior to disbanding 34 years ago. A separate article should be made for the CWA-era locals.--User:Namiba 16:17, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- I was unsure about the edit myself as well. I'd be happy with redirecting Printing, Publishing and Media Workers to International Typographical Union. Ideally the new union/name has its own Wikipedia page. ~ Shushugah (talk) 16:43, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Anarchism
Hi Shushugah,
I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!
And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.
Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 05:42, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Welcome message
Hi @Shushugah, thank you for the message regarding my username and changes to the James Villa Holidays article. I wasn't aware this would be considered a conflict of interest - apologies. I have created a new username as you've advised to remove the association. The only change I was attempting to make was to update the ownership of the company as it was no longer valid...I notice this change has been implemented, so thank you for publishing the changes. When I reviewed the page I also noticed it is now proposed that this page be deleted. Please could you advise why you're proposing this? I would object to this being deleted.
Many thanks. KerrieC (talk) 11:52, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Alexa O'Brien
Shushugah, since your user page links to your Twitter account, I took the liberty of searching for your tweets tagging Alexa O'Brien, whose BLP and its talk page you edited today. You've evidently been a fan of hers for many years. That's fine, of course. But I wonder if you crossed paths IRL during her six-month stay in Berlin in 2014. I ask in the hope that you might suggest a way of documenting her falling out with Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, which seems to have begun then. It's an important development that warrants inclusion in her BLP but obviously requires at least one WP:RS, perhaps in German that I might have overlooked due to my reading English only. Thanks for your help with this. NedFausa (talk) 19:04, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Namaste I recently created a article Ghodasgaon, Jalgaon District. It is also available in Marathi Wikipedia but they're not linked to eachother. I want a reader can directly able to go from Marathi article to Eng and vice-versa. Research Voltas (talk) 12:01, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- I am happy to do it for you, and also happy to explain how it's done. In English Wikipedia, if you go to "Languages" tab on the left side, and edit, you'll be prompted with edit the wikipedia language code, which is mr in this case, and then the name of the article in Marathi. That will automatically create/link a Wikidata item in the background. You can see the example for Jalgaon housing scam on the Wikidata item d:Q31737036. If you want me to do it, I need the name/link to the Marathi article Shushugah (talk) 12:29, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Also note, you linked to Ghodasgaon, Jalgaon District earlier, but it was a red link, because you created Ghodasgaon , Jalgaon District (with an extra whitespace before the comma). I fixed that for you, with a redirect link. Shushugah (talk) 12:33, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- The name of Marathi WP article is घोडसगाव , the article is live on Marathi WP. You can search it on Google. Research Voltas (talk) 13:01, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- Currently mr:घोडसगाव already is WP:Interwiki linked to English Wiki article Ghodasgaon. Which one is more correct? If they both are, I can still manually link to mr:घोडसगाव from Ghodasgaon, Jalgaon District Shushugah (talk) 13:53, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Happyrunner605
Hi. I'll take this conversation away from WP:ORCP as it's probably too much detail over there.
The problem with Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive1060#Report to Happyrunner605 is an editor said somebody was being disruptive on two articles, and you asked for clarification on which editor and for diffs. While this is a fair comment, it took me about 10 seconds on each article's history to spot the disruptive editor - if a request for sanctions at ANI is correct, the disruption should leap out like a sore thumb, and it did. You then said a user had been blocked indefinitely for legal threats and being clearly not here, which didn't specify any editor and was not true, and Sandstein corrected you.
On their own, these comments are not problematic. However, at RfA people tend not to like editors who've spent time, especially at ANI, doing "clerking work". By that I mean things like closing ANI threads such as, for example, "User:Willy on Wheels 4K HD blocked indefinitely for vandalism". Unless a thread is heated or controversial, and a close is necessary to make a decision or sum up consensus (actions best done by experienced admins), closing ANI threads isn't really necessary, and could even be undesirable per deny recognition and revert, block, ignore.
I hope that all makes sense. Again, I want to reiterate none of this is really a major problem, but just something to think about moving forward. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:04, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
- Because others may come across this talk page, just wanted to reply thank you for taking the time and care to explain this to me. I will then continue to focus on content creation, which at end of the day, is the core activity of Wikipedia. I've apologised to Sandstein for the sloppy mistake as well, which you can see here which is also a good sign, I am probably not ready for the mop. Shushugah (talk) 12:14, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi Shushugah. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:11, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you and an honor to hear from you after seeing your username ping so many times in my notifications whenever a page I created was reviewed! My assumption is that pages I create will still will be reviewed by others right? Shushugah (talk) 22:17, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
Do not hesitate to leave me a message
If this is declined alert me so I can send it straight to AFD. Celestina007 (talk) 01:26, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- This is actually still in Draft, so I shouldn't have marked it for deletion. Barring 6 months of no editing, or speedy deletion criteria, this can stay. If it were submitted, I'd currently mark it for AfD per vanity, and NOINHERIT. Shushugah (talk) 17:36, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Diplomatic missions of templates
Do you plan on using this template in the future or is it just a test page you created from your DiplomacyDocumentation subpage? I only ask since I came across it from one of the categories as I was adding the Bahrain–United States relations template I created to relevant pages. The same question goes for the other missions templates you've created not named Afghanistan. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 01:09, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- It is not a test template. If you would like to transclude it in in the two different embassies linked, that would be wonderful.
- Initially I myself was initially skeptical whether such template should exist for every country, even where there was only one English Wikipedia link, but the case of Template:Diplomatic missions in Mozambique convinced me otherwise. It currently only links to Holy See mission in English wiki, but has a wealth of information in other languages, that is not captured visibly elsewhere. As you can see from Category:Diplomatic missions by sending country templates, there are many more countries to go. ~ Shushugah (talk) 10:11, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
Come to think of it, could you send me a list of all these types of templates you've created on my talk page. I'll be willing to add them to articles if you can't. I don't want anyone of your templates from being nominated in a future Tfd when it clearly can be used even if it has just one link. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 23:33, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Seeking help editing an article

Embassies in Washington, D.C.
It seems those articles were titled as such to avoid consecutive commas. Maybe this should have been discussed? --Paul_012 (talk) 05:32, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- I incorrectly remembered reaching a consensus about it in Wikipedia:WikiProject International relations and would support opening a request for comment. If anything I prefer the "Embassies in XYZ" format more, but the majority of current pages didn't have that.
- There are a number of issues to resolve, from notability of embassies to naming conventions. I took the most pragmatic approach and saw that almost all embassy pages including the ones located in US and Russia (which have the most embassy pages by far) used the convention of Embassy of XYZ, City. You can see some other considerations I included here Shushugah (talk) 16:23, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I kind of agree with "Embassies in XYZ", but I'm not actually that invested to initiate such a large request. I just noticed another thing, though. The navboxes you're creating have the template state set as expanded by default. Wouldn't it be better to just follow the usual default, which is autocollapse? An embassy article will carry at least two navboxes, and having them expanded seems like potential clutter. --Paul_012 (talk) 19:24, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Prison education
Hi Shushugah. Thanks for stating your willingness to help at Prison education at GMG's talk page. Obviously help of any kind is appreciated. If you're not sure where to start though it would be good to just have a new set of eyes read everything and make suggestions for what needs work. Essentially just doing an FAC type review, before it's actually at FAC. The goal is to renominate it there so any comments on what might need to be done to get it to pass through that process are welcome. Or if you'd like to help in another way please let me know. No worries if you're too busy or anything though, just thought I'd follow this up once. Have a nice day. :) Damien Linnane (talk) 06:49, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks again for your comments. The FAC nomination is now live: see here. If you have the time to comment there I'd appreciate it, and let me know if you need comments on a review somewhere. Cheers. Damien Linnane (talk) 23:05, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi again. The nomination is about to be pushed down to the 'Older nomination' section, and while support is unanimous to far, based on my prior experience with FAC there just haven't been enough comments yet to reach a consensus. If you have the time to take another look I would appreciate. Just thought I'd bring this up once more; I'll leave it with you from here. Have a nice day. Damien Linnane (talk) 23:19, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

I have made some improvements to the article Plevna, Tampere. You may wish to review the nomination Template:Did you know nominations/Plevna, Tampere again. JIP | Talk 03:02, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your help on my draft
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your assistance on my draft for Holocaust Survivor Chaim Sztajer. I attempted to write this article about two years ago but it got rejected, possibly because it relied too heavily on one biography. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of other sources I can find for the basic biographical information as he is one of the lesser known Treblinka survivors worldwide, though he very is well known in the Melbourne community for his contributions to the Holocaust museum here. I'm working on the draft again now and I just resubmitted it. If you have any other ideas for how I can improve this article please let me know. Thank you again!
– bradv🍁 01:08, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
From Suede (singer)
Pls forgive me if this is not the correct way to respond to the thread I started regarding the Suede (singer) page. I am new to communicating with Wikipedia and not at all familiar with how to do so properly.
I want to clarify, in writing, that I meant no legal threat to Wikipedia at all by my mention of the lawsuit against Sony for trademark violation in 1993 - I just meant to inform Wikipedia on the facts that the band has consistently violated the terms (continuing to use my trademarked name) and I, as a small business owner do my best to clean up those messes, tedious as it is. Unfortunately, it's an overwhelming task - for 28 years. And the confusion continues.
Also - you stated you are going to "delete the article." Would you kindly clarify that? Do you mean the Suede (singer) page will now be deleted completely? I hope not. Pls advise on how I can resolve this, if so.
Thank you for the clarification - on all points. SuedeSuedewave (talk) 18:20, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Suedewave no worries, I appreciate your clarification and retraction. I proposed the Article about you for deletion, because it is lacking in Wikipedia:Significant coverage about yourself other than this one lawsuit, which is already mentioned in Suede (band). My recommendation to you, would be to post a brief comment on the deletion discussion with the three best news articles about yourself and let other editors decide on the merits of coverage based on that.
- Wikipedia reflects what is already written out there, and does not function as a primary advertisement block on any topic. I know that's frustrating, but the reasoning is explained in Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. ~ Shushugah (he/him • talk) 08:43, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

Wikiproject banner merge
Hi Shushugah, taking you up on your offer of advice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council, I have completed the merge. However, I have a question regarding categories. While there is no Category:Philippine History articles, there is a Category:WikiProject Philippine History, presumable from when it was a separate Wikiproject. I do not think the current code maintains this separate category tree. I am trying to merge these with minimal to zero disruption elsewhere, not undoing the work that was previously put into it, so I don't want to replace the obsolete banner until this is sorted. Would you be able to take a look? (Perhaps the Category needs renaming, but I don't know what else would need to be updated to accommodate that so it's low priority.) Thanks, CMD (talk) 14:21, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Chipmunkdavis Hey, I created a mass delete/merge nomination at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2021 October 20#Merged WikiProject/Task Tracking Categories have a look! ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 09:38, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, maybe others will have views. The simplest solution may be keeping the categories as a parallel tree triggered by the task force parameter of the overall template, if that is possible. CMD (talk) 09:41, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed, the simplest solution may be to rename Category:WikiProject Philippine History to Category:Philippine history task force. This allows it to be associated with multiple WikiProjects if need be, e.g. WP:WikiProject Philippines but also WP:WikiProject History, even if the task force is primarily associated with WikiProject Philippines. I was looking at Category:Sex work task force for inspiration. Ultimately a category is only useful, if they're actively used/have long term tracking potential. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 09:50, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

The article is not meant to be promotional at all since the council is a non-profit cooperation platform. No employees, noone is paid, it's a group of volunteers creating initiatives. Please help me figure it out.
Wikiabudhabi (talk) 09:45, 7 December 2021 (UTC)wikiabudhabi
- @Wikiabudhabi What are the two three best news/academic sources you have on it? I am familiar/empathetic to difficulty of covering non-profit/volunteer initiatives, as you can see I wrote a lot of articles about social movements/activism. Even so, you can still have WP:COI even unpaid. For example, I refrained recently from directly editing 2021 Gorillas strikes and Tech Workers Coalition, two volunteer groups due to my involvement with them. I posted on the Talk pages for them with sources/feedback. So to reiterate, what are the three best sources you have? Without those, no prose/writing style will help at all. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 09:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
I guess the council website and social media channels wont be any help here? Wikiabudhabi (talk) 09:57, 7 December 2021 (UTC)wikiabudhabi
- @Wikiabudhabi Exactly. If those were the only sources you had, that's fine for an activist project, but not for Wikipedia. Please read the links I took the time to find/include in my reply on the talk page. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 10:02, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Misread 12/4 as April 12
Hey! I saw that you said this on the Teahouse and figured I'd ask, do you use the DMY format more often than MDY? Only asking cause that seems like a logical explanation as to why you misread that date. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:24, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf Yup! MDY (date) is primarily used in US and Philippines. I live in Europe and tend to use DMY, however because of the excessive ambiguity in 144 cases (12 months X 12 days) I try to use something less fragile like longer text format (December 4 and 4 December are both clear despite variation). YMD is also quite common in sorting, whereas YDM does not exist. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 18:29, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- Neat, and yes I agree in cases where the date is 1-12 it can get confusing. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:41, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

WikiDonation template
Hello! With your new template I noticed that if a user uses the reply tool, the colon to indent is placed at the commented text and so the actual template reply is unindented. I think this can be solved by moving the commented text to the bottom. I can make this change myself if you tell me how I would edit the template to show this. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:34, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- Blaze The Wolf I am on phone now so cannot easily test it myself but makes sense. Given that it’s substituted and not a live/actively used template you have my encouragement to make test edits and revert if needed. The formal testing process otherwise is to make a copy at Template:WikiDonation/sandbox and then call {{WikiDonation/sandbox}} somewhere using both reply function and a source mode edit. Another possible solution is to add : again on the 2nd line ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 21:05, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- Alright. But how would I make these changes to the actual template? Is there some source code page I can't access or can I simply just edit the text that is used in the template on the page for the template. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 21:06, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- You should be able to edit Template:WikiDonation directly. I’ll double check default permissions but cannot recall any default protection for templates. I didn’t add any in any case. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 21:08, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf Am on computer now. This is the link, if you're unable to edit, you'll see the source code without an option to edit it locally or save. See this external link [1] ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 21:29, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- When you moved the commented text you forgot to remove the leftover space from where it was. Due to it automatically inserting the signature it appears to be incompatible with the reply tool since the reply tool doesn't know that it will do that, and so it automatically inserts a signature. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:10, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
- I see that you have made recent changes attempting to stop the Reply function from duplicating the signature. My testing (on my User Talk:Verbarson page) shows that the signature is currently still doubled up by the Reply tool. I have therefore added a warning on Template:WikiDonation/doc.-- Verbarson (talk) 22:28, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Would simply removing the signature be a solution? Enabling its usage in visual editor without source code would be easiest, and allow for source mode editors to add their signature anyways? Thanks for checking it/updating the docs ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 22:38, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable. Adding a sig is a matter of habit.
- If you remove the signature, we would not have subst it, but then it would always appear with the latest text. Possibly a bad idea for talk pages - you don't want to get a reply, then when you go back later find it has changed?
- So - remove the signature, keep the subst? Verbarson (talk) 00:21, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

- @Blaze The Wolf Am on computer now. This is the link, if you're unable to edit, you'll see the source code without an option to edit it locally or save. See this external link [1] ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 21:29, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- You should be able to edit Template:WikiDonation directly. I’ll double check default permissions but cannot recall any default protection for templates. I didn’t add any in any case. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 21:08, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- Alright. But how would I make these changes to the actual template? Is there some source code page I can't access or can I simply just edit the text that is used in the template on the page for the template. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 21:06, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
yeah definitely keep the subst because we don’t want to change text and mislead people. Perhaps a future template is more harshly worded etc… ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 00:24, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- Random suggestion about the template but maybe an alternative way to use the template would be {{subst:wikidonation}} (all lowercase) since I think most templates use all lowercase in the wikitext to invoke them except for yours, so just writing it all lowercase doesn't work. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:39, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- Also, maybe there should be a version of the template for registered users who have an account but don't know that they can disable the banners? ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:41, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf created {{subst:wikidonation}} redirect which is all lowercase now. I don't have a strong opinion on creating more/alternate templates. I'd prefer to keep it simpler, as the usage of {{wikidonation}} is likely limited as is. You could create your own template, or edit the existing one to not assume it's an IP address. Be WP:BOLD ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 20:45, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- I don't actually know how to create my own template since from my knowledge that requires writing code so it functions correctly. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:52, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf if you ever want to learn how to make Templates, am happy to support you. This is a good example of something with minimal code. The signature was the most complex part, and even I simply removed altogether it as a pragmatic solution. You can read more at Help:A quick guide to templates. To create a template like you suggested, you could open Template:Wikidonationsigned and enter whatever written english you want. It would work as {{Wikidonationsigned}} already. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 20:57, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Engmaj (talk) 18:26, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Thank you for your suggestions. I have incorporated some into the DYK nomination. I agree that the article should have more categories. I'm on a deadline for something non-Wikipedia related but will go back and add some. So, links within articles should be kept to things within Wikipedia itself? Good to know. Again, thanks. DYK for Volkswagen worker organizations
![]() | On 1 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Volkswagen worker organizations, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that on initiative of the Volkswagen worker organizations, Volkswagen formed one of the first Global Works Councils in 1998, an extension of the existing European Works Council? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Volkswagen worker organizations. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Volkswagen worker organizations), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Banjarmasin
Sorry - was going to start the GAN for Banjarmasin (created the subpage) but noticed it was removed from the list on the backlog drive, and it turns out you had planned to review it. Do you want to take it instead? If so then I'd be happy to hand it over - I haven't started yet. eviolite (talk) 00:10, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for responding regarding my Wikipedia drama.
As I said, I had a page (not a draft) that was active for 7 years until recently when someone said it needed more citations. Couldn't find the person who originally created this page so we tried editing and added more than forty accurate citations that cite my work over the years, awards, and direct references. If you look at the draft you can see who I am and why the page was there to begin with.
If there is a consensus that my work is no longer "notable" (it was for seven years) so be it. Delete me.
If not, is there any way for you (you seem to be objective) to look it over and can we chat either via email or telephone?
I have some other email accounts and will give you my mobile number if necessary. I am almost 72 years old now and would like to clean this up.

WikiCup & the Good Article Nomination Backlog Drive
Hi there, you're receiving this note because you're currently signed up for the 2022 WikiCup and don't yet have any points in the competition. As you may know, scoring any points in the first round is traditionally sufficient to advance to the second, and a fast way to get 5 points is to complete a good article review. Given that the January 2022 Good Article Nomination Backlog Drive is active for another 10 days, you might be interested in pitching in. Complete one review, and you'll be on to the next round in WikiCup; complete two or three, and you'll also be eligible to win some barnstars. As always, quality reviews with attention to detail are expected. Cheers, --Usernameunique (talk) 19:40, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Usernameunique I'm the third most active contributor in the GANBD at the moment, I was planning on tallying my scores at the end of the month for the WikiCup (along with some GA/DYK nominations of my own), is there a deadline soon tho? Kind regards ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 19:51, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- Shushugah, yep, that's the consequence of quickly making a list of people with 0 points in the WikiCup and sending a mass message their way. Do note that per Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, "In the spirit of fair play, contestants have 14 days to nominate their work after promotion (for good and featured content), appearance on the main page (for did you knows and in the news articles) or the completion of good or featured article reviews and featured list reviews, by entering it on their submissions page." If a couple are past the deadline at this point, I wouldn't worry; the first round isn't particularly competitive, so missing out on a few points won't hold you back. --Usernameunique (talk) 20:00, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
GA review of First homosexual movement
Hello Shushugah. I'm about to start a copy-edit of First homosexual movement. - Hi Shushugah, the copyedit has been done. Do you know when you might be able to get to the review? If you're not able to do it, I can ask for another reviewer. Thanks, (t · c) buidhe 01:46, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Devil in Christianity GAReview
Hello again. I see there is a request for a second opinion on the review page of this article, and that no progress has been made for a couple of weeks. I can certainly offer a second opinion, but I am wondering if you might prefer me to just take over the review entirely. If you are committed to it, don't let me interfere, but if you have too much on your plate and would like to let this one go, just ping me. We will ask the nominator and move on accordingly. Features for new users coming soon (and mentors, like you, wanted!)
Hello. As you're listed as a host at the Teahouse, I wanted to make sure you're aware of the imminent rollout of new Growth Team Features which every new account will be getting by default. Each users will soon see a new 'Homepage' tab next to their User page. It contains two main elements which might impact on your involvement - and you'd be welcome to get involved and help out directly with one of them.
- Firstly, they will be offered a range of 'suggested edits', and encouraged to make simple improvements to pages that interest them. (Being aware of this feature would be helpful for all Teahouse hosts if you're likely to offer advice on tasks for them to start out doing.)
- There's also a 'Your impact' box to show them how many people have seen the pages they've just edited.
- Finally, each new user is randomly assigned a 'mentor' from a list of friendly, experienced editors, like yourself. If they get stuck, they can ask a question directly to them via a Your mentor box, and hopefully get a swift, friendly answer from that mentor. Currently, this feature is given to 2% of new users, but it's set to increase to around 10% in the very near future.
To spread the load on our current list of around 65 mentors, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd like to help out and sign up as one? The workload is relatively small; User Panini! reports receiving four questions a month, on average, all of which were simple ones of the type we already get at the Teahouse, whilst I've had just one in the last 3 weeks. To view a list of every question asked of all mentors over the last 14 days, click here.
If becoming a mentor and being available to help new users on their first few days here interests you - just as have done at the Teahouse in the past - then please consider signing up at Growth Team features/Mentor list. But please only do so if you are genuinely willing to be available to help. Existing users can already 'opt-in' to seeing the Newcomer Homepage features via their Preferences.

Abandoned reviews
Shushugah, you still have the following open GA reviews, started as part of the last backlog drive in early January, but which you haven't touched since late January: Talk:OpenVMS/GA1, Talk:Adam Naruszewicz/GA1, Talk:Hasan ibn Ali/GA1, and Talk:Guido Imbens/GA1. Can I assume that you won't be returning to them, and that we should find other reviewers for them? Please let me know. If you haven't replied within seven days, I will place them under second opinion in hopes of finding another reviewer. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:15, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- Posting to note that, the seven days having expired, I have placed all four nominations under second opinion in the hopes that a new reviewer will pick them up and finish them. I hope you are well. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:05, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- BlueMoonset I have been giving that second opinion on Devil in Christianity. I am only temporarily held up because my mother died last week and I am in the process of closing her estate which both the author and Shushuga are aware of. - BlueMoonset I am finally home and will begin reviewing again. I have attempted to change the reviewer name on the talk page and at the GAR page and have had no luck. It still shows Shushugah as the reviewer. Do you know how to fix that? Jenhawk777 (talk) 06:06, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- Jenhawk777, when people take over existing reviews, the original reviewer typically remains up top on the review page (and thus on the WP:GAN page), so Shushugah is going to stay there. New reviewers typically announce themselves in a new level-3 header and gets to work. If it's important to you, we can mention the change in the "note=" field of the GA nominee template on the article's talk page. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:36, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

GAR of Devil in Christianity is complete and needs your response
I have finished the review [2]. I believe any and all issues have been successfully addressed and that this article currently meets all the criteria for a good article. It should be passed. I would do it, but you are still listed as the reviewer, so I can't without going through a big rigamarole. Yes I know that means you will get the credit, but it's not a big deal.
