Talk:List of longest-reigning monarchs
See #14th : Elizabeth II for Jamaica section above. I've noticed the inconsistency with having Elizabeth as 2nd and 14th longest-reigning monarch(s?), and other wikipedians have. But at least one wikipedian (two ? I'm not sure what Peter O. thinks about this specific number question) disagree, the discussion can't go further. There's also the more general issue of having two separate Elizabeth entry (one for Jamaica and one for the other countries), me and others are also against it, but it seems to me that it's less important as it's a presentation issue, not an inconstistency issue. Category talk:Flag template shorthands
Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking § What generally should not be linked says that major examples of countries which most readers will be at least somewhat familiar are usually not linked, implying that some of these shorthands should use {{flagu}} unstead of {{flag}}. So I propose changing the shorthands of sovereign UN member states (except microstates) to use the unlinked flag template while those of dependent territories and other non-sovereign entities (perhaps except the United Nations) remain linked as they are now. --Fernando Trebien (talk) 20:15, 3 June 2022 (UTC) |

I'm sure this must've been raised a few times before (if nothing else, for its evident reasonableness and simplicity), but I thought I'd revisit it. Tbc, by readers I mean logged off users, and by editors I mean logged in (though editors may visit--and even edit!--Wikipedia while logged off, and logged in users may visit just for reading, not editing). — Guarapiranga ☎ 04:09, 22 May 2022 (UTC) |
