Proposed merge with New York State College of Ceramics
Primary article is Alfred University; New York State College of Ceramics best served as redirect to section of the former DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 23:55, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
I do not feel that these two pages need to be merged. Both need to be expanded upon. There is much interest in the history of both institutions, except there is little aptitude for Wikipedia additions in those interested. The two are legally separate, as well as historically separate. It would be nice if the pages of Alfred University and New York State College of Ceramics, could rival that of Cornell University and New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, as they have essentially the same type of statutory set-up. I for one have read several interesting histories about both institutions and hope to add my knowledge to both sections. Also, there is a very eager group of librarians working at Herrick Memorial library to digitize the University's collections so that editors like me can use their resources from afar. I believe that the short entries, scattered histories and layout issues can be resolved. I am sure many schools pages have looked similarly disjointed before someone took hold to remedy it. Thanks. --Smdenman (talk) 01:55, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
I agree that they should not be merged. Administratively, legally, and financially they are quite distinct. Alfred is a private university, the College of Ceramics a state school and member of SUNY, though located at Alfred University. deisenbe (talk) 12:43, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
