Madani–Iqbal debate: The author's English grammar and spelling are in general poor, and it's obvious that large chunks of the wording in this new article have been copied word for word, but the wording doesn't appear to be from the cited source. I have searched but not found clear evidence of substantial copying and I don't know where to go from here. Deb (talk) 07:00, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Goodwill (accounting)(history · last edit · rewrite) This was tagged by MaxEnt and I don't think it was ever copied here; apologies if it was and I've just missed it. Their comment: from Investopedia circa 2016 as alleged in moribund and seemingly ignored IP-user talk page comment from yesteryear. YorkshireLad ✿ (talk) 07:50, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Upon investigation, this appears to be an issue of copying definitions (which would also be used by Investopedia), thus the overlap. As I understand from our US GAAP article the definitions are used by but not created by the federal government. Some of the copied/closely paraphrased rules can be seen here in ASC-20-55. I don't know finance well enough to rewrite this and not buthcer the meaning. I need help on this. VernoWhitney (talk) 20:17, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
