If you are here with questions about an article I have deleted or a copyright concern, please consider first reading my personal policies with regards to deletion and copyright, as these may provide your answer. While you can email me to reach me in my volunteer capacity, I don't recommend it. I very seldom check that email account. If you do email me, please leave a note here telling me so or I may never see it. I hardly ever check that account. To leave a message for me, press the "new section" or "+" tab at the top of the page, or simply . Remember to sign your message with ~~~~. I will respond to all civil messages. I attempt to keep conversations in one location, as I find it easier to follow them that way when they are archived. If you open a new conversation here, I will respond to you here. Please watchlist this page or check back for my reply; I will leave you a "talkback" notice if you request one and will generally try to trigger your automatic notification even if you don't. (I sometimes fail to be consistent there; please excuse me if I overlook it.) If I have already left a message at your talk page, unless I've requested follow-up here or it is a standard template message, I am watching it, but I would nevertheless appreciate it you could trigger my automatic notification. {{Ping}} works well for that. If you leave your reply here, I may respond at your talk page if it seems better for context. If you aren't sure if I'm watching your page, feel free to approach me here. |

During my current work interim position, I have found myself with not a lot of spare time that isn't consumed by family. I can go long periods without logging in to Wikipedia. If you have an urgent note for me here, please consider alerting me via email at mdennis
wikimedia.org. (This is my work email address, and I do not mix work and volunteering, but mailing that address makes sure I will see it promptly, usually within a day.) If not urgent, I'll come by as soon as I can, and I heartily welcome talk page stalkers. :) Oh, I have discovered that sometimes when people don't tell me it's a volunteer contact, I have handled it with the wrong hat on. Please make which "me" you want clear!

- Interestingly, the page was actually created in 2005 by User:Zachorious.Moonriddengirl re-created it after some sort of round robin move-deletion to rid it of copyright problems. This was just a little while before revision deletion became a thing. Twinkle couldn't have known any of that though, and the creating user hasn't edited in nearly nine years. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:26, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, this happens occasionally. :) I created a lot of articles in copyright cleanup which I am point person for, despite not actually having been involved in beyond that. TV episode articles were often the bane of my existence! People have a tendency to just copy the episode descriptions from TV Guide or some similar source, and those are copyrighted. Over and over again those descriptions come back. Ugh. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:00, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
Hello again
It's been a while since I've been active and I saw you on my Watchlist, and just thought I should swing by and say 'Hi!' VernoWhitney (talk) 14:22, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, VernoWhitney! I'm delighted also to see you. :D I don't volunteer much these days but am on vacation and thought I'd put a few hours in. I dream of post-retirement jazz articles. :) Thanks for keeping at the copyright grind. <3 --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:24, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Heh, I was MIA for most of 8+ years, so I figured I should get back in with what I know I'm good at. The copyright work has even come in handy on my resume a few times over the intervening years, so there's ulterior motives too. ^_^ VernoWhitney (talk) 14:28, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
Same—Hi! Still here, too. P. S. you missed one at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2022 April 29. MER-C 16:55, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Argh! :D I'll pick it up! Rewriting one of those billions of close paraphrases, MER-C. :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:07, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Done, MER-C. :) I see people are as good as they've ever been at that mandatory notice to the infringer. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:42, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

Copy of deleted article
Hi Moonriddengirl, I am reaching out to you as your account appears in Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles. The Battle of the North (cricket match) was recently deleted. I did not have a chance to contest the deletion as I was inactive. I accept the deletion but would like to add some of the content from the deleted article to Jaffna Central College. Would you be willing to assist by letting me have the content/wiki text of the deleted article? You can add it to my sandbox.--Obi2canibe (talk) 11:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Obi2canibe. :) It looks like you added most of the content to that article, but since it did have other contributors there's a bit of a challenge in userfying it for you to mine content. For attribution reasons, we need the full list. Because of that, I instead restored it in article space as a redirect with the tag that it is a redirect resulting from a merge. You can, of course, find the content in history here: Battle of the North (cricket match). Please excuse me if I tell you something you already know, but I want to make sure to remind you that when you copy content from that article to Jaffna Central College, you should follow the directions at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. It's not really difficult. You should link directly to the original article in the edit summary and add this template to the talk page Jaffna Central College: {{Merged-from|Battle of the North (cricket match)|date}}. Again please excuse me if I explain too much. <3 --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:47, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will go through the article history to see what content I need to rescue and I will follow your instructions regarding attribution.--Obi2canibe (talk) 13:56, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
