The 42nd Field Artillery Regiment (Lanark and Renfrew Scottish), RCA is a Canadian Army Reserve artillery regiment based in Pembroke, Ontario. It is part of the 4th Canadian Division's 33 Canadian Brigade Group.

Operational History
Fenian Raids
The 42nd "Brockville Battalion of Infantry" was called out on active service on 24 May 1870 and served on the St. Lawrence River frontier, until it was removed from active service on 2 June 1870.[5]
The Great War
The 130th Battalion (Lanark and Renfrew), CEF was authorized on 22 December 1915 and embarked for Britain on 27 September 1916. There, on 6 October 1916 its personnel were absorbed by the 12th Reserve Battalion, CEF to provide reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field. The battalion disbanded on 21 May 1917.[6]
The 240th Battalion was authorized on 15 July 1916 and embarked for Britain on 3 May 1917. There,4 June 1917 its personnel were absorbed by the 7th Reserve Battalion, CEF to provide reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field. The battalion disbanded on 1 September 1917.[7]
The Second World War
Details from the regiment were mobilized for active service to provide guards for vulnerable points designated as The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment, CASF (Details) on 1 September 1939. The details called out on active service disbanded on 31 December 1940. The regiment subsequently mobilized the 1st Battalion, The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment, CASF, on 5 March 1942, which served in Canada in a home defence role as part of Atlantic Command. This battalion disbanded on 15 October 1943.[8]
The 1st Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA, CASF, was organized in England on 1 February 1941. It landed in Sicily on 8 November 1943 and in Italy on 8 January 1944 as part of the 12th Infantry Brigade, 5th Canadian Armoured Division. It converted to infantry and was redesignated as The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment, CIC, CASF, on 13 July 1944. On 5 March 1945 the regiment moved to North-West Europe as part of OPERATION GOLDFLAKE, where, on 15 March 1945 it reverted to artillery and was redesignated as the 1st Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment), RCA, CASF, and reallocated to the No. 3 Canadian Base Reinforcement Group. The overseas regiment disbanded on 29 June 1945.[9]
