AntiVandal Script
Hello I just wanted to say that I find it very neat that you are able to make your own AntiVandalism script. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 13:07, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- @SkyWolf369 thanks! I mainly just wanted a web-based interface similar to Huggle, and I have way too much free time... :P >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 13:08, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Do you mind if I read through the code and see if I can find anything that could be tweaked I enjoy working on JavaScript code in my free time. Of course I will consult you before I make any changes if you would like. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 13:10, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- @SkyWolf369 that's fine! However only the user and interface admins can edit user js pages, so let me know if you have any suggestions. The code itself is a bit of a mess right now (it was originally meant as an Electron application, and most of the code was copied directly from there.) >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 13:13, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Do you mind if I make a copy then and put my edits on my copy? SkyTheWolf (Talk) 13:14, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- @SkyWolf369 yep, that's fine. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 13:15, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

- Cool tool, thanks for creating this.
Just noticed it in an edit summary. I've been looking for a browser-based Huggle replacement for quite a while. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:17, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Ingenuity Hello po.. Someone edited this article. i think this is against Marcos family. Edits made after the election. May 12. medyo newbie pa ako dito. i did not vote bbm pero parang di naman ata maganda mag spread ng fake infos.

Your user page
Hi Ingenuity! I hope you're doing well and that you're having a great day! While I was handling Moonlol1's shenanigans and putting that user into a time-out corner, I noticed that they attempted to modify your user page in order to vandalize and add derogatory remarks to it. Also, upon seeing that edit filter log, I quickly drew the obvious conclusion that your user page isn't protected, which leaves it wide open for attacks and... unpleasantness.
I went ahead and applied indefinite semi-protection from editing, as well as indefinite full-protection from moving - to your user page. That will definitely make it a lot harder for bad-faith users to be able to do anything to it. ;-) Anyways, I just wanted to let you know. Thanks for keeping the place nice and clean, and I wish you happy editing! :-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:11, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi Ingenuity. Please forgive my aggressive edits from earlier today. I self-edited my nastiness, or so it appears 🤔. It just angered me that someone could be so utterly lazy, as to post an incorrect league (my alma mater's former league, mind you), without taking 2 seconds to check it....something they could have EASILY DONE ON WIKI!!! I was having a bad day also. Lol! Thanks, Knite Flyer Knite Flyer 2 (talk) 23:01, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Account moderation
Hey Ingenuity, This account has seemed to been compromised from multiple different instances and has had a history of some questionable edits to a school page, and I really want nothing to do with the edits made by others. The edits were not constructive and I'm afraid that I will be linked to this spree of vandalism. I don't know if you are the right person to ask, but I was wondering about an account deletion or deletion of previous edits tied to the account and school page. Thanks DoganTozoglu (talk) 23:13, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
- @DoganTozoglu: I'm afraid that it's not possible to delete an account (because of some attribution issues). I think this page may help you: Wikipedia:Courtesy vanishing -- essentially you can be renamed to "vanished user 1341234" etc. However, since your account has been used for vandalism, it may not be regarded as "in good standing", but it's worth a shot. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 23:22, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Cleaner userscript
Hi Ingenuity, thank you so much for developing User:Ingenuity/cleaner, do you plan on making updates to the script? Justiyaya 04:11, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Justiyaya I was planning to make some updates, to add more features or to fix the existing bugs, within the next few weeks. I've been focusing more on my AntiVandal script over the last little while, but I've got that in a good enough state that I'll be able to work on the cleaner script soon. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 10:51, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- Nice! Can you potentially include the ability for the script to also fix another kind of curly quotes(
″
)? Another thing is that when the script notices an article doesn't have {{reflist}}, can it check for ==References== in order to not duplicate sections? Example for both can be found at Special:Diff/1087920192. Thanks again for making the script, it saved me a lot of time (especially with the relocate references feature) and made me make corrections that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. Could you tell me from what nationality are you Tissia Lover (talk) 12:26, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover does that matter? >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:27, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes it does, are you in any way connected to Lebanon and/or it's people Tissia Lover (talk) 12:28, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover that doesn't matter. If you continue to vandalize, you will be blocked from editing. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:29, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Hello are you still there? Tissia Lover (talk) 12:29, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I am not vandalizing Tissia Lover (talk) 12:30, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I was going to put citations Tissia Lover (talk) 12:30, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover: adding "He lost the 2022 election and went to ploughing his garden leaving the people of Lebanon without his annoying speaches" is definitely vandalism. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:31, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
And it does matter, you north Americans are always blocking our articles with no knowledge about the subjects at hand Tissia Lover (talk) 12:31, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

It's from his twitter page, and you could translate what he typed, right? Tissia Lover (talk) 12:33, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover I don't think that he said his own speeches are annoying. If you continue to add your own opinion to articles you will lose your editing privileges. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:34, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
You there? Tissia Lover (talk) 12:34, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Ingenuity do you mind if I interject here? SkyTheWolf (Talk) 12:35, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @SkyWolf369 feel free, more opinions are always welcome. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:42, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok, could I add that he lost the elections and is now ploughing his garden Tissia Lover (talk) 12:36, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I'll add this tweet as citations and the photo Tissia Lover (talk) 12:36, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover: the fact that he is working in his garden is not relevant to the article. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:37, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Or you will not permitted o lord you westerner Tissia Lover (talk) 12:37, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
So i'll just add he lost the elections then? Tissia Lover (talk) 12:38, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover as long as you write it neutrally, and add reliable sources, that is fine. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 12:39, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Fine then you do it, because I don't think I can after what he did to my people. I promise I won't edit this article again. Tissia Lover (talk) 12:41, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Tissia Lover I would just like to interject Tissia I notice that you are a student editor but even as a student editor you are not immune to the Wikipedia standards against vandalism the people that revert your changes are most likely north american due to the fact that most of america is awake when you make edits. We are just trying to keep Wikipedia as a place for sourced information please if you have any further questions dont be afraid to ask them and as always have a wonderful day you are allowed to edit the article but you need to provide sources for it and make sure it is neutral. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 12:43, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Just to clarify something. If you are not familiar with arabic on his tweet he said that he's going to keep ploughing his land till the next election. I wanted to add that as a citations in his personal life section. That's all. Tissia Lover (talk) 12:46, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 12:49, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
And to make it also clear why i dispise American editors is because most of the citations i make are in arabic language and even though they are from a reputable source they just take them down just because they don't understand it. I have written 2 articles on arab writers which got deleted just because English speaking users don't understand the source so excise me if i hold a grudge just because days of work went into the trash bin Tissia Lover (talk) 12:50, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Sectarianism page
Hi, I saw you undid my edit. Maybe I failed to explain properly the nature of my edit, but I am deleting the existing sections about Lebanon on the Sectarianism page linking them to the main article Sectarianism in Lebanon. The edit you undid was not made by mistake, but because keeping the section about Lebanon separated as it was in "Political" and "Religious" was misleading. The idea would be to keep just one section aboout Lebanon with an overview that then leads on the main page Sectarianism in Lebanon, where I already incorporeted the deleted sections. Hope I did explain my edit better now! Ziribilla (talk) 13:32, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

Alison Stone
Hi - following up on the declined draft for Draft:Alison Stone (poet). In your comment, you indicated that this person does not meet WP:NPOET criteria. By my reading, this person should be eligible under Creative Professional criterion #4, as her printed works are part of the permanent collection of the Poetry Foundation in Chicago (a major cultural institution and the equivalent of a significant gallery for the poetry world). Her poems also appear in their digital collection. I've edited the article to include these citations - let me know what you think. Alexsayde (talk) 18:21, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Alexsayde looks good now, I've accepted the article. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 23:02, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Special:WantedTemplates
Hi! Would it be possible for you to add
/* <nowiki> */
to the top and
/* </nowiki> */
to the bottom of User:Ingenuity/AntiVandal.js? By putting these tags inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend software from transcluding Template:" + data.template.wikitext + ". You will know if the tags worked if Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:" + data.template.wikitext + " no longer shows your javascript page. By fixing these, we can keep the number of entries in Special:WantedTemplates to a minimum. Thank you in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 19:23, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Plastikspork done. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 22:55, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello Ingenuity,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 731 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 1034 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

I am the creator of the draft and since some people spammed submitted it while I was still working on it, can you remove the declined templates from my page? I did not submit it and it makes the draft look impossible to become its own article. Thanks. `~HelpingWorld~` (👽🛸) 02:04, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Question
Why do you keep reverting my edits to the Hate group page? Your edits are entirely nonconstructive. I haven't taken out any of the right-wing hate groups from the See also section so why do you keep removing my references to left-wing hate? This is political censorship and you seem personally biased. --2A00:23C5:61B2:DE01:31F4:D2D4:B978:7BCC (talk) 14:08, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- A couple problems with that -- adding more groups to the See also section of "Hate groups" does seem like political bias. Before adding them, you should make a post on the talk page of the article and get consensus. Second, the See also section is already extremely long and should be trimmed down anyway, instead of adding more entries to the list. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 14:12, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
