On Saturday April 30, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fourth Wikipedia edit-a-thon — or, #guggathon — to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Asian Month, and Art+Feminism. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. Can’t join us in New York? Visit our global MENA Artists Month partnership page to coordinate international and online events as well.

WikiProject Notre Dame and the Indianapolis meetup list
Hi Dominic,
Thank you for making the Indianapolis meetup list. WikiProject Notre Dame focuses on the University of Notre Dame, which only draws about 6% of its students from Indiana. While the University is within Indiana, it might be worth removing the WikiProject from Wikipedia:Meetup/Indianapolis/invite list, since so few members of the WikiProject who are not a part of another Indiana-related WikiProject live in the area.
— Ⓜ️hawk10 (talk) 19:31, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Mhawk10: Thanks for reaching out! My inclination is usually to cast a wide net, especially since there have not been many meetups in Indiana before. I am aware the university is not in Indianapolis—having done that drive before!—but Indy is still one of the close bigger cities, so I thought it worth sharing Indy news there. Some future events may be more relevant to folks farther afield in the state, as well—because we are thinking about forming an Indiana user group. For what it's worth, we are starting a new project at IUPUI working with the library, and will also be working at the state level and looking for partners state-wide, so if you have any connections with Notre Dame, I'd love to talk more.
