This is a very historic pub, probably the oldest in Oxford, and should not be deleted in my view. (The Bear Inn was originally a coaching inn, established in 1242!) I have added more information on this aspect and further external links. I hope this is enough to save it from deletion! Jonathan Bowen 19:57, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe that this article should be deleted. As has been mentioned by Jpbowen the pub has a lot of history and is well worthy of its own article. There seems to be quite a thing at the moment on WP of people wanting to delete articles about historic pubs. They form a key element of our english history and deserve a mention. --Newton2 21:46, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Name and dates
Derek Honey's guide says "In 1432 it changed to the Bear Inn, after Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick (1428-71)". Presumably 1432 is a mistake. Omassey (talk) 18:28, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello SilkTork, I'll be taking up the review for this nomination and will present it to you shortly. I hope you find my feedback helpful. Tayi ArajakateTalk 01:07, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cotswold Archaeology reference is circular.
This reference should not be used... it states clearly that they used Wikipedia as a source. CatfishJim and the soapdish 10:46, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The parts they used from Wikipedia (background history of the pub) are not used for reference purposes. The source is used for their report on what they discovered, which is that the site was a graveyard. SilkTork (talk) 10:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
