- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Greenman (talk) 10:43, 24 May 2022 (UTC)ATU numbers into sandbox
Hi KHR FolkMyth. Thanks for adding the ATU numbers to the entries in my sandbox. I’ve been wondering what, if anything, to do about the individual numbers. They could go into a “list of...” article, and the database I’m gradually building up (helped by the numbers you’ve provided) would allow me to create that, but it would then be quite a bit of work to find references for the ones that Aarne et al don’t mention themselves, and it would need to somehow note any reclassification that has taken place in the past. Multiple numbers would be needed to deal with different sources using different numbers for that reason. For the groups, I’ve simply categorised articles into several groups if they have several ATU numbers for any reason (multiple themes, debatable classification, re-classification etc.) Maybe any use of specific numbers belongs in the articles themselves and not in categories or lists? --Northernhenge (talk) 21:45, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
