"The barrier to change is not too little caring; it is too much complexity... If we have clear and proven answers anytime an organization or individual asks 'How can I help?', then we can get action – and we can make sure that none of the caring in the world is wasted. But complexity makes it hard to mark a path of action for everyone who cares — and that makes it hard for their caring to matter."
Greetings! I've been at Wikipedia since the spring of 2006, and work on a variety of topics, mostly in the life sciences, Canadian issues, and climate change mitigation.
Clayoquot Sound (pronounced “clack-wot”, not “clay-o-quot”), is a beautiful wilderness area on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. In real life, I am a woman in Vancouver and work in the software development industry. I use the account Clayoquot2 for test edits.
Articles to which I've made big contributions include:
The Reviewer's Award for Clayoquot, in appreciation of her patient, thoughtful, and comprehensive review of Cougar. We can work out later where all the cats wandered in from. Marskell 18:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
The Original Barnstar This award is presented to Kla'quot for tracking down an excellent photo for the Fin Whale article and making the extra effort to convince the photographer to release a low-resolution version of it for use on Wikipedia. Well done! Neil916 (Talk) 05:05, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I hereby award this Wikipedia:wikignome award to Clayoquot for help in chiselling away at the mighty lion, which is now featured. cheers, Casliber (talk· contribs) 03:20, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
The Fauna Barnstar To Clayoquot, for all her fine work on furry and not-so-furry critters, culminating in the damn fine Sea Otter.....Casliber (talk· contribs) 03:37, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Editors like you are unusual. You seem to be connected to 'real-life' and create content that is relevant to under-represented groups on Wikipedia. There are women and families that will greatly benefit from your work on Wikipedia for helping them to find answers to difficult questions. I appreciate your sensitivity to creating content that is missing. Barbara (WVS)✐ ✉ 00:03, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". The Environmental Barnstar
Really cool to see sustainable energy as today's featured article. It's a great read and I see you were responsible for its promotion. Thank you for your efforts! Bzweebl (talk • contribs) 17:00, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
