Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Timeline of the Middle Ages, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Henry Tudor (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Link to the Ghana Empire article
I studied the link you pointed us to, and it is very interesting. The page seems to have added a king list section, and made these rulers king of Awkar. This is problematic, since many of the names are noted with regards to the Empire of Ghana. The names on most of the list are associated with either a handful from Arabic near contemporary sources, such as al-Bakri, or oral traditions collected in the ninteenth century. There are other names which come from sources unknown to me, but perhaps from Awkar (located in the desert today). Beepsie (talk) 15:04, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

James I of Scotland
Hi LeftAire. See you've nominated this article for GA. I was the principal editor on this article and so thank you for you're confidence in it. If a reviewer picks up on it unfortunately I will not be back to my books until 5 March at soonest. I'll help on any problems after that date. Thanks again, --Bill Reid | (talk) 17:13, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have taken on the GA review of James I of Scotland. As a resident of Wales, I know little of Scottish history and for the moment have just read the article through once. I will give it a more detailed study in the next few days, and I see that Bill Reid will be back shortly. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:47, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Hernán Cortés
I reverted your addition of the infobox at Hernán_Cortés. I'm not sure what that's supposed to do, but it didn't work - please preview your changes before restoring it. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 03:21, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Right template for royal houses of Africa
Hello LeftAire, I've translated The Royal House of Semou Njekeh Joof from French to English. Unfortunately I don't know which royal template to use in the article's talk page for rating purposes. Since it is not a biography, the template I normally use for royal biographies does not apply (I think). Would you kindly advise me on which template to use? Many thanks for your anticipated assistance. I will just leave the Project Africa template while I await your reply. Thanks again. Best regards. Tamsier (talk) 06:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
WikiProject Former countries introduction
Welcome, LeftAire, to the Former countries WikiProject! You have just become part of an editorial group that focuses on improving Wikipedia's coverage of former country articles. Now that you've joined, the first thing you should do for our cause is add the {{User WPFC}} template to your userpage. Once you have, we will recognize your support with a before your name on the members list!
- Being an official member of our team now, you really should introduce yourself on the members' .
- If you have any questions in the meantime, pose them on the WikiProject's . A more experienced WPFC member, perhaps even myself, will respond to any as quickly as possible.
- Do you consider yourself a very experienced writer of Wiki markup? Let the whole project know by giving yourself a rating from between and on the members' list! (5 means more experienced than Jimmy Wales)
- Still daunted by the layout? Familiarize yourself with the WikiProject by surfing through our Navigation box. You will notice some pretty neat statistics that might actually help you start off with editing.
- If you're still not ready for anything big, the To do list has some articles that practically need no preparation to begin on. The Infobox maintenance section especially. It's articles like these that are dying for your skills!
- Is this advice all but too juvenile for you? I understand. It's hard being that talented. Just remember to tag the talk pages of those new articles you've been creating with our project's template {{WPFC}}.
- Not to bore you again with our talk page, but it is actually where most of our important discussions take place. You may find it useful to watchlist it.
- Be sure to take care and read any explanations we've posted around the WikiProject about its features. But, most of all, try to get to bed on time. However... if sleep is some thing of the past for you, then, by all means, join one of our subprojects, too!
I welcome and thank you again, LeftAire, for joining this project,
Sincerely,
Xuxalliope (talk) 18:19, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

WPFC/HRE edit undo
Hello LeftAire. I undid your adding of an article to the featured list due to formatting issues/clipping. If the article already has the Holy Roman Empire task force banner on it, the JL-Bot will updated the list automatically for us within a week or so. It's update will resolve any formatting issues, so please wait until then. Xuxalliope (talk) 01:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Index of New Spain-related articles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 05:22, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Portal:Kingdom of France
I noticed that you tried to edit something appearing on Portal:Kingdom of France, but instead accidentally edited / (a page which is a redirect to Slash (punctuation)). I think there must be something wrong with the "edit" links on the Portal:Kingdom of France page. It looks to me that the coding for that page wasn't ever really finished. Anyway, if you search for "prefix:Portal:Kingdom of France/", I think it will list all the subpages of the Portal:Kingdom of France page, so you may be able to find the one you meant to edit that way. DYK nomination of Brown Thrasher

- In reply to your message, it's been a pleasure working with you. You asked how long it will be before you see it show up on the main page. It just depends on when any particular editor thinks that subject matter is a good mix for a given day's DYK. Keep an eye on the template we approved. When someone moves it over to a Prep area for the main page, it will be noted on that template. Have a look at the Template:Did you know/Queue page. You can scroll down and get an idea of how everything works. Somebody moves a nomination to a Prep area. Once a prep area is filled, an Administrator approves it, and it moves up to one of the Queues. The Queues move onto the main page according to the table Local Update Times. Sometimes a reviewed nomination makes it onto the main page the same day as approval. Sometimes, it's a week or two or more. It really depends on how the subject matter works in with the rest of a Prep area. If you are going to have more nominations - and I hope you do - I also encourage you to be part of the process itself. Look up at the upper right hand of the Queue page, all the rules and whatnot. I have found that being a part of the process, both reviewing and searching for articles to nominate, has helped make me a better editor. Good luck. Maile66 (talk) 10:57, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

GA nom
No need to apologise, it's all part of the learning curve. You have done a good job getting Battle of Orbetello up to status, perhaps use that as the ideal model article (on prose, comprehensiveness, how sentences are soucred) when you want to nominate something in the near future.
