Napa Valley Museum
I just created a draft for the Napa Valley Museum. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you, Thriley (talk) 17:48, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thriley, I've added some content and two citations. I'm having some difficulty finding news sources that are about the museum. I added the one I found has been added to the draft Netherzone (talk) 18:14, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- Netherzone, Thank you. I’ll do some digging myself. I am a bit surprised there is a lack of quality news about it. Thriley (talk) 18:31, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Sequoia Capital: Request for review
Hello! I recently posted a request to the Sequoia Capital article talk page asking editors who watch the page to review some proposed revisions to the History section. My request can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sequoia_Capital
Sequoia is a California-based company that has made investments in numerous companies headquartered in the state. My proposed History section details these investments and provides additional information about key personnel and operational developments over the past five decades.
Due to my conflict of interest (I work for Sequoia Capital) I will not make any changes to the article myself. Instead, I’ve reached out to experienced Wikipedia editors to review my proposals and hopefully implement changes when they believe the new material will improve the article. I have been working with two editors already to refine my draft, and I would like to add a few more voices to make sure everything looks good.
Thank you so much! VS for Sequoia Capital (talk) 22:36, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Dear WikiProject California, You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article on Los Angeles to Featured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here! theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/she) 00:19, 10 January 2022 (UTC) To opt out of future mailings about LA meetups, please remove your name from this list. |

Ranchos of California infobox suggested
I believe the individual articles for the ranchos found in the List of ranchos of California would benefit from an infobox. Suggested contents are readily available from the list itself:
- Map / illustration
- Grant name
- Date
- Grantor
- Grantee
- Size
- Land case number
- Location (city, county)
- Coordinates (center of grant?)
It would take considerable work to propagate such an infobox, but perhaps someone could write a script. Thoughts? — btphelps (talk to me) (what I've done) 01:09, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
L'Ermitage Beverly Hills: Request for review
Hello! Last month I posted a request to the L'Ermitage Beverly Hills article talk page asking anyone active there to review my proposed revisions to the History section. (The current material is largely unsourced and includes a lot of details that I have been unable to verify.) My request can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:L%27Ermitage_Beverly_Hills
I'm an employee of EOS, the company managing L'Ermitage, and thus have a clear COI. As such, I'm reaching out to experienced editors to review my draft. Hoping someone here can help, or at least steer me in the right direction. Thanks! Mcg2132 (talk) 14:27, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Munger Hall, UC Santa Barbara
I created a draft for Munger Hall, a proposed dormitory at UC Santa Barbara. Its been in the news as it will house 4,500 students and 94% of the rooms will have no windows. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Thriley (talk) 17:30, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.
)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.
