Question (AWB)
I purchased a new laptop, my previous one crashed and everything in it wiped off. My question is, how do I reinstall AWB in my new laptop? Celestina007 (talk) 10:40, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Same way that you installed it the first time? See here for the download link and basic instructions. If you need further assistance let me know. Primefac (talk) 12:58, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Ah! Thanks !!!! Celestina007 (talk) 15:42, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! I just tried it out and it works just fine. Thanks once again. Celestina007 (talk) 07:49, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you!
Primefac, Thank you! I have reviewed your edits and noted they are very good! Ponydices (talk) 14:27, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Um... thanks? Not really sure what edits you're referring to, but I'm always happy to be doing good work I guess. Primefac (talk) 14:36, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Warning
Hi @Primefac:, Please tell me this a test edit or vandalism, whereas this is editor's first edit. Please respond as soon as possible. Fade258 (talk) 11:13, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Couldn't say, as it's difficult to tell from a one-off edit. If we AGF then calling it "unconstructive" is more than sufficient. Without a pattern of many similar edits it isn't really possible to tell if it was a mistake, test, vandalism, or something else entirely. Primefac (talk) 11:47, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
User:Anaplastic large cell lymphoma
Hi @Primefac: Came across this while helping editor user:Joflaher at the Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). They created the article and executed a copy from sandbox to the wrong namespace. There is also the main article in article space Anaplastic large-cell lymphoma and there is a redirect Anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Thankfully the redirect stopped the page move when I attempted it. I think you can probably just need a delete on the user, as the redirect and the main article look ok. Can you fix it please. scope_creepTalk 22:17, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- It seems to be more complex, the revision history has been damaged. The editor has been copying the articles to a sandbox, editing them and copying them wholesale back to the article, overwriting the previous one. There seems to be quite a few of them. Recreation of a page
Recreation of a page [1] that was deleted previously [2] as created by a banned user in violation of block or ban. TheChronium 16:40, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- TheChronium, Phaans is not currently blocked. If you think this is a sockpuppet recreating the page, then you should file an SPI to have that checked. If they are socking, then a {{db-g5}} tag is the way to proceed. Primefac (talk) 21:35, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have launched a spi to have that checked. TheChronium 14:12, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Clarification of WP:AFCP permission decline
I was wondering if you could clarify this [3] decline you did of User:TrangaBellam's AfC permission request. Specifically, the part about having too many WP:DSALERTs. Could you clarify what you meant when you declined based on "multiple DS alerts"? Chess (talk) (please use {{reply to|Chess}}

- Have you, Primefac, checked the validity of the issued warnings? ARBIPA is a highly contentious zone and most of the issuers have ended up blocked or topic-banned. (Administrator @RegentsPark: might have some thoughts.) TrangaBellam (talk) 06:04, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- The latest two warnings are from Learn Indology and Kylo Ren III. The latter apologized for mistakenly reverting me (and abusing the templated warning). The former has a history of edit-warring to push POV content and weaponising 3RR; see 3RR archives for multiple threads concerning him. It is to be also noted that the talk-page discussion was in my favor.
- Going back, there are two aggressive threads by Safron710 and অভিরূপ দাশশর্মা. Both have been indefinitely blocked on my request.
- Then, a warning by Run n fly, who has been since discovered to be the sockpuppet of a notoriously tendentious user (and blocked). Old users note that his previous username used to display the same behavior, I was subject to.
- Before that, two warnings by LukeEmily. We have colloborated in other articles since then and you can ping them to ask what they (currently) think of their old heat-of-the-moment warnings. TrangaBellam (talk) 06:25, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- FWIW, I don't see TrangaBellam as a problem editor. Quite the contrary, actually. --RegentsPark (comment) 17:03, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- I can take a second look. As far as the DS comment, I know that alerts are not any sort of indication of wrongdoing, but rarely have I found them placed as anything other than a warning. I will also note that at the time of the decline, a few now-blocked users were not blocked, so I cannot comment on that part because clearly there was no obvious wrongdoing on the part of said now-blocked editor. Primefac (talk) 17:09, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- It was mainly concerning to me to see DS alerts treated as a warning in an official capacity when granting a pseudopermission. I get that DS alerts are basically used as warnings but officially they're not so it's concerning to see them sort of officially being treated as warnings. It also might cause systemic bias issues given that some groups of people have broader DS areas than others, e.g. all India related articles are covered under DS. Chess (talk) (please use

on reply) 17:30, 22 August 2021 (UTC)- That's fair, and I will keep that in mind going forward, though you will note that my reasons included other issues in combination with those DS alerts, so it was less of a singular issue and more of a "this is one of a relatively long list of things." That being said, though, I do get where you're coming from. Primefac (talk) 17:33, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

One UI
I believe you deleted some revisions from One UI from a now blocked IP. They came back and did it again so this revision may need to be deleted as well. Notfrompedro (talk) 17:22, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Meta templates
Just thought I'd say thanks for starting the discussion. It's been on my mind for a while that it's a very inefficient way of doing things. Also, please don't take anything I say as being against the proposal to get rid of them – I agree we should – I just think it's worth having a very thorough discussion about the best way to do it.
