- The REST API (the backend for the mobile apps) delivers highly outdated content on some pages. While this seems to be very rare, one page affected is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. As of 11 April 2021, mobile app users see this version from September 2020, so they won't be able to reply in any threads there.[14]
Notes
- ^ a b Users with a confirmed email address will get an email by default. This can be turned off in their preferences.
- ^ Shown in Vector (default), Monobook, and Modern skins. Looks like other alerts in Timeless and MinerveNeue skins.
- ^ a b System-level push notification. This is very attention-getting (ding/vibrate), but if the user blocks notifications from the app, there is no in-app alert.
- ^ See also meta:Community Wishlist Survey 2021/Mobile and apps/Mobile editnotices and phab:T201613
- ^ Shown in Vector (default), Monobook and Modern and Timeless skins. Not shown in MinervaNeue skin (hidden behind a tiny "Page issues" link).
- ^ a b Talk pages open in mobile browser, so same as Mobile Web
- ^ a b If the message is at MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-foo, the user will see
<abusefilter-warning-foo>
, and not the content of that page - ^ a b Links in the message open in the browser, and sometimes go to the wrong language wiki
