About Draft:Manuel García Gargallo (spanish historian and writer)
Good morning Aspening, thanks for the help. I understand the precautions but I am not the protagonist of the text, which already has an entry in Wikidata and three wikipedias: Spanish, Catalan and Aragonese. How can I prove that I am not the protagonist of the entry? Thanks and regards.SVC74 (talk) 18:50, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @SVC74: Looks like the autobiography warning was a mistake on my part - sorry about that! However, the article is a bit promotional in tone and so if it were submitted to AfC for a move into mainspace it may not pass muster. I would recommend having a look at Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view and reading featured article or good article-level biographies of other modern-day writers to learn more about expected formatting and tone. Examples of biographies of living writers with this status are J. K. Rowling and William Gibson. Aspening (talk) 18:58, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Got it.
Understood. My apologies. I am relatively knew to editing on Wiki. I have reached out for guidance and taken the necessary steps to better learn the system. I have edited this particular article before. Can you help me understand the issue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfwkingsmanship (talk • contribs)
- @Dfwkingsmanship: Before removing a maintenance tag, have a look at what the tag says and make edits to resolve the issue accordingly. In this case, the issue in the maintenance tag is that it was edited for undisclosed payments. If you look in the page history, you can see that the article was created by an undisclosed paid editor. This person was blocked for using multiple accounts to create articles, which they apparently had been paid to write. This is problematic because paid editing must be disclosed per Wikipedia's terms of use and because these articles usually are promotional in some way.
- In order to remove the tag, the article needs to be reworked to be more neutral. Have a look at Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy - some common issues surrounding neutral point of view are placing undue weight on certain positive and/or negative aspects of the subject, writing that is styled like an advertisement, and excessively citing sources that are affiliated with the subject in some way.
