Pyrenean Mountain Dog DYK
Yakikaki, my apologies I have just realised I never thanked you properly for your review at Template:Did you know nominations/Pyrenean Mountain Dog, thank you very much for prompt review. Kind regards, Cavalryman (talk) 04:13, 12 July 2021 (UTC).
- It was a pleasure, Cavalryman. An enjoyable read and an easy review! Best, Yakikaki (talk) 10:31, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Yvoire. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Eric talk 12:49, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Eric, what's promotional about it? It's a perfectly normal navbox linking articles which have a subject in common. Yakikaki (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi- It looks travel-guide-ish to me. I don't claim to be an authority on this, but I suspect WP:NOTTRAVEL might apply. Les Plus Beaux Villages de France is an association to promote tourism. I've spent time in several of those villages, and yes, they are pretty. But I think it's debatable as to whether that tourism designation adds value to our encyclopedia articles. Eric talk 13:52, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply and for sharing your thoughts and concerns, Eric. Well, I'm honestly a bit taken aback by this, as my edits were perfectly innocent. And I can't see anything in any of the guidelines you refer to which would make adding a navbox of this kind contrary to the spirit of Wikipedia. There's no promotional material here, nobody's encouraging anyone to use the services of this association or anything similar. There's no puffery. There's no breaking NPOV. There's nothing which runs contrary to what the fine essay on advertisement warns about. It's a normal navbox, linking several articles on the same subject (and as such I may say it's almost a school book example of what navboxes should do). I frankly don't care if those villages are beautiful or ugly or whatever. I just wanted to add a convenient way for the interested reader to easily navigate between several articles on a common theme. (For some of them, there are no other navboxes, by the way.) I hope this may convince you that it's not a nasty attempt at tricking people to travel to France! ;) Kind regards, Yakikaki (talk) 14:04, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- I certainly did not mean to imply anything nefarious or even incorrect on your part. I'm just not convinced that we should be in the business of categorizing villages as being designated "pretty" by a tourism association. But I'm just one voice here. I just wanted to get you and others to think about it. You should carry on with your project if you feel it has value. Eric talk 16:04, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
