- Thanks to User:Suntag for this improvement which I will be trying now. One question though is whether the provision of 5 search terms is enough? For a recent example where I needed more, please see Talk:Jefferies tube. Colonel Warden (talk) 17:58, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately, this query doesn't return any search results at all. Is it possible to remove "-wikipedia" from the search query? Jarble (talk) 04:02, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- The subtemplates of {{find sources multi}} have recently been updated, so now the only one of those links that doesn't return Wikipedia-related results is the Google web search. It's probably not worth adding in an exception for the Wikipedia article seeing how rare that error is and how easy it is to correct it from the search page once you click the link. (If someone converts find sources multi to Lua, though, it wouldn't be very expensive to add the exception in.) — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 01:04, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Removing techical restrictions
I've been trying to use this template to add relevant sources to specific sections of articles. Unfortunately, it is impossible to use this template within specific articles. Whenever I use it, a message is displayed, in bold red text: "Error: Please do not use this template in articles." Jarble (talk) 00:40, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- It does that so that people don't add sources notices to articles themselves, a practice discouraged per WP:ELNO. You can add it to the talk page instead; it should work fine there. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 00:59, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Reason for chosing Google Inc. services?
I hope that this has nothing to do with the Google money donation to Wikimedia. But should a free encylopedia link to a free search engine (e.g. http://www.yacy.net) instead of an unfree search site like Google? 78.35.192.171 (talk) 20:14, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
