In reference to Editing added to SAHARANPUR page
Respected sir, I’m not editing anything irrelevant I have references from relevant books and other Wikipedia pages of Marathas conquest in 1757- onwards in north India already available there. Please check them and I’m free to learn anything from you also
Sujasbir@gmail.com Schon.steels (talk) 08:29, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- If you have references you need to include them, see Help:Referencing for beginners. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:31, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Unable to use tools of references
Respected Mr David, I m grateful you offered me the link to work according to “Help: references for beginners.” For any new submission to the page. But I’m sorry to say that I’m new to such tools and couldn’t make it up. I have valid information & references to explain the missing Chain of history. I m a research scholar who works on rare unexplored scenes of history and volunteer in free classes for kids. Please help me out in other way if affordable at your end. With Regards Sujasbir@gmail.com Schon.steels (talk) 16:11, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- If you don't feel capable of editing a Wikipedia article directly, another option is to use the article's talk page to propose changes, being sure to supply details of the published reliable sources to support your proposed text. --David Biddulph (talk) 16:16, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Inquiry
Good afternoon David, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking to recover the page, or at least the text, for an old user page I had created. I understand why it was deleted, and am trying to learn more about wikipedia, but I would be most indebted if I could recover the lost info. I'm at a career juncture that I need help on. Can you point me in the right direction? I'd be most indebted. Thank you! the user name is Stanton478. Thank you! -DGH — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:140:8600:D11:D52D:9086:2A1:6B0E (talk) 14:05, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
- As I said at WP:Teahouse#Text recovery question from deleted user page, any recovery can be done only by an admin. In my reply there I pinged the admin who (at the request of the user who created the page) deleted the file, but if they do not respond you could ask any admin or at WP:Requests for undeletion. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:13, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
ROWING OAR SPORTS
DEAR DAVID, YOU HAVE DELETED TWICE REFERENCE TO AN OAR TYPE CALLED THE RANDALLFOIL. IT IS A LEGAL, EXISTING AND USED OAR. THE WORLD ROWING GOVERNING BODY APPROVED THE DESIGN IN AUGUEST 2018 AND I WAS ASKED TO PRESENT THE DESIGN AT THE FISA COACHES CONFENCE IN BERLIN NOV 2018. THE DESIGN IS BEING USED NOW GLOBALY. I CAN FIND MANY EXAMPLES OF COMMERCIAL ENTITIES WITH WIKIPEDIA ENTRIES INCLUDING STARWARS, BHP, MCDONNALD AND PEPSI. PLEASE ADVISE. - The place to discuss the article is on its talk page, after you have made the mandatory declaration of paid editing and read about conflict of interest, and please don't SHOUT. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:50, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Headgear while rowing
Hi David, I was looking at your user page when I found this File:Rowing_-_USA_Lwt_4_@_World_Champs_2003.jpg. Do you know what this Nike headgear worn by the rowers is known as ? --DBigXrayᗙ 13:26, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- I would call it a visor, but Wikipedia seems to refer to it as a sports visor. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:32, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- I don't wear one; not enough sunshine in Britain. :-( --David Biddulph (talk) 14:29, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Sailing on the Thames
Hello David - Thank you for your feedback re Sailing on the Thames. Could you clarify, for this rather long-term IT user and teacher, but relative stranger to Wikipedia editing, what was wrong with my recent edit? Thank you. Dornie
Hello David,
Sorry about the entry on Dornie. Something went wrong with the edit. I was intending to go back in and re-edit it and add references etc.
Cheers, William Jamie Stuart 11:20, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I assumed that you were having trouble with the edit; that's why I marked it as reversion of a good-faith edit. Safest to check with "Show preview" before you save. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:23, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you David. Jamie Jamie Stuart 19:06, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Metre
OOPS. I was trying to revert the valdalism / good faith edit by Universe128 who changed the year from 2019 to 2018, but I didn't check the facts closely enough, and didn't realise I caught your edit in my reversal. Sorry about that, and thanks for fixing it. Carlroddam (talk) 03:26, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- Understood. Easily done. --David Biddulph (talk) 03:27, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
Kendal MC
Hi David. Thanks for this which is right by any reasonable standard of sanity. However, I note the related problem that the current infobox image is of such a son/daughter-of-Satan corruption, perversion and general wrongness. I wonder if we can fix it? Cheers DBaK (talk) 19:05, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
Non-free images
Thank you for your note on my talk page. I pick up the picture from an other wiki web page for the First Sea Lord. I believe if it is ok from a wiki page it is for the first Sea lord web page. I do have difficulties to embed picture in some web page (Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy as exemple. Let me know what could I do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by P2bn (talk • contribs) 17:05, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Have you read the links I provided, to WP:non-free images and to WP:non-free use rationale? --David Biddulph (talk) 19:43, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
Canary Islands
Why u change order of Canary? Alphabetic order, population order and who appears in law.
Why is the reason you change Santa Cruz first? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greatwish (talk • contribs) 08:40, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
False, the correct form is: Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. See the Spanish version: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canarias
The user Greatwish, it's a puppet account of Enciclopiedicomutante, Nicert, Canary88 and Atlantecan. All these are puppet accounts that have been blocked in Spanish, see here Canary88, But he continues to create puppet accounts to vandalize.--87.223.111.202 (talk) 09:19, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
The user has created another account Spanishwikilp.--87.223.111.202 (talk) 13:38, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

you shouldnt remove references in 'divorce'
if you wanna fix it then fix it
but you shoudlnt remove references in 'divorce' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A601:A024:B9B:C11:5E80:DA2E:EB1D (talk) 13:05, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- If you had taken the trouble to look at my edit you would have seen that far from removing any references I was reinstating the reference which you had removed. I also removed the misplaced external links which you had added. My edit summary and my message on your user talk page made that clear. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:18, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
What do you think about AIs on Wikipedia?
Hi David Biddulph,
I’m a researcher working on improving the Artificial Intelligences (AIs) that support Wikipedia. I saw your post on Teahouse, and I’m personally contacting a small handful of editors to make sure your voice is heard as we build and refine these AIs.
Will you please provide an interview to share your thoughts about AI on Wikipedia? It would only take about 30 minutes over phone or video chat. We will send you a $15 Amazon gift card as a way to thank you for your time.
I am working in collaboration with Wikimedia Foundation staff to do this research, so if you decide to participate, your opinion could help build the future of Wikipedia. Hope to talk to you soon!
PS. You can learn more about our study here.

The twinkle template on my user page
Level 0? Why Level 0? Woshiyiweizhongguoren (🇨🇳) 12:24, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- I could have given you a higher level warning but I was assuming good faith and giving you the benefit of the doubt as a new user who needs to learn. --David Biddulph (talk) 12:28, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- I mean, don't the Twinkle templates start at one? Woshiyiweizhongguoren (🇨🇳) 13:55, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- WP:Twinkle/Preferences - Warn user - Custom warning templates to display. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:30, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- I'm kind of confused. If there are four levels per template (numbered 1 to 4), the where does the "0" come from? P. S. I just recently installed Twinkle; it helped me with recent changes patrolling. Woshiyiweizhongguoren (🇨🇳) 14:43, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, you're confused. If you want to know about the history of {{uw-vandalism0}} you go to Template:uw-vandalism0 and look at the "History" tab, and also at the talk page, and at WP:Templates for discussion/Log/2013 April 15#Template:Uw-vandalism0. You can also look at the history of Template:Uw-vandalism1, and at the relevant discussions in the archive at Template talk:Uw-vandalism1. --David Biddulph (talk) 15:02, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, now I get it! Everything makes sense now, thank you. Woshiyiweizhongguoren (🇨🇳) 18:50, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
