Hi there, my name is Miyagawa. I'm not Japanese - in fact, the name originally came to me from a different encyclopaedia - Microsoft Encarta 1995. It was the surname of one of the writers of the article on Japan, and I was looking for a character name for the Legend of the Five Rings Roleplaying Game when it launched in 1997; it became my character's name and afterwards my online pseudonym. Had the surprise of my life when I found out it was a type of satsuma. I can say that I've eaten a Miyagawa.
This is a big year for a couple of my main interests. The 50th anniversary of Star Trek hits on September 8, and the 25th anniversary of Gene Roddenberry's death is on October 24, so two big dates for Trek and ones that I want to make the main page a themed area at least on the first day. Progress is going well, although it is irritating to have to hold off doing DYK's on the subject till the end of July!
Then of course there is the 2016 Summer Olympics starting on August 5. Four years ago the DYK work was a lot of fun with the London Olympics, so I'm very much looking forward to this work once again. I'd still like to improve articles related to the NAAFI at some point. Thank you to everyone who fixes any issues with my prose - I'm really very grateful. I'm happy to respond to requests for sources, in particular regarding Star Trek. The complete list of the source books that I can easily access are here. Miyagawa (talk) 15:48, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
It is my pleasure to honour Miyagawa with this Alexander the Great Triple Crown for their amazing work on good and featured content on the English Wikipedia. Well done! — → Call meHahc21 05:27, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
