Re closing of Mitchells & Butlers' Ground
Peter, when you execute a move that is listed at WP:RM you should properly close the RM per the instructions at WP:RMCI. Failing to do so leaves the RM open in backlog and its confusing for regular closers to find RMs that don't need any attention. If you need assistance in the future, please contact an admin to help. I closed this one for you. --Mike Cline (talk) 20:07, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
RE: Hernando de Soto
Peter, I placed an answer to your question on my Talk page, but I wanted to answer you here as well. There is a standing request for comment on the Hernando de Soto Talk page which outlines the serious issues with the so-called "White Ranch" site, including the possibility that site represents a hoax. The two users calling themselves "LisaWalsh" and "DalvarMartinez" have been asked repeatedly to address those issues and have repeatedly refused to do so. Accordingly, the edits were reverted until those questions have been addressed, particularly since Boyer has published a peer-reviewed paper on the work at the Richardson site.Veritas20132014 (talk) 01:51, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. your revert about VFD
Hi, concerning https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=VFD&oldid=prev&diff=609948330 : You seem to say that disambiguation pages should not list self-contained definitions but only links to existing pages. I don't agree and I think on the contrary often those pages list self-contained definitions, and this is very valuable content of WP. Am I wrong? Can you point to a guideline page that confirms your argument? Thanks! (PS: I also think it's wrong when you say (1) no link to a relevant article: WP:VFD is a relevant article, and also when you say "it's unlikely that such a page will be created" [since it already does exist ; and also, since google finds 53 000 hits for the exact phrase "vote for deletion"].) — MFH:Talk 13:35, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
You can at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

FYI
Hi PJ. Just so you know we had the list at that page because it was where the original block was placed and that helped to inform people that weren't aware of the situation. While I understand your reasoning for the move we should make David J Johnson and Betty Logan aware of the move so that they can watchlist the new page. Thanks for your time. - Thanks for your followup posts to their talk pages. I should have mentioned that I thought my pings in the above message would let them know but your personal touch of leaving specific messages is appreciated. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 22:28, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure what was counted as a ping, or whether it was possible to know whether a ping had been successful - there are options to switch them off. Peter James (talk) 22:44, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yep those pings can be tricky. I hope that you have a pleasant week. MarnetteD|Talk 23:04, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Page added to my watchlist. Many thanks & regards, David J Johnson (talk) 13:07, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
