Introduction
I'm Tyler, an administrator and amateur copy-editor. If you are interested in my editing history, please click the "statistics" link at the top of this page. My in-depth contribution history is here.
Since joining Wikipedia in July 2005, I have contributed to more than thirty good and featured articles, reviewed countless others, and merged hundreds of lists and short articles. It took a team of dedicated writers to work on those articles—in many cases, I was not alone. I started the Star Wars WikiProject in February 2006, and was extremely active in the outstanding Final Fantasy WikiProject from 2005 to 2007. Shortly thereafter, I shifted my focus to copy-editing articles, advising editors, and reviewing featured article candidates. I was fairly inactive in 2008 and 2009, but I'm back in full swing as of October 2010.
I encourage collaborative editing, a wonderful concept in which editors use their proficiencies to cover the deficiencies of others. This approach ensures optimal quality, identifies strengths and weaknesses, and generates a powerful network of like-minded colleagues. Wikipedia is like an MMORPG: people of every "skill class" are needed to complete the task. Many people can "fly solo", but they will burn out fast—especially if they are weak at either writing or researching.
