Fourth dimension in art

I don't revert edits by experienced editors, preferring rather to discuss the issue with them. In this case, it was your removing the term War Between the States in the article Sculpture of the United States. Here is what wikipedia has to say about the phrase. " UDC efforts to convince the United States Congress to adopt the term, beginning in 1913, were unsuccessful. Congress has never adopted an official name for the war. The name "War Between the States" is inscribed on the USMC War Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.". It seems to me that if it okay for Arlington National Cemetery it should be okay with wikipedia. Yes, the American Civil War is the more common term, but since the reference was in connection to memorials to the participants in that conflict, taking a bit of a Southern viewpoint seeded appropriate, a nod to acknowledge their great losses. Jill Biden
Hey, thanks for updating the birthday, I saw the tweet too. Do you think we can reference the the tweet itself as a ref? The ref you left in place (next to the birthday) still says the wrong birthday which we obviously want to at least remove. I was hoping to try and find a better ref but that seems almost impossible, too many people who are likely mostly copying from us and our ref. James of UR (talk) 20:07, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
- Since it's from her official Twitter account, I think we can cite it as a reference. The White House's official Twitter account also wished her a happy birthday today so that should work as a source too. --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 21:10, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Hemlock. Because you listed "Japanese military history" as an area of interest on the WikiProject Military history page, I thought you might be able to lend some help.
I'm looking for some third parties to review a problem editor who (in my opinion) continues to violate the NPOV policy of Wikipedia on the page of a Pacific War aviator, Mitsuo Fuchida. After exhausting myself trying to maintain viable content in the "Controversy" section, I'm asking for a page ban for this user. If you have time and motivation, I'd really appreciate your consideration to review this issue. The Noticeboard Request is to be found here: [1] I hate to take anyone's time, but this problem is why many won't trust Wikipedia. Thanks for your consideration.--TMartinBennett (talk) 18:48, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Birch egg.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Birch egg.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 11:55, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Notification of imminent suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next several days. ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
