Hello
Try againDCollins52Tell me what you think 21:05, 16 December 2008 (UTC) No, I'm not a moderator, I'm just a member of the Welcoming Committee. It's our job to get new users acquainted with Wikipedia and help them with any problems they have. Also, on Wikipedia there is no such thing as a moderator. We do have certain users who are granted administrator status, and it's basically their job to grant protection to pages when it is requested, delete pages which are submitted to Articles for Deletion and block users or I.P. addresses that continue to go against Wikipedia policies like the Neutral Point of View. TheXenocide (talk) 19:41, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- Projects? Well, the only one I am in is Military History. All I can say about them is that you should join one about a subject you are interested in. However, I would not suggest joining any until you are a little more familiar with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. TheXenocide (talk) 20:06, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you can just remove your name from the list and say in the summary you decided to leave. You're free to join and leave any project as you want. TheXenocide (talk) 20:09, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, ask as many questions as you need to be comfortable. Getting used to Wikipedia can be difficult. TheXenocide (talk) 20:17, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm usually nearby my computer for at least a few hours a day, so I'll always respond to questions fairly quickly. However, if I'm not available you can always post a question on a Village Pump. TheXenocide (talk) 20:26, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Adoption
Hi! I see you would like to be adopted. I'm currently have two spaces I'd like to fill. If you accept my offer, just reply to this message on my talk page and give me a name you want your future adoption subpage to be. Cheers! Leujohn (talk) 03:57, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Done! Your adoption subage can be found here and lessons here. If you ever lose the link to your adoption subpage, just type User:Dcollins52/dcollins in the Search bar and clik go. The link to the lessons will be found on your adoption subpage. Have fun! Leujohn (talk) 02:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see how you were rude in your question at all. I do not understand what you mean by "the thing," but I will tell you that in order to graduate, you need to take all the required courses, and 3 selective ones. The required courses are what I would say as very basic things a wikipedian should know. The selective courses are to get you on your way until you can be on WP:Admin Coaching, should you choose to be an admin when you become more experienced, or is just good to know to get you on your way. I'm usually on at 8-12 UTC on weekdays, and my times on weekends are... pretty unstable. Cheers! Leujohn (talk) 06:12, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Re:Userpage Design
I'd love to design a userpage for you. If you have a color scheme that you would like, please leave it on my talk page. Also, before I create it, I need some more content to create it around, such as about you, some userboxes, and anything else. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 17:14, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- I notice you already placed a Wikiproject Bible tag on your userpage. When you put those on your userpage, remove the ' tl| ' inside of the double brackets. Edit your userpage for an example. You can look at other people's userpages and take them from there. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 16:04, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

- Oh, and by the way, when you leave notes on talk pages, every time you leave a new note under an already existing topic, place : in front of the first time you make a new comment. Second time requires two ::, third time :::, and so on. It indents your message so they don't run on. If you would like an example, click the [edit] link on my topic and take a look at how I did it. Re: Dendodge
Yeah I oppose, so what? I have my reasons, and that comment you posted on my talk does not follow WP:Consensus. My viewpoint is not your viewpoint, and the title on that comment is simply rude. If you want me to support, you better give me a good reason to, and because of your rudeness, I don't think there is much chance I will change my vote. Leujohn (talk) 11:05, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your participation in my recent RfA, which failed with 61/52/7; whether you supported, opposed or remained neutral.
Special thanks go out to Wizardman and Malinaccier for nominating me, and I will try to take everyone's comments on board. Thanks again for the trust the community has placed in me. A special Christmas song for you all can be found at the right hand side of this message! |
Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 15:56, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Re:Sig
See, if you were to post a statement that has to do with your sig, you would put a : in front of your comment if it was the first reply to the topic, two :: if it is the second reply to a topic, ::: for third, and so on. Try it on my talk page. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 16:18, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- No. See, you made a post called my sig. If you were making a post similar to that topic, in front of your message, put the colons. See and take a look at my message. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 16:22, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:RFA?
Well, you only have 6 mainspace contributions so far. Most admin candidates that make it usually have at a minimum of 2,000.
To become an administrator:
- You have to be mature. You can't go off the deep end and get angry. Instead, resolve the issue quietly.
- You should show good knowledge of policy. Administrators have to understand policy well to be good admins.
- You should participate in a wide variety of projects, such as WP:AFD, WP:AIV, WP:CSD, to name a few.
- Respond to issues left on your talk page left by other members quickly. Do not use bad tone when you are replying.
- Take criticism well. We all make mistakes, it is how you learn from them that makes you a good editor.
Hope this helps. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 16:53, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Mainspace are technically article contributions. Anything that doesn't have a User: or Wikipedia: in front of it. By the way, you do not have to make a new section for everything on my talk page. Use one section, then place your comments under it with the : in front of it to indent it. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 17:05, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. But, I would not recommend running for WP:RFA yet. Get about 500 mainspace contributions, then apply for WP:AWB, and get a WP:Editor review. ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 17:14, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, it would be helpful to bring an article to WP:FA status. ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 17:25, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- The links should explain them. By the way, click on my preferences--->gadgets--->and check Twinkle. You will have many more options at the top of each page. Cheers, ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 19:02, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Wikibot for me
Denbot isn't really a 'proper' bot - it's just another account I use to avoid flooding my normal account (and Special:RecentChanges) with WP:AWB edits to talk pages. If you want something similar, simply file a WP:BRFA. I'll help you if you don't understand how to do that. Dendodge TalkContribs 18:08, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Or you could get a 'proper' bot by following the advice at WP:MKBOT - I can't help you there, though, since it's way over my head. Dendodge TalkContribs 18:09, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Apologies
You were forgiven a long time ago. I didn't expect to you to know about WP:COOL, but I must say that editor review comes after the adoption program, so I will not answer your review. (The other people already said what I was gonna say anyway.) Looking forward to completing your courses. Leujohn (talk) 09:05, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- As I find more and more offensive messages from you in my userspace, I would like you to explain this kind of behavior. Heed this warning: you can get blocked for it. Leujohn (talk) 10:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

User talk:DCollins52/Editnotice Hello. If you are here to vandalize my page, take this warning: you don't want to. I have zero tolerance to vandalism and I will report you to WP:AIV. If you're not here to vandalize, feel free to leave me a message, but please read this message before you send it.
If you are here to ask that I undo an edit I've done, notify me so that I will know what to avoid when editing, then just do it what it should be.
I will always reply on your talk page. Please notify me if you want the reply to be written elsewhere. Thanks!
PS: If you want to make a in-edit message like this for your talk page, just create a page called User talk:*INSERT USERNAME HERE*/Editnotice (For me, it would be User talk:DCollins52/Editnotice) and type whatever you want the message to be. When you save the page, the message will automatically appear in the edit window. Dcollins52Tell me what you think 23:45, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of browser- based rpg and MMORPGs
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of browser- based rpg and MMORPGs, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Is redundant with List of multiplayer browser games, and is unsourced, and badly written.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Re:offer for admin coaching?
I'm going to have to turn you down as of now. My main reason for this is that you are not really close to being ready for adminship, having only been on Wikipedia for two months and not having been very actively editing in any area except for the user talk space. While I have decided not coach you, I have some suggestions to help put you on the right track:
- Edit articles, not user talk pages. Wikipedia is about writing articles, not making friends (though you will become friends with some editors invariably). See WP:MYSPACE
- Read WP:ADMIN to understand what it means to be an administrator. Also read WP:ARL to learn policy.
- Your message to me on my talk page made me uneasy. Gaining adminship is not a "rise to power," but a position of trust granted to you by the community so that you can serve the community. Keep this in mind in future administrative areas.
- Perhaps look into adoption.
Good luck, Malinaccier (talk) 23:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Under best circumstances you could be ready in about seven months with 4 thousand well spent edits. I realize this sounds like a lot, but this time will fly by when you find a niche in editing that you enjoy and you keep at it. Best of luck, Malinaccier (talk) 00:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
