This is for your words of support on his talk page regarding what happened to him - the definition of what this barnstar means, "being nice without being asked". Thanks. Will(Speak to Me/Breathe)(Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash) 10:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

They've been around for at least a year, I think. I don't know about any AN discussion about the banner, though. Will(Speak to Me/Breathe)(Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash) 20:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Re: Hildanknight
Thanks for pointing that out - goodness! I hope all turns out okay. -- Natalya 15:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Surely that should be 'has voted'? edward (buckner) 20:38, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah, you are correct! I shall change that! Thank you! Ripberger 20:39, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I borrowed your little banner, however. edward (buckner) 20:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I got it from someone on Giano's talkpage but I can't remember who. I hope Giano can change things or at least push things into the right direction. Ripberger 20:45, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
My Rfa
My effort to regain adminship was unsuccessful, and I'll do what I can to ensure your opinion of my suitability for adminship improves. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to voice your opinion.--MONGO 19:50, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Info removal
By the way, you are more than welcome to contact me as well, which may help in that I can remove it from the generally accessible history. Oversight removes it from admin-accessible history, so letting me, or any admin, know, will do about 90% of the removal. Thanks. -- Avi (talk) 04:48, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I was confused between deletion and oversight. Thanks for the clarification. Ripberger (talk) 04:52, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
You might also want to take your questions/concerns to WP:AN, wp:rfa is for the discussion on the process to become an admin. Not what admins should/shouldn't do.---BalloonmanPoppaBalloon 06:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
To clarify, I was saying that there was personal information on the RFA talk page that needed excising. I was asking that administrators on that page delete the personal information. I also just wanted people on that page to be more cautious on discussing who was what age for their safety and security. I probably should have taken it to WP:AN as you said. Mea culpa. My personal frustration is that I note these kinds of things and alert people, but it just keeps popping up. It never ends and people do not have an understanding of personal safety on the web. I'll drop a note on WP:AN. Thanks. Ripberger (talk) 06:42, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
BLP category and tag
I was wondering why you added this BLP notice and this Living people category to James A. McDonald? He coached the Villanova football team in 1895 and 1896, I would think that it's pretty obvious he can't be a living person at this point. Jrcla2 (talk) 21:15, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Sorry. I must have gotten too template-happy. You can remove them if you haven't already. I think I misread the dates as 1985 to 1986 for some reason. Ripberger (talk) 21:33, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
The article says he is still alive and he was listed in the "living person" category. I only put the BLP template on biographies that do not indicate that the person is deceased or if its possible the person is still alive (he was born in 1921, so he may very well be alive and well). Until an editor indicates the person's death with reliable sources, I would rather be safe than sorry and put the BLP template there. Wikipedia has had a hard time with living people upset with their biographies and placing the BLP notice on their articles helps editors identify bios and keep close attention on them (that is, anyone that has the time and wish to monitor BLP articles, at any rate). I haven't contributed to Wikipedia in a long time. Contributing here is too depressing for me.
If you wish to correct the article to indicate he is not alive, be my guest (see WP:BOLD)). While Wikipedia does not have a Biographies of Dead People (WP:BDP), just remember to adhere to Reliable Sources (WP:RS) and the relevant WP policies and you should be fine. Take care. Oh no! Sorry. I looked at the wrong talk page tag living=no, I forgot to look at the article. Geschichte (talk) 23:40, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
No problem. :). Ripberger (talk) 01:39, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
did you vote?
hi there, your vote in ArbCom elections triggered a spoof CSRF alarm. Would you be so kind as to please confirm that you actually voted? :) Apologies for the inconvenience. Pundit|utter 07:34, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Replied on your talk page. Ripberger (talk) 22:38, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I propose the outing policy be changed for the following reason, and
is this action considered outing under the the existing policy.
I think your posting at harassment conflates the two issues.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 17:20, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
I should have created separate threads on the two issues. I can see how the two have become entangled. With that question, I was trying to see if anyone, including those who blocked User:Cla68, could see a problem with the "outing" policy as written. Perhaps I approached it wrong? Thanks. AN Notice
Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.Crazynast 07:50, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up. It appears I was too late to add anything. I'll have to remember to link to the AN/I archive discussing this so I can remember and explain why one of my edits has been suppressed. The last thing I want is someone thinking I committed some evil wiki-felonious act. This is only perpetuating a Streisand effect to this unfortunate situation. It's sometimes best to leave things be. This isn't doing anyone, including the "outed"/doxed editor, any favors. Sigh. Ripberger (talk) 02:32, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
