Thanks buster
Thanks buster, for giving me an information because im a new user and wrote only one article "Gadri. (Clan)". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Halath (talk • contribs) 12:33, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

So I noticed that you never created a template for users with 100,000 edits, so feel free to add this template to your page. I could have added it for you, but I didn't know what you would prefer. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 07:01, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Trump Statement
I just noticed the titles of your edits got me a little mixed up, I didn't mean to edit that much. What Trump said in person is slightly different than what his press release stated. either one seems fine to use, but the way it is worded currently it indicates it is quoting the press release. My point was more that if you want to add the stronger version from what he said in person, the sentence just needs to be slightly restructuredYourmanstan (talk) 15:10, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Yourmanstan: Thanks. No prob. Your edit was accurate in that it pointed to an inaccuracy. I have fixed it as you suggested in your edit summary which, I might point out, was commendable in that your suggestion prevented any mis-understading that may have led to an adversary-type communications between us. We remained just two editors doing our best to provide our readers with the facts. Buster Seven Talk 15:25, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Trump says "the world is going to respect us again" if he's elected president. Oh absolutely, Mr. Trump. Absolutely. Palin for Veep? Writegeist (talk) 07:34, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'm trying to understand Trump and what he stands for. Not that I would vote for him, you understand! Maybe I'm just trying to understand why his supporters love him so much. So...I went to the library and searched thru back issues of a weekly magazine called "Vital Speeches of the Day" to look if Trump had some words of wisdom, some insight into the man, some guidance and leadership and ideas I could contemplate. I looked back as far as March of 2012 and stopped. Not one word from The Donald. Maybe I'll look thru "People Magazine" tomorrow. Buster Seven Talk 08:46, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- In a nutshell (emphasis on "nut" as in "nutso"): Anger. “The fact that Trump himself is frequently lying doesn’t matter to those that see themselves as the establishment’s victims if he’s lying in service of exposing another government predator.” [1]
You did better than me
I see that we were both writing to the same editor at the same time. Reading what you wrote, I think you did a better job than I did of being encouraging and friendly. I intended to be friendly, but re-reading what I wrote I don't think it comes over quite as I intended, but you did much better. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 16:19, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks James, but "no problem". My graciousness comes from NOT having to deal with vandals 24/7 and working at Editor Retention. I don't want to hold his hand as he crosses the street. And, I think your reply on you talk is right on the money. I'm not so gullible as to believe the "IDIDN'TKNOW" reply. I just think, for this editor, the time and effort might be worth it. I've had a few successes in retaining and teaching. Maybe this is another. Buster Seven Talk 16:31, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
- You may be right: I hope so. However, with an editor who for so long has shown no interest in anything but self-promotion, I won't be holding my breath as I wait for the flood of constructive edits on other topics. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 22:12, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Mr Robot edit 'like'
Thanks for the 'like' of my edit. That function didn't exist when I used to edit regularly, several years ago- it's great! I was a little nervous of editing the article, as I know there have been a few wars over it on the talk page:) SatansFeminist (talk) 17:44, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks/Ripken
Thanks for the 100,000 edit award. Since I see you are a baseball (Cubs) fan, it makes me think the award may be something like a Cal Ripken, Jr. type award. Donner60 (talk) 02:04, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder of a truly Great Moment in Baseball history, when Ripken broke the longevity record and circled the field getting adoration from the great Baltimore fans.
"Bobby Bonilla and Rafael Palmeiro pushed me out of the dugout and said, 'Hey, if you don't do a lap around this thing, we'll never get the game started.' I thought it was a ridiculous sort of thing ... but as I started to do it, the celebration of 50,000 started to be very one-on-one and very personal. I started seeing people I knew ... Those were the people that had been around the ballpark all those years, and it was really a wonderful human experience." For the fans watching as well.

Your revert at Donald Trump Campaign 2016
"Change the wording but don't just remove a factual event". Huh? (No change of wording would matter. Removing a person by force from a rally is not an example of "violence" no matter how you copyedit it, unless the removal itself was conduced violently, and there was no indication of that present. I removed the two items because they weren't examples of "violence" and the section title indicates that its text describes incidents of violence.) So what again is your rationale for reverting? IHTS (talk) 21:48, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
- I see your point. Its a bit of a stretch but I see it. I'll change the section title then and bring them back....soon. Buster Seven Talk 01:27, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
- I see that someone else already did just that. My rationale was obvious. It was to inform the reader of the removal of "so-called" protesters before they even become protesters. They were just college students on campus. The expulsion violated their rights to peaceful participation at event on their own college campus. In my estimation, they had more right to be there than others. I think their skin color may have been a factor but that IS just speculation on my part. Buster Seven Talk 01:44, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
Open letter
Do you have any objection to its inclusion or wording? Happy to hear your thoughts. Neutralitytalk 02:44, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
- Not at all. It is a remarkable communication by substantial Republicans. I've read speculation that it, as other seemingly damaging things, may have little effect on his popularity. But maybe it will begin a groundswell that can not be ignored by his supporters. These type of articles prove very difficult in maintaining a NPOV. It becomes obvious where editors cast their allegiance. I do my best to remain neutral and impartial but I cannot deny my fear for the future. Regarding that, you chose your name well. May you always be true to your "handle". Buster Seven Talk 03:09, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks. I concur - the events of the past few months have proven to be shocking. I confess that I had not predicted them. I agree that on these types of articles, it is difficult to maintain a NPOV; we all come at it with various points of view. I think many editors (you being one of them) do an exemplary job. It is a constant battle on these articles on multiple fronts - keeping things up to date, determining what is noteworthy, and above all driving back the constant deluge of low-quality sources - and doing all of this in a fast-paced, hyper-partisan news environment. Neutralitytalk 03:19, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
- The consensus among friends and relatives (including a fair representation of Republicans) is that we have entered Rod Serling's Twilight Zone. Buster Seven Talk 21:15, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

American kestrel
I don't understand the removal of many of the images from this article. I admit one (central Illinios) was mine, but they could have easily been placed in the existing gallery. None were offensive or poorly photographed. Please explain to ease my "ruffled feathers". Buster Seven Talk 13:48, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Buster, certainly not my intention to ruffle your feathers. I tidied up a scruffy article, creating a gallery and just removed the one image - yours! I didn't feel that it added to the article, as it didn't show anything different and wasn't sharp. You had also put it in the feeding section. 'Poorly photographed' is a judgment call of course, and I have put it back in the gallery... Charlesjsharp (talk) 14:24, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- It was the best I had...taken with a cell phone camera. To explain, the image captured a very special moment in my (and my families) birding experience. The young kestrel stayed in our area for about three days and myself and wife and daughter were able feed it by holding up morsels of skirt steak which the kestrel would swoop down and grab. The image in question shows a little bit of the steak in the lower left hand corner which is why I placed it in the feeding section. Thanks for listening and for returning it to the gallery...much appreciated! Buster Seven Talk 14:37, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Regarding this reference change [2] - I'm not sure why you thought this webpage was "page not found" it's coming up just fine for me.
Give the URL a direct try to see? Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz (talk) 17:12, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
- Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz Click on this diff and go into the article, click on the ref and you will see "page not found". Didn't see it then but I see now that you left out the first (}) after the ref designator.
- The direct try works here but not the one in the diff above. Buster Seven Talk 20:52, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
- Ah. Typo on my part in the reference formatting then. Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz (talk) 21:22, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. It would seem so. I'm glad we straightened that out. Wouldn't want you to think that I preferred my reference over yours. I am not a "serial reference changer". Buster Seven Talk 14:31, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Editor of the Week : nominations needed!
The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.
The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?
Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

Recent nomination
The curious thing is that although the previous nomination for the editor in question did not receive any support, the recognition was still given. In any case, it's water under the bridge now... isaacl (talk) 21:11, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
Regarding users being notified, I assume that the criteria for generating a ping is checked when the edit is made and then the notification stored at that time, so deleting the text later doesn't affect the notification. It's not a big deal, just a little unfortunate. isaacl (talk) 22:12, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
- I know. I just wanted to get rid of the clutter and not let it sit around and be mistaken for a "How to....". One of the first things I do is add User10 to give potential seconds an easy access to vett. User Carp made a mistake... but it will be months before the award is given... do you think we should give it this week since the "beans are spilled"? Buster Seven Talk 22:29, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
- I see: that's a good idea to hopefully keep others from emulating the edit. I think it's probably more fair to the other nominators to leave the order as is. isaacl (talk) 22:49, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Administrator of the Month?
Maybe we could have an "Administrator of the Month" award? (This thought was prompted by the discussion on Avi's nom.) I'd suggest monthly rather than weekly, as there so many fewer admins than editors. Admnins have to take a lot of stick, so it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to have an award for them. Just a thought. --NSH002 (talk) 05:49, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- The key issue, as illustrated in this discussion about a somewhat similar proposal is that it would be a lightning rod for criticism of administrators and the role of administrators. I think the best approach is to craft a personal statement of thanks from everyone interested in contributing, with as many specific examples as possible. People enjoy knowing they've been able to do tasks that had positive effects, and a personal recognition isn't as prone to draw negative attention. isaacl (talk) 14:00, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- The idea has come up more than once. As Isaac points out, it may open a can of worms that is less than enjoyable for the recipient. What could happen is that when an admin is nominated and placed in a HOLD status and a discussion is had at the comment section, once everyone has had their say (mostly positive I would imagine) we can ping the Admin and he/she can see and read all the wonderful things said about them. Buster Seven Talk 14:56, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- Personally I think it is nicer to get a written thank-you note, rather than calling someone over to look at a meeting transcript. But of course getting thanks in some form is always good, and I appreciate that inviting someone to look at a discussion may help recognize the editor-in-question in a more timely manner. isaacl (talk) 15:07, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- It just seems like the easiest, least involved method. Neither of us want the additional responsibility (and time spent) of writing and delivering the personal note. Ping gets it done in one step. Buster Seven Talk 15:15, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I had assumed that the thankful person / group would want to take that task on; my suggestion was directed towards them. The personal touch, without an intervening middle person, works quite well for thank yous. isaacl (talk) 12:06, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- OK. so...my understanding is that we let the conversation re:admins receiving award run its course in the HOLD section and if one or more want to personalize a message, it's on them. Buster Seven Talk 19:26, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
