User Spartan - 117 (9th December 1999 - present) is the pseudonym of the author, a teenage boy living currently in Kolkata,India. My limited knowledge restricts my activities on Wikipedia to that of a pedant, that is, fixing typos and adding links, and controlling vandalism. Languages that I know are English(the language I am most comfortable with), Bengali(my mother tongue - I speak it fluently but am atrocious when writing it), and a tiny amount of Hindi. I am what is believed by those who know me to be the textbook definition of a bookworm. I love reading books, and read practically everything I can. My favourites are the Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, the works of Agatha Christie, Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, and Isaac Asimov. My other interests include gaming, amateur astronomy, astrophotography, and origami. My username is inspired by the chief protagonist of the Halo series. I am very much interested in space exploration(space travel, space missions, anything related to space). I am also an Orbinaut, and take a general interest in simulators (flight simulators, train simulators, etc). I also take an interest in computer programming, and have some knowledge of C++, Java and Ruby, and am a great fan of Arduino. My choices in music differ slightly from the usual: my favourites in this field are, among others, Mozart, J.S. Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven and Holst. I am very interested in the history of the Second World War, particularly the aerial side of it. I am (I know, this is beginning to sound monotonous) very strongly concerned about animal rights.
Note made by self on 10.4.2016- I never realised how terrible this page is until today. It is both pompous and repetitive. The continuous repetition of "I am" is enough to drive people crazy. I shall try to refine my style...
Additional note added on the same day: For anyone checking my contributions(and/or reading my talk page) and wondering how such a gentle user managed to blank the page on ISRO, that was purely an accident. I had indeed attempted to fix a grammatical error there(poor grammar/spelling incapacitates me) using Visual Edit mode, and somehow, after I finished, only the section I edited was left standing.Self-trout
I have given up using Visual Edit from that day, and have also added the WP:OOPS banner to my user page.
