Towards a New Wikimania results
Last December, I invited you to share your views on the value of Wikimedia conferences and the planning process of Wikimania. We have completed analysis of these results and have prepared this report summarizing your feedback and important changes for Wikimania starting in 2018 as an experiment. Feedback and comments are welcome at the discussion page. Thank you so much for your participation. I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, 22:47, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
ACC Notice
Hi Pgallert, this notification is to let you know that I've removed the accountcreator user right from your account as you have not logged any account creation actions in over 45 days. This is procedural and not a result of misuse of the tool. If you would like to become involved in the process again please contact a tool administrator, and request the user right be re-added at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Account creator. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Thank you! Swarm ♠ 20:36, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- Cool User:Swarm, you guys forgot again the users that do not use the ACC tool but have 'accountcreator' for their occasional outreach activities. Considering that I'll lose it every time after not using it for 45 days I shall not request it back. I'll simply restrict my next class to six members. I'm sure this will improve the encyclopaedia. Pgallert (talk) 21:32, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- Community consensus restricts this permission to active account creators, that includes those in outreach and educational activities. This is a procedural action in line with community consensus and should not affect your editing or the encyclopedia in any way. You should have no problem obtaining this permission if it is needed again, but I will note that the activity requirement is not and never has been strictly enforced and it has indeed been substantially longer than 45 days since you've had to employ this permission. - @Swarm: I'm sure you have consensus among the toolserver user community for this particular round of removals. I doubt you do among the people doing outreach. The policy says may be removed, not must, shall, or will. The last time it happened there was at least a prior notice for me so that I could chime into the discussion. Should I ever need the flag again, it will cost 10 minutes of my time, 15 minutes for an admin to check my standing, and then 5 minutes of your time to remove it again. Not a good use of volunteers' time if you ask me. Cheers, --Pgallert (talk) 05:43, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
- On the contrary, the consensus was determined by an RfC that was open to the community for over two months. And I can't see any way it would take more than 60 seconds to submit a procedural request to have the right re-enabled, nor should it take longer than that to look at your logs and reenable the permission. Procedural revocations are always overturned almost automatically, provided inactivity is no longer the case. For the record, I understand your defensiveness and frankly I agree that users should be allowed to carry the flag indefinitely like any other permission, but AFAIK that has never been the case with this particular permission. I carried AC for a long time despite not being active, I was proud to be part of a specialized and restrictive user group and I would certainly be annoyed if I'd had it revoked, but I will certainly say that having the flag didn't effect my editing at all. As for this being a bad use of time, well, enforcing the rules as determined by the community is simply part of the job. This task falls to the handful of administrators involved in Permissions and we ourselves shirk this duty enough as it is. Swarm ♠ 21:58, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Leevi Gerson Max, a Namibian trade union leader.
Hi,
You might be interested in the article on Leevi Gerson Max. It has been proposed for deletion. Maybe you could do something about it? Or someone else, who is interested in Namibian things in Wikipedia? Panu Hallamaa (talk) 14:12, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @Panu Hallamaa: Would love to help out here, but the name gives absolutely zero GHits, anywhere. Without sources I cannot improve it, and the original Finnish magazine I do not have, and could not read even if I could access it. Strictly speaking, it could still be a hoax because missionary history in Namibia is typically at least somewhat accessible online. --Pgallert (talk) 17:33, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Pardon me for jumping in, but I believe he was a real person. The University of Namibia has, in its digital collections, mentions of something by Levi Gerson Max. My internet is not working well at the moment, but I am fairly certain this is an article on a real person.--TM 17:49, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

DYK nomination?: Jessie Rose
Hi, Pgallert. I started a new article on Jessie Rose. Do you have time to nominate it for DYK? The hook might be something like this:
- ...that Jessie Rose started her career playing a variety of soprano roles but later became the principal mezzo-soprano of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company?
The article also has a photo if you think it is worth adding to the hook. -- Ssilvers (talk) 09:06, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- Sure, will do. --Pgallert (talk) 18:13, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- Done, see Template:Did you know nominations/Jessie Rose. Sorry for the delay; I'm struggling with Internet access. --Pgallert (talk) 15:25, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Esino Lario
Hallo Peter. Marcus.
Gruss! Pgallert (talk) 06:20, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
