Career
Beginning in 2009, Tigo stepped on the scene with Ooh Wee, a collaboration with artist Ricco Barrino.[1] In 2010, while recording in a studio in Atlanta, Georgia, he ran into artist Waka Flocka Flame. He then featured Waka on We Got It from his mixtape Times Up. In 2014, Complex listed Tigo B's song 69 featuring Barrino as one of the songs "bout to blow", predicting that listeners would be hearing it everywhere.[2] HipHopDX also named Tigo's Rise: A Gemini Story one of 'the most important mixtapes of 2014'.[3] Tigo B's 2017 track Where You Come From featuring rapper DJ Luke Nasty reached the #1 spot on Shazam in the Mid-Atlantic and the Carolinas.[4] Over twenty radio stations put the track on regular rotation, making it one of the 50 most added songs in the United States. This song marked the start of Tigo's partnership with Avex Music Publishing. In 2018, Tigo signed with Grammy-nominated record producer Harmony "H-Money" Samuels to B.O.E. Records and released his first single, Too Dumb on February 28, 2019. He was also featured on Luke Nasty's 2020 project Highway Music 2 with track Gone. Tigo has continued to work with Harmony "H-Money" Samuels on tracks such as Viral and Regret, expected to release with Universal Music Canada. On April 11, 2022, he released a new single titled Winner.
Due to being unable to tour in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tigo, along with business partner Lamont Heath, began running a food truck business named Romeo's Vegan Burgers in November of 2020. The food truck amassed many customers in the beginning of 2021, so much so that they had to relocate because of the size of the crowds.[5] The truck found a permanent station in Central Ave. in Charlotte, North Carolina, sparking ideas for opening an official restaurant.[6][7] In 2022, Tigo and Lamont decided to open the first Romeo's Vegan Burgers eatery on South Blvd. in Charlotte.[8]
