File:Heart_icon.svg
Hello Hazmat2, thank you so much for creating File:Heart_icon.svg for WikiLove. After comparing it with the current icon, I was wondering if you could make one small change: Could you make the inner white outline slightly thinner and closer to the edges of the heart? Great job solving the weave patterns! Jon C (talk) 05:53, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! Though that tartan pattern was... interesting. Up close you realize the entire image was one pattern rather than four which meant it took longer than expected to do. Nonetheless, fun as always. The Haz talk 12:20, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
New workshop
Hey there. Please take a look at this proposal to start a new workshop in the graphic lab. Please add your views on this. Roshan220195 (talk) 15:18, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Question
Hey Hazmat, I was wondering if you know if there is any way to make an svg sharper/clearer? Setanta Saki (talk) 09:04, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Well, technically, an SVG is already as sharp as you need it, and already sharper and clearer than anything else. However, WP's engine converts this to PNG before the user's browser even sees it and doesn't do the greatest job with it either. I upload perfectly coded SVGs only to have them completely screwed up by WP.
- However,with that said, I believe the WP rendering engine does follow the shape-rendering properties, so if you add:
style="shape-rendering:crispEdges"
orstyle="shape-rendering:auto"
- to each path or shape tag in your SVG file that you need sharper, you should get some better results. I haven't tried this myself because I haven't needed it yet. Let me know how it works out for you! The Haz talk 14:58, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

- Cheers for that that info Haz appreciate it, Im only a svg novice really not very au fait with altering paths but i'll try look up how exactly to do it to give it a go :) Setanta Saki (talk) 19:51, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, good advice to download notepad++, adding code to every path is a bit daunting but might still give a shot if i manage to work up the willpower. Will let you know how it goes if i do. Setanta Saki (talk) 11:07, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- I wouldn't do it by hand. Definitely let the software do it for you, especially since using the find/replace feature should make quick work of it here. The Haz talk 14:18, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

- Doh! ya that would probably be a good idea :), so if i was trying it with this file File:Arms of Ireland (Alternate).svg which i cant seem to get it to be as punchy as i would like for some reason. I would open it in notepad put in xml reading mode and replace what lines exactly with :
style="shape-rendering:crispEdges"
orstyle="shape-rendering:auto"
?. Also could do with an unbiased opinion of new version versus the old File:Coat of arms of Ireland.svg.- First, that SVG looks fantastic. I'm guessing you are referring to the smaller PNGs that get rendered. To answer your question, I would Replace
<Path
with<Path style="shape-rendering:crispEdges"
or something similar to that. It's simple and will keep the remainder of the tag the same. You can also use RegEx in Notepad++ if you need to do something more complex. Also, remember to do the same for shapes (if you need to). The Haz talk 20:38, 1 February 2014 (UTC)-
- Thanks for that Haz nice to get a positive second opinion and cheers for the step by step guide on the code front, must try learn a bit more about it. Setanta Saki (talk) 12:10, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Archives
Haz do you know any editors, (or yourself) who can Archive some stuff on the Graphics Lab. - We've got things dating back to December - Thanks FOX 52 (talk) 05:23, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- Usually someone runs an archive bot on it. I would just check the history to see which bot and ask the owner. I assumed they ran automatically but I'm not sure. I've never archived anything there. The Haz talk 13:07, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
