Stop behaving like a vandal
Ynhockey,
You should take a wikibreak. you deleted here all my edits and some are not at all criticable.
You cannot either remove request of source, and the ones in this article are particularly poor, not to say totally pov-ed like Moshe Givati...
I don't know who wrote this stuff but this is a nice propaganda at the glory of Israel.

Ram Karmi, published works
Greetings, YN! My recent edit to Ram Karmi#Published works, which you subsequently tweaked, was primarily to indicate that the original work is in the Hebrew language. I haven't tackled the Manual of Style to learn proper Wikipedia format for foreign language titles cited in the English Wikipedia, have you? Incidentally, please note that in romanizing for the lay reader it's quite common to use ch for the Hebrew letter כ and kh for the Hebrew letter ח, hence adrichalut for אדריכלות. So it would seem your changing that is superfluous. Or do you have some support for your preference? -- Thanks, Deborahjay (talk) 18:40, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

That 1948 document
Hi, the question has arisen of the correct name of the document that Ben-Gurion read out on May 14, 1948. Although it is very commonly referred to in English as the "Israeli Declaration of Independence", the most authoritative English sources I can find, such as the authorized translations of the 1948 Law and Administration Ordnance, several Basic Laws, and many High Court rulings, say "Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel". Does the issue of "independence" versus "establishment" also occur in Hebrew? Answer here if you like. Thanks. Zerotalk 08:46, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

- Thank you for your reply. The problem is that every statement you gave as an example happens to be true, despite the wording; it covers that many bases. new 1:50,000 map at amudanan
Hi, amudanan has an extra 1:50,000 map; select the second 1:50,000 in the maps menu. It is very nicely designed and easy to read. Can you see what map it is, and what year? Commons maps
I've noticed the maps you made at commons such as [1]and [2] are being used on en.wiki. These maps contain many oddities which make them inappropriate for en.wiki and I was hoping you could fix them instead of me having to manually remove the few dozens links to them. The three major problems are 1)East Jerusalem is placed on the wrong side of the Israeli boundary with Palestine 2)The Golan Heights are placed on the wrong side of the border with Syria 3) The West Bank is coloured differently than the rest of Palestine. Thanks, Sepsis II (talk) 04:23, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Sepsis observations here. You state that "The maps' purpose is to illustrate Israeli localities' locations", but actually they are also being used to indicate the locations of places outside of Israel such as Ma'ale Adumim. That being the case it is not appropriate to use an erroneous international border for Israel with regards to East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. Dlv999 (talk) 10:39, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
- It's not an international boundary on the map that's highlighted, it doesn't say that anywhere. Nor does Israel have an international boundary with the Palestinian Authority except for areas A, B and C (Oslo accords), but that's also an interim boundary. This is exactly the point—the map highlights the boundaries that are important for what it illustrates. The maps are therefore completely neutral and do not portray one political opinion on another, like the political opinions of the editors actually editing the articles. —Ynhockey (Talk) 22:46, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
- In citation 6 above could you explain the meaning of the red line? In citation 7 above could you explain why East Jerusalem is coloured in white (the same coluour as Israel, different from that of the West Bank). You say the maps are nuetral but they give impression that the occupied Golan Heights and East Jerusalem are part of Israel in contradiction to most RS. In wikipedia terms that is not nuetral. In any case I think this should be opened up as a centralised discussion somewhere so we can get a wider range of views on the issue. Dlv999 (talk) 07:44, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
- They're administrative maps and show areas under Israeli administration, divided by district. Actually the other lines which are non-administrative (like the Green Line) were added at the request of another user, who confirmed that the end result was satisfactory. In fact I went into extra effort to show that not everyone recognizes the administrative boundaries by using different colors for different areas, but that's essentially irrelevant for the map which is only meant to show Israeli localities, whether they are in the under Israeli law or under the military administration. —Ynhockey (Talk) 11:46, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think showing Israeli territory and non-Israeli territory would be more pertininant than trying to include Israeli territory and Israeli occupied territory as one category - land "under Israeli administration". It is certainly not one category and should not be represented as such. Also why is the international border between Lebanon/Syria/Jorden the same colour (red) as the boundary that surrounds the Israeli occupied (Syrian) Golan Heights? This gives the impression that it is an international boundary. By the way, places outside of Israel are not "Israeli localities" - it is non-Israeli territory under Israeli occupation. Dlv999 (talk) 12:34, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Anti-IDF politicisation of Canada Park
Hi, you edited Canada Park many years ago, and sadly a similar POV issue reared its ugly head again today (zero0000 ...I bet you never heard of that guy, and surely you've never known him to ever be involved in political POV disputes? ;-) ).
Luckily, Pluto has resolved most of the POV issues which are specific to the Modern Era (1948 & 1967) -- although you may want to add
,
and please do check Canada Park in a week or month to be sure zero0000/etc didn't taint Pluto's edit with a new round of one-sided argument/POV, but also, I wonder if you'd like to review the rationale for adding a brief Ancient History sub-section as follows...since Canada Park is mainly an Archaeology Park to preserve the (ancient and medieval/other) ruins more than an attempt to really preserve the Palestinian ruins. Thus it only seems natural that an article about an Archaeology Park should bear at least a brief mention the periods of the historic era during which the ruins of forts, therein, were built: it's also relevant to 1947-8 & 1967 because the fort & castle were placed there to defend strategic high ground for the same reasons that Ayalon-Canada Park became a target in 1948/67. Here are some sub-sections that I was starting when zero0000 deleted it; maybe it shows more of a "consensus" if you expand on this concept instead of me [and I'll write the same to user/Shrike who commented on the talk page], also I can't edit today due to the 1-revert rule, and it helps to have "eyes on" the article to be sure they don't again taint what Pluto added:
---Ancient and medieval---
The site is identified by archaeologists as being built atop biblical Aijalon, which has been held by armies due to its strategic high ground in both ancient and modern times. Some of the antiquities/ruins at the Park and nearby tourist attractions are detailed in the "Further information" links at the top of this section, as well as more details about the region's history. ---Post WW2---

The Wikipedia Library: New Account Coordinators Needed
Hi Books & Bytes recipients: The Wikipedia Library has been expanding rapidly and we need some help! We currently have 10 signups for free account access open and several more in the works... In order to help with those signups, distribute access codes, and manage accounts we'll need 2-3 more Account Coordinators.
It takes about an hour to get up and running and then only takes a couple hours per week, flexible depending upon your schedule and routine. If you're interested in helping out, please drop a note in the next week at my talk page or shoot me an email at: jorlowitzgmail.com. Lili Bosse
Hello. I talked to User talk:Number 57 and they suggested contacting you. I recently created Lili Bosse, about the current Mayor of Beverly Hills, California, the daughter of Holocaust survivors who met in Israel, and a prominent American Jewish philanthropist. I was wondering if you would be interested in translating it into Hebrew for the Israeli Wikipedia. I intend to learn Hebrew, but I don't speak/write/read it yet, so your help would be greatly appreciated. I also created the Nessah Synagogue and Beth Jacob Congregation (Beverly Hills, California), which you may want to translate. It would be great if you could keep all the inlined references too. Would you be interested? Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:36, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Yaakov Naftali Frankel, Gilad Michoel Shaar and Eyal Yifrach
Hello again. Is there really no article on Wikipedia about the murder of Israeli teenagers Yaakov Naftali Frankel, Gilad Michoel Shaar and Eyal Yifrach? I can't find anything. I've just added a few sentences about the service in their honor at Beth Jacob Congregation (Beverly Hills, California). If there is really no article, would you please consider starting one? I don't mind expanding it, but I'm not sure how to start it without sounding like a newspaper article.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:53, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Basma and Ma'ale Iron
Frankly, I need some help, what (=which villages, places) actually went into Basma and Ma'ale Iron? Can we get a solid source on that? Not Dov Guttman; I have found so many mistakes in his web-site.
It is sort of difficult to write the history of the places without knowing their former names.
Also, what about was al-Murtafi'a, Aqqada and Kh. Um al Abhar: were they joined into Ma'ale Iron? They are not on the list of depopulated 1948-villages, and were in the middle of the group of villages Guttman say went into Ma'ale Iron. (And all 3 are noted on the 1880s SWP map).
Hope you can help! Cheers, Huldra (talk) 20:38, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, I think User:Number 57 just solved it for me here, Thanks anyway, Cheers, Huldra (talk)

List of villages depopulated during the Arab–Israeli conflict
I see that you used to be involved in this page, if you have the patience, could you swing by? I am suggesting in the pre-1948 list, we adopt an approach that rather than simply list the villages/neighborhoods with the assertion that they were depopulated and sourced to a single, independent webpage, each village be sourced. To establish that it did exist. Was depopulated. Whether it was depopulated because the land was sold or fro some other reason. And , if it is asserted that it was replaced by a specific kibbutz or Israeli town, that this be established. i am not asserting that such events did not take place. Only that events ought not to be listed as facts unless they can be reliably sourced.ShulMaven (talk) 22:47, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi
As you have ru-N I'll ask in Russian. Please answer in Russian too if possible.
WikiCup 2015 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and may we wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2015 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. We have a few important announcements concerning the future of the WikiCup.
- We would like to announce that Josh (J Milburn) and Ed (The ed17), who have been WikiCup judges since 2009 and 2010 respectively, are stepping down. This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but the main one is time. Both Josh and Ed have found that, over the previous year, they have been unable to devote the time necessary to the WikiCup, and it is not likely that they will be able to do this in the near future. Furthermore, new people at the helm can only help to invigorate the WikiCup and keep it dynamic. Josh and Ed will still be around, and will likely be participating in the Cup this following year as competitors, which is where both started out.
- In a similar vein, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Jason (Sturmvogel 66) and Christine (Figureskatingfan), who are joining Brian (Miyagawa) to form the 2015 WikiCup judging team. Jason is a WikiCup veteran, having won in 2010 and finishing in fifth this year. Christine has participated in two WikiCups, reaching the semi-finals in both, and is responsible for the GA Cup, which she now co-runs.
- The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. While it may be impossible to please everyone, the judges will make every effort to ensure that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiCup 2015 launch newsletter
Round one of the 2015 WikiCup has begun! So far we've had around 80 signups, which close on February 5. If you have not already signed up and want to do so, then you can add your name here. There have been changes to to several of the points scores for various categories, and the addition of Peer Reviews for the first time. These will work in the same manner as Good Article Reviews, and all of the changes are summarised here.
Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round, and one of the new changes this year is that all scores must be claimed within two weeks of an article's promotion or appearance, so don't forget to add them to your submissions pages! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! NRG
Hi, what do you know about www.nrg.co.il? There is lots of news there but it isn't mentioned at List of Israeli newspapers. Their contact address is Menuim@makorrishon.co.il, but I don't see them mentioned at Makor Rishon either. Would you say it is reliable in wiki terms? Thanks. Zerotalk 06:07, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Update is needed for the Israeli Railway Map, because Netivot is now connected to the railway line to Sderot
Hello.
The Israeli Railway Map needs to be updated, because Netivot is now connected to the railway line to Sderot with the opening of the Netivot train station on Sunday 15 February 2015 (almost exactly one year after the opening of the Sderot train station on 14 February, 2014). The railway line between Sderot and Netivot needs to be colored in blue.
Thank you.
PS: Could you create an additional railway map of Israel, again showing Israel with its post-1967 borders but without Sinai, in order to enlarge the map of Israel, because the fonts used for the place names are too small even with the largest zooming of the image.
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.200.8.25 (talk) 16:08, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Community settlement/Jewish locality
Hi Yan, hope things are well. Having been brought into a debate about community settlements, I discovered that the CBS seems to have reclassified quite a few (just over 30) as "Jewish localities" (יישוב יהודי). Do you have any idea whether these are still actually community settlements by another name, or whether they have lost that status? Unfortunately my Hebrew's not good enough to do proper research into this, and barely anything is written about it in English...
Were you still interested in that greatcoat? Number 57 23:00, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
WikiCup 2015 March newsletter
That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. 64 competitors made it into this round, and are now broken into eight groups of eight. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups. Round 1 saw some interesting work on some very important articles, with the round leader Freikorp (submissions) owing most of his 622 points scored to a Featured Article on the 2001 film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within which qualified for a times-two multiplier. This is a higher score than in previous years, as Godot13 (submissions) had 500 points in 2014 at the end of round 1, and our very own judge, Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) led round 1 with 601 points in 2013.
In addition to Freikorp's work, some other important articles and pictures were improved during round one, here's a snapshot of a few of them:
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) took Bumblebee, a level-4 vital article, to Good Article;
- AHeneen (submissions) worked-up the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 article, also to Good Article status;
- Rodw (submissions) developed an extremely timely article to Good Article, taking Magna Carta there some 800 years after it was first sealed;
- And last but not least, Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) worked up a number of Featured Pictures during round 1, including the 1948 one Deutsche Mark (pictured right), receiving the maximum bonus due to the number of Wikis that the related article appears in.
You may also wish to know that The Core Contest is running through the month of March. Head there for further details - they even have actual prizes!
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Adding translation from Hebrew in reference in the article on water supply and sanitation in Israel
Dear Ynhockey,
Thank you for your edits to Water supply and sanitation in Israel. In one reference that you introduced, you included this bare link http://www.water.gov.il/Hebrew/Planning-and-Development/Desalination/DocLib/mitve-salt_water.jpg that shows a table and a diagram in Hebrew. Could you please include an English translation of the title of the table and a remark that the original table is in Hebrew in the reference? While I cannot tell you right now if there is a rule that requires this, in my experience this is standard practice when quoting articles in one language in a Wikipedia version of another language. I hope this can be done without too much trouble.--Mschiffler (talk) 20:09, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015 May newsletter
The second round one has all wrapped up, and round three has now begun! Congratulations to the 34 contestants who have made it through, but well done and thank you to all contestants who took part in our second round. Leading the way overall was Cas Liber (submissions) in Group B with a total of 777 points for a variety of contributions including Good Articles on Corona Borealis and Microscopium - both of which received the maximum bonus.
Special credit must be given to a number of high importance articles improved during the second round.
- Coemgenus (submissions) was one of several users who worked on improving Ulysses S. Grant. Remember, you do not need to work on an article on your own - as long as each person has completed significant work on the article during 2015, multiple competitors can claim the same article.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) took Dragonfly to Good Article for a 3x bonus - and if that wasn't enough, they also took Damselfly there as well for a 2x bonus.
- LeftAire (submissions) worked up Alexander Hamilton to Good Article for the maximum bonus. Hamilton was one of the founding fathers of the United States and is a level 4 vital article.
The points varied across groups, with the lowest score required to gain automatic qualification was 68 in Group A - meanwhile the second place score in Group H was 404, which would have been high enough to win all but one of the other Groups! As well as the top two of each group automatically going through to the third round, a minimum score of 55 was required for a wildcard competitor to go through. We had a three-way tie at 55 points and all three have qualified for the next round, in the spirit of fairness. The third round ends on June 28, with the top two in each group progressing automatically while the remaining 16 highest scorers across all four groups go through as wildcards. Good luck to all competitors for the third round! Figureskatingfan (talk · contribs · email), Miyagawa (talk · contribs · email) and Sturmvogel 66 (talk · contribs · email) 16:51, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

2011 Egyptian Constitutional Referendum process in English
Dear Ynhockey,
I am a student of International Relations from Plymouth University, United Kingdom, and I would like to enquire about the '2011 Egyptian Constitutional Referendum process in English' picture that accompanies Wikipedia's article on the referendum. I would very much like to use the picture as a reference on my dissertation, however I am unsure of the pictures source - did you create it? or did you find it somewhere?
If you could let me know if it is okay to use your image, or where you found the picture, I would appreciate it greatly.
My email address is: gmperry18@gmail.com

Thank you for taking part in the Community Health learning campaign!
Hi Ynhockey, I wanted to thank you for contributing to the learning campaign on Community Health. The campaign is now very active on Meta Wikimedia, and you can find it following this link.
It would be great if we could have more feedback from the editor community in Hebrew Wikipedia. Would it be possible to translate the questions to Hebrew and post them as a subpage on he.wp?
If you are interested in contributing in this sense, please get back to me on my talk page. Thanks! MCruz (WMF) (talk) 01:29, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015 September newsletter
The finals for the 2015 Wikicup has now begun! Congrats to the 8 contestants who have survived to the finals, and well done and thanks to everyone who took part in rounds 3 and 4.
In round 3, we had a three-way tie for qualification among the wildcard contestants, so we had 34 competitors. The leader was by far Casliber (submissions) in Group B, who earned 1496 points. Although 913 of these points were bonus points, he submitted 15 articles in the DYK category. Second place overall was Coemgenus (submissions) at 864 points, who although submitted just 2 FAs for 400 points, earned double that amount for those articles in bonus points. Everyone who moved forward to Round 4 earned at least 100 points.
The scores required to move onto the semifinals were impressive; the lowest scorer to move onto the finals was 407, making this year's Wikicup as competitive as it's always been. Our finalists, ordered by round 4 score, are:
- Cas Liber (submissions), who is competing in his sixth consecutive Wikicup final, again finished the round in first place, with an impressive 1666 points in Pool B. Casliber writes about the natural sciences, including ornithology, botany and astronomy. A large bulk of his points this round were bonus points.
- Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points), second place both in Pool B and overall, earned the bulk of his points with FPs, mostly depicting currency.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions), first in Pool A, came in third. His specialty is natural science articles; in Round 4, he mostly submitted articles about insects and botany. Five out of the six of the GAs he submitted were level-4 vital articles.
- Harrias (submissions), second in Pool A, took fourth overall. He tends to focus on articles about cricket and military history, specifically the 1640s First English Civil War.
- West Virginian (submissions), from Pool A, was our highest-scoring wildcard. West Virginia tends to focus on articles about the history of (what for it!) the U.S. state of West Virginia.
- Rodw (submissions), from Pool A, likes to work on articles about British geography and places. Most of his points this round were earned from two impressive accomplishments: a GT about Scheduled monuments in Somerset and a FT about English Heritage properties in Somerset.
- Rationalobserver (submissions), from Pool B, came in seventh overall. RO earned the majority of her points from GARs and PRs, many of which were earned in the final hours of the round.
- Calvin999 (submissions), also from Pool B, who was competing with RO for the final two spots in the final hours, takes the race for most GARs and PRs—48.
The intense competition between RO and Calvin999 will continue into the finals. They're both eligible for the Newcomers Trophy, given for the first time in the Wikicup; whoever makes the most points will win it.
Good luck to the finalists; the judges are sure that the competition will be fierce!

Population figures
I've finally worked out a way to update the population figures annually without updating all 1,205 articles (the number of places the CBS do it for). I have created {{Israel populations}}, which contains all the populations (open an edit window, and you'll see - this is where we can update it annually). On each article, we then just need to add {{Israel populations|Placename}} (use the CBS name as listed in the template), and it will look up the single template. The year function can be done with {{Israel populations|Year}}, which looks up the same template. It can also be used in the text in the introduction. See my edits to Sde Boker.
Once it's rolled out, individual articles will no longer need updating! Cheers, Number 57 15:50, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've made a start (going alphabetically as far as Ahuzam) and will probably stop now for the evening. I've also added the reference template ( {{Israel populations|reference}}) to be used, so you can see that at Sde Boker too now. Number 57 17:30, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- I saw some changes in my Watchlist and was curious so I looked around after this template and found this discussion too. There seems to be newer data at http://www.cbs.gov.il/ishuvim/ishuv2014/bycode.xls. http://www.cbs.gov.il/hodaot2015n/yeshuvim2014.xls seems to be a shorter list. --IRISZOOM (talk) 18:13, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
-
-
- No problem. Perhaps you should take those you have already have updated in the end since they are pretty new too.
-
-
-
- I actually tried to look up population figures some days ago but needed to look around more. I was going to update the figures of Kafr Bara in Arab localities in Israel as I had updated the rest listed under the Central District section (which were easier to find as they had more than 5,000 residents). I am reading the table correct that it (Kafar Bara) had a population of 3,274 in 2014? --IRISZOOM (talk) 18:26, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- @IRISZOOM: Yes.
- @Number 57: If you update the data to 2014, please move the old information to a 2013 template or something, so it can also be used where appropriate. I think it would be useful to create something like this for all years eventually. If I have time I might write a script that gets the data from bycode.xls automatically and converts it to this template (although from what I can tell, you already did that). —Ynhockey (Talk) 18:32, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
-
-
@IRISZOOM: I'm not really sure what you mean above by "Perhaps you should take those you have already have updated"? But anyway, I have updated the {{Israel populations}} with the 2014 populations. This will also make the articles it's already used on display as 2014. I have put the 2013 figures into {{Israel populations 2013}}. I didn't use a script - I just used the Excel files from the CBS, deleted all the columns except the English name and the population, added columns with | and = (so I had "| CITY NAME = XXXXX" in four columns), converted the name from all caps to Capitalised Case using this website, then copied the lot into notepad and changed the tabs (i.e. the separate columns in Excel) into spaces. Number 57 21:00, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- There is one "have" more than it should be after some rewording. I mean if you start from Ahuzam or the one after with the 2014 figures and then go back edit those with the 2013 figures. Just a suggestion to perhaps make it less repetitive for the moment. --IRISZOOM (talk) 22:00, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- @IRISZOOM: I still don't really understand what you mean. Now I have updated the template, all the articles from Ahuzam backwards now automatically have the 2014 population (you don't need to edit the articles at all after the template has been put in once). As you can see at Ahuzam, I edited it well before I put the 2014 populations into the template, but the article has the 2014 population in it now without me doing anything to it. WikiCup 2015: The results
WikiCup 2015 is now in the books! Congrats to our finalists and winners, and to everyone who took part in this year's competition.
This year's results were an exact replica of last year's competition. For the second year in a row, the 2015 WikiCup champion is Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points). All of his points were earned for an impressive 253 featured pictures and their associated bonus points (5060 and 1695, respectively). His entries constituted scans of currency from all over the world and scans of medallions awarded to participants of the U.S. Space program. Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came in second place; she earned by far the most bonus points (4082), for 4 featured articles, 15 good articles, and 147 DYKs, mostly about in her field of expertise, natural science. Cas Liber (submissions), a finalist every year since 2010, came in third, with 2379 points.
Our newcomer award, presented to the best-performing new competitor in the WikiCup, goes to Rationalobserver (submissions). Everyone should be very proud of the work they accomplished. We will announce our other award winners soon.
A full list of our award winners are:
- Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) wins the prize for first place and the FP prize for 330 featured pictures in the final round.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) wins the prize for second place and the DYK prize for 160 did you knows in the final round (310 in all rounds).
- Cas Liber (submissions) wins the prize for third place and the FA prize for 26 featured articles in all rounds.
- West Virginian (submissions) wins the prize for fourth place
- Calvin999 (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.
- Rationalobserver (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.

- ThaddeusB (submissions) wins the news prize for the most news articles in round 3.
We warmly invite all of you to sign up for next year's competition. Discussions and polls concerning potential rules changes are also open, and all are welcome to participate. The WikiCup judges will be back in touch over the coming months, and we hope to see you all in the 2016 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement! ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 12:54, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Mahane Yatir
Do you know where this is? It's listed in the CBS population stats, but there isn't a he.wiki article. I've found one source stating that it's on road 316, and was wondering whether it might be the same place as Lev Yatir. Cheers, Number 57 13:18, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2016 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and we would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2016 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. There are some changes we'd like to announce before the competition begins.
After two years of serving as WikiCup judge, User:Miyagawa has stepped down as judge. He deserves great thanks and recognition for his dedication and hard work, and for providing necessary transition for a new group of judges in last year's Cup. Joining Christine (User:Figureskatingfan) and Jason (User:Sturmvogel 66) is Andrew (User:Godot13), a very successful WikiCup competitor and expert in Featured Pictures; he won the two previous competitions. This is a strong judging team, and we anticipate lots of enjoyment and good work coming from our 2016 competitors.
We would also like to announce one change in how this year's WikiCup will be run. In the spirit of sportsmanship, Godot13 and Cwmhiraeth have chosen to limit their participation. See here for the announcement and a complete explanation of why. They and the judges feel that it will make for a more exciting, enjoyable, and productive competition.
The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. The judges are committed to not repeating the confusion that occurred last year and to ensuring that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
Sturmvogel 66 (talk), Figureskatingfan (talk), and Godot13 (talk).--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:46, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for taking part in the Community Health learning campaign!
Hi,
apologies for writing in English, if this is not your first language.
I want to thank you once more for engaging in conversation on the Community Health learning campaign. It took us a while, but we can finally announce the winner of the prize, as well as share the outcomes of this conversation.
- The winner of the Wikimania 2016 scholarship is Basak! Congratulate her on her Talk page!
- The analysis of the consultation can now be found on Commons. It was presented at Wikiconference USA 2015, together with a more extensive research project on Community Health.
You might also be interested in taking part in the 2015 Harassment consultation. This is the first of several planned consultations on this topic, intended to provide a place to discuss ideas, concerns, proposals and possible solutions regarding Wikimedia communities’ harassment-related challenges.
This conversation would not have been the same without you. If you have more ideas, or follow up comments on the findings of the campaign, don't hesitate to leave me a message my talk page.
Have a great day,
