Requested moves is a process for requesting the retitling (moving) of an article, template, or project page on Wikipedia. (For retitling files, categories and other items, see When not to use this page.) Please read our article titling policy and our guideline regarding primary topics before moving a page or requesting a page move.
Any autoconfirmed user can use the Move function to perform most moves (see Help:How to move a page). If you have no reason to expect a dispute concerning a move, be bold and move the page. However, it may not always be possible or desirable to do this:
- Technical reasons may prevent a move, such as when a page may already exist at the target title and require deletion, or if the page to be moved is protected from moves. In these circumstances, administrator help is required to move a page, see below: § Requesting technical moves.
- A title may be subject to dispute, and discussion may be necessary in order to reach consensus, see below: § Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves. It is not always necessary to use the requested move process in these circumstances: one option is to start an informal discussion at the article's talk page instead.
- Unregistered users and new (not yet autoconfirmed) users do not have the capability to move pages. They must request moves using this process.
Most move requests are processed by a group of regular contributors who are familiar with Wikipedia naming conventions, non-binding precedents, and page moving procedures. Requests are generally processed after seven days, although backlogs often develop. If there is a clear consensus after this time, or if the requested move is uncontroversial or technical, the request will be closed and acted upon. If not, the closer may choose to re-list the request to allow more time for consensus to develop, or close it as "no consensus". For the processes involved in closing requests, performing moves, and cleaning up after moves, see Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions. For a list of all processed moves, see Special:Log/move.
To contest a close, the Move review process is designed to evaluate a contested close of a move discussion to determine if the close was reasonable, or whether it was inconsistent with the spirit and intent of Wikipedia common practice, policies, or guidelines.

When not to use this page
Separate processes exist for moving certain types of pages, and for changes other than page moves:
- Making an uncontroversial move – if you can, do it yourself! If you can't, see § Requesting technical moves.
- Renaming a category – propose the move at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion.
- Renaming a stub template – propose the move at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion.
- Renaming an image or other file – see Wikipedia:Moving a page § Moving a file page.
- Moves from draft namespace or user space – (new/unconfirmed users only) add
{{subst:submit}}
to the top of the article. - Merging two articles – make a request at Wikipedia:Proposed mergers, or be bold and do it yourself.
- Requesting that page histories be merged – list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.
- Contesting a move request close – use the Wikipedia:Move review process.
Undiscussed moves
Anyone can be bold and move a page without discussing it first and gaining an explicit consensus on the talk page. If you consider such a move to be controversial, and the new title has not been in place for a long time, you may revert the move. If you cannot revert the move for technical reasons then you may request a technical move.
Move wars are disruptive, so if you make a bold move and it is reverted, do not make the move again. Instead, follow the procedures laid out in § Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves.
Requesting technical moves
The discussion process is used for potentially controversial moves. If any of the following apply to a desired move, treat it as potentially controversial:
- There is an existing article (not just a redirect) at the target title;
- There has been any past debate about the best title for the page;
- Someone could reasonably disagree with the move.
If a desired move is uncontroversial and technical in nature (e.g. spelling), please feel free to move the page yourself. If the page has recently been moved without discussion, you may revert the move and initiate a discussion on its talk page. In either case, if you are unable to complete the move, request it below.
- To list a technical request, go to the bottom of this section that you are reading right now; edit the subsection Uncontroversial technical requests; insert the following code at the top:
-
{{subst:RMassist|<!--old page name, without brackets-->|<!--requested name, without brackets-->|reason= <!--reason for move-->}}
- This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
- If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move it to the Contested technical requests section.
- If your technical request is contested by another editor, please remove it from the contested technical requests section and follow the instructions at Requesting potentially controversial moves.
- Alternatively, if the only obstacle to an uncontroversial move is another page in the way, you can ask for the deletion of the other page. This may apply, for example, if the other page is currently a redirect to the article to be moved, a redirect with no incoming links, or an unnecessary disambiguation page with a minor edit history. To request the other page be deleted, add the following code to the top of the page that is in the way:
-
{{db-move|<!--page to be moved here-->|<!--reason for move-->}}
- This will list the undesired page for deletion under criterion for speedy deletion G6. If the page is a redirect, place the code above the redirection. For a list of articles being considered for uncontroversial speedy deletion, see Category:Candidates for uncontroversial speedy deletion.
Uncontroversial technical requests
Contested technical requests
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves
Use this process if there is any reason to believe a move would be contested. For technical move requests (e.g. spelling and capitalization fixes), see Requesting technical moves.
Do not put more than one open move request on the same article talk page, as this is not supported by the bot that handles updates to this page. Multiple closed move requests may be on the same page, but each should have a unique section heading.
Requesting a single page move
(To propose moving more than one page—for example, moving a disambiguation page in order to move another page to that title—see "Requesting multiple page moves" below.)
To request a single page move, edit at the bottom of the talk page of the article you want moved, using this format:
{{subst:Requested move|NewName|reason=Place here your rationale for the proposed page name change, ideally referring to applicable naming convention policies and guidelines, and providing evidence in support where appropriate. If your reasoning includes search engine results, please present Google Books or Google News Archive results before providing other web results. Do not sign this.}}
Replace NewName
with the requested new name of the page (or with a question mark, if you want more than one possible new name to be considered). Leave the Subject/headline blank, as the template automatically creates the heading "Requested move 14 July 2015". Do not sign a request with ~~~~
as the template does this automatically. The template must be substituted.
Use the code |talk=yes
to add separate locations for survey and discussion.
Note: Unlike certain other request processes on Wikipedia, nominations need not be neutral. Strive to make your point as best you can; use evidence (such as Ngrams and pageview statistics) and make reference to applicable policies and guidelines, especially our article titling policy and the guideline on disambiguation and primary topic. After the nomination has been made, nominators may nevertheless add a separate bullet point to support their nomination, but should add "as nominator" (for example, * '''Rename, as nominator''': ...
). Most nominators, however, simply allow the nomination itself to indicate what their opinion is. Nominators may also participate in the discussion along with everyone else, and often should.
RMCD bot notifies any Wikiproject listed on the talk page of the article to be moved to invite project members to participate in the RM discussion. Requesters should feel free to notify any other Wikiproject or Noticeboard that might be interested in the move request.
Requesting multiple page moves
A single template may be used to request multiple related moves. On one of the talk pages of the affected articles, create a request and format it as below. A sample request for three page moves is shown here (for two page moves, omit the lines for current3 and new3). For four page moves, add lines for current4 and new4, and so on. There is no technical limit on the number of multiple move requests, but before requesting very large multi-moves, consider whether a naming convention should be changed first. Discuss that change on the talk page for the naming convention, e.g., Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (sportspeople).
{{subst:requested move
| new1 = New title for page 1 with the talk page hosting this discussion
| current2 = Current title of page 2
| new2 = New title for page 2
| current3 = Current title of page 3
| new3 = New title for page 3
| reason = Place here your rationale for the proposed page name change, ideally referring to applicable naming convention policies and guidelines, and providing evidence in support where appropriate. If your reasoning includes search engine results, please default to Google Books or Google News Archive before providing any web results. Do not sign this.}}
For example, to propose moving the articles Wikipedia
and Wiki
, put this template on Talk:Wikipedia
, and replace current2
with Wiki
. The discussion for all affected articles is held on the talk page of the article at page 1 (Talk:Wikipedia
). Do not sign a request with ~~~~
as the template does this automatically. Do not skip pairs of numbers.
RMCD bot automatically places a notice section on the talk page of the additional pages that are included in your request, advising that the move discussion is in progress, where it is, and that all discussion for all pages included in the request should take place at that one location.

Closing instructions
Any uninvolved editor in good standing may close a move request, and more closers of move requests are needed, but there are certain procedures that need to be followed. Please read our closing instructions for information on how to close a move request.
Relisting
Relisting a discussion moves the request out of the backlog up to the current day in order to encourage further input. The decision to relist a discussion is best left to uninvolved experienced editors upon considering, but declining, to close the discussion. Preferably, a reason for the relist will be given. When a relisted discussion reaches a resolution, it may be closed at any time according to the closing instructions.
To relist a move request discussion, simply type <small>'''Relisted'''. ~~~~</small>
before the initial requester's first timestamp (see this diff for an example). This can also be done by using {{subst:Relisting}}, which signs the relisting automatically. The RMCD bot uses the new timestamp to relist the entry on this page.
If discussion has become stale, or it seems that discussion would benefit from more input of editors versed in the subject area, consider more widely publicizing the discussion. One option is to notify relevant WikiProjects of the discussion using the template {{RM notification}}. Applicable WikiProjects can often be determined by means of the banners placed at the top of the talk page hosting the move request.
Current discussions
- This section lists all requests filed or identified as potentially controversial which are currently under discussion.
This list is also available in a page-link-first format.

- (Discuss) – Shopping (song) → Shopping (Ryan Bang song) – WP:SONGDAB: a new Korean-language Youtube by a lunchtime comedian should not be squatting on the (song) spot as if the English-language "Shopping" songs by Pet Shop Boys, Barenaked Ladies and Paul Weller do not already have mentions on relevant album articles. Instead Shopping (song) should redirect to Shopping (disambiguation) for mobile users looking for the older and more long-lasting English-language "Shopping" songs. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Michael Brandon → Michael Brandon (actor) – More viewed than a porn star, but I don't see either being more significant than the other, even when he portrayed a satirical version of Jerry Springer. Most of his roles are minor or supporting roles. WP:2DABS generally discourages two-topic disambiguation pages unless there is no primary topic of a base name. George Ho (talk) 21:49, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- (Discuss) – Chai Zongxun → Guo Zongxun – To put it simply, there is no evidence as far as I know he ever used the surname "Chai" during his life even though he was the biological son of Chai Rong (who ideally should be at Guo Rong from a historical standpoint, but Chai Rong is acceptable since this is the name modern people are more familiar with due to folklore, novels etc., and that he actually has used the name). When Zongxun was born, his father was already known as "Guo Rong". See here: [1] which identifies them as "Chai Rong" and "Guo Zongxun" respectively. Also see The Cambridge History of China Volume 5, Figure 3. "Genealogy of Later Han and Later Chou ruling houses", which lists them as "Kuo Jung" (wade-giles spelling of "Guo Rong") and "Kuo Tsung-hsün" ("Guo Zongxun"). Both "Guo Zongxun" and "Chai Zongxun" generated 7 results on Google Books so I don't think anyone can argue WP:COMMONNAME. The Five Dynasties period is extremely confusing with people changing their surnames back and forth for allegiance purposes, but I agree with the current practice largely adopted by User:Nlu which is to use a surname only if there is evidence that he himself, and not his father or his son, has used that surname. See the titles of Li Cunshen (father) and Fu Yanqing (son who BTW may be Guo Zongxun's maternal grandfather), even though many history books call Li Cunshen "Fu Cunshen" which is wrong. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen → Olsen twins – Olsen twins seems like a much more appropriate and WP:CONCISE title than the current one. Most sources refer to them this way as well. There would be no ambiguity regarding who is being referred to by the shorter title anyway, so this article should be moved. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Inome → Intelius – The Intelius Wikipedia page was renamed to Inome under the rational that this was the company's new name. However, the only independent source we have says that Inome was a new umbrella corporation under which Intelius operates. The company still operates as Intelius, Inc.[2] and its website is still Intelius.com. The company is not synonymous with its corporate umbrella and I think it is incorrect to name the article after the corporate umbrella, rather than the company itself. - (Discuss) – Scott Walker → Scott Walker (disambiguation) – Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the politician is the primary topic with respect to usage, because the politician is much more likely than all the other topics combined to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term. With respect to long-term significance, either no one is the primary topic or else the politician is the primary topic, and it makes no difference because the politician is the primary topic as to usage. The only other topic that comes close is Scott Walker (singer), as discussed at the disambiguation talk page. If you go to "what links here" and hide redirects, the singer has less than 450 items listed, whereas the politician has more than 600. Article traffic statistics are more telling: in the past 90 days the singer has 35476 hits, whereas the politician has 179,616. Google news hits: 155,000 for the singer, versus about 1.4 million for the politician. Google books garners about 831 for the politician, versus 961 for the singer, but Google Scholar gives 3050 hits for the politician versus 936 for the singer. "version+control" NASA SP. Scientific and Technical Information Office, National Aeronautics and Space Administration [available from National Technical Information Service, Springfield, Va.] p. 47.
For software projects, it is routine to use version control for both pre-release and post-release deliverable systems.
For other two terms I couldn't find anything else from the 1960s that was specifically about software - it was interesting to see false positives from electrical engineering documents and later NASA documents that talk of revision control of themselves. So I'd move the article to that title, because it's a bit more generic, clearly most popular and apparently the oldest, in accordance with WP:AT. -- Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:51, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

- (Discuss) – Flavours → Flavours (The Guess Who album) – As it stands redirecting non-American readers to an album is hilarious (if you have a sense of humo[u]r), but apart from that, it's also a magnet for mislinks from food articles where Canadian, British, Irish and Australian editors have been editing. Flavors (album) redirects to American R&B girl group Tiffany Affair, so the band name would be advisable but Flavours (album) is possible if we think hiding The Guess Who will help those looking for The Guess Who album. - (Discuss) – Lhasa → Chengguan District, Lhasa – I made two alternative proposal here.1. Since no one answered my question (yes, there are 2 people but you are talking about something else and did not answered my question why only Lhasa), i would see this your move as a example and request the move of all chinese prefecture-level cities with only one district to XX (prefecture-level city)and move the district article to the city, the list above (the first two not include) is not complete but it shows that there are a lot of chinese prefecture-level cities have the same situation as Lhasa, the reasons for such move are the same as you have said for Lhasa, like people just interest in the "small city" etc, this also goes for Xigazê and a lot of cities. Of course the cities are not same but we can discuss which is like Lhasa which not. 2. Otherwise,what if we undo your move(the first two proposal above), this could be more clear and set a common standard for Chinese prefecture-level cities. I am not a trouble-maker, i just want to see a common standard of wikipedia. Wish to discuss, and am willing to help for the chinese language materials. Jiangyu911 (talk) 22:30, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

- (Discuss) – Throw out the baby with the bathwater → Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater – I'm an American turning fifty-five soon and I've only ever heard "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater." or "Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater" (and I've already added my proposed version of this common proverb to the article [3] per the reference I provided[4] ) [and removed for now that I see that it might be considered self-published, since its not clear that its not, and replaced it with published source] or "you shouldn't...", etc. The UK reference I provided gives this proverb's history and its alternate expressions as a concept which the current title is lacking since its purpose is to ensure that one avoids the error. As a form of criticism, it's usually the past tense "they threw the baby out with the bath water". Even with present tense it is "they are throwing...". In other words, I have never heard "Throw out the baby..."! Thus it seems that the version I linked to is the more appropriate article title per wp:common names when it is more commonly recognized. - (Discuss) – My Kind of Love (song) → My Kind of Love – My Kind of Love is currently a redirect to My Kind of Love (Emeli Sandé song). However, no other article named My Kind of Love exists, so no need for disambiguation. Also, currently My Kind Of Love (with a capital 'O' in 'Of') redirects to My Kinda Love, possibly due to In the Land of Hi-Fi (Patti Page album), but I would argue WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Sandé's case, as both My Kind of Love (Emeli Sandé song) and Our Version of Events have considerably more hits than My Kinda Love and In the Land of Hi-Fi (Patti Page album), and even searching My Kinda Love on Google brings up Sandé's song first. So, my complete suggestion is to move My Kind of Love (Emeli Sandé song) to simply My Kind of Love, change My Kind Of Love to redirect to My Kind of Love and link the reference to My Kinda Love in In the Land of Hi-Fi (Patti Page album) directly to My Kinda Love. - (Discuss) – Wikipedia:Don't feed the divas → ? – Precedent: Move of WP:Don't be a dick to WP:Don't be a jerk, which didn't even involve any issues relating to WP:BIAS against women. The message of this essay (don't engage, or enable others to engage, in "entitled" demands to get one's way, especially through threats to quit the project) is important, but it offends (I've caught heat for even mentioning it) for the sole reason that its title and a few bits of its wording are pretty much the same thing as having this be at "WP:BITCH". There has to be a way to express this without being misogynistic, when Wikipedia's main point of criticism in academia and the press is a hostile editing environment for, and poor coverage of, women.[6][7][8] I detest unwarranted "political correction" and picking at "microaggressions", so if I find this troubling, it's probably inappropriate in an encyclopedia project. It's a PR and WP:Editor retention problem. It also defeats the point of the essay, which (as with WP:JERK) is intended to reduce strife, not generate more of it. The name no longer makes sense anyway, since its referent, WP:Don't feed the trolls is now WP:Deny recognition. I suggest many alternatives below (WP:Deny entitlement, etc.). - (Discuss) – Reception (American football) → Reception (American and Canadian football) – American and Canadian football articles on Wikipedia have been disambiguated using various terms, including "gridiron football", "American and Canadian football", "American football", and "football". As per WP:NC, these article titles should be consistent if possible. My preferred disambig would be "American and Canadian football". "Gridiron football" is the name for North American football used in some areas of the world outside of North America (especially Australia), but is not at all common in North America, where the sport is actually played. For the same reason that we wouldn't use "soccer" for a disambiguation of a football article, we shouldn't use "gridiron football" for a disambiguation of an American or Canadian football article. It isn't the name used by areas where the sport is actually played (and where people are most likely to search for these articles), so WP:COMMONNAME would seem to apply. I've created a page on my userspace with the list of articles that contain "American and Canadian football" for reference, which can be found here. If there is a consensus for use of "gridiron football", then those should be moved. In the interests of full disclosure, I moved some pages from a "gridiron football" disambig to an "American and Canadian football" disambig prior to learning that RM existed, but those are all on the userspace page and can always be moved back if needed. ~ RobTalk 07:52, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

- (Discuss) – Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary → Cretaceous–Tertiary boundary – As various comments above testify, numerous readers knowledgeable on these matters are WP:ASTONISHED by the current title of this article. Moreover, it does not appear to be supported by any category of RS. On Google scholar since 2010, I get 1,600 hits for the current form, 3,820 for the proposed form. This ngram also shows K-T dominating, although it goes up only to 2008. This article was moved in 2012 a result of this RM. The ICS recommended in 2005 that geologists stop referring to the following period as the "Tertiary." According to the logic of the previous move, this “changed the name” of the boundary. No. 1: It is quite common for geologists to use terms like "K–T boundary,” “KTB,” or “Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary” regardless of their views concerning period names. No. 2: The U.S Geological Survey and other geology heavyweights still produce time scales that feature the Tertiary, as you can see here and here. H. Humbert (talk) 16:07, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

- (Discuss) – Kingdom of Dazhou → Zhou (Zhang Shicheng's kingdom) – or something better. Basically a warlord's territory during a political upheaval period that is only notable militarily. Also refer to the discussion above. "Da" literally means "Great". In Chinese history it's a word prefixed to almost all state names, e.g. Ming dynasty (which by the way was founded around this period) is officially "Da Ming" or "Great Ming", but no one calls the state "Daming dynasty". There is another kingdom also named "Dazhou"/"Da Zhou"/"Great Zhou", namely Wu Sangui's state (1678–1681) that could easily get a page if Zhang Shicheng's state got one (both are short-lived), and as such the current title (or any close derivative) would be ambiguous. The fact that "Kingdom of Dazhou" or anything "Dazhou" gets only 1 or 2 results on Google Books search (methinks some consulted en.wiki) should be clear evidence that this is not a WP:COMMONNAME, so the ideal title should be something more historically correct. - (Discuss) – Template:Campaignbox Illyrian Invasions under Agron and Teuta → Template:Campaignbox Illyrian Expansion under Agron and Teuta – Illyrians were not simply 'raiding', their aim was to conquer territory. *At Phoenice, the Illyrians directly invaded Epirus with their army, clearly with an intent to capture territory. They captured Phoenice and then, instead of leaving, occupied the city (a raiding group would have plundered the city and left). They even fought a battle in order to repel an attempt to retake Phoenice by the Epirotes. *The Illyrians then invaded Epirus and occupied territory up to Antigoneia, not an action typical of raiders. Raiders usually act in order to capture booty and treasure, not to capture territory. Clearly Teuta was trying to expand her kingdom. *Issa was one of the last areas that 'held out' and Teuta attempted to conquer the island. She initiated a year long siege, meaning soldiers besieged and attempted to take the city and island. Not something raiders would bother to do. *At Epidamnus, the Illyrians twice tried to take the city, once besieging it. *At Paxos, the Illyrians captured and garissoned Corfu. I seriously doubt that all of these actions are simply actions of a group of raiders. Rather they clearly show an intent at conquering territory and expanding the Illyrian Kingdom. - (Discuss) – Haplogroup R-M173 → Haplogroup R1 – Revert undiscussed moves to the extremely rarely used terms by user:RebekahThorn here and here. Per WP:CONSISTENCY: after the associated articles Haplogroup R1b, Haplogroup R1a, and Haplogroup R1a1 are moved back to current titles, now "Haplogroup R-M173" must be moved to "Haplogroup R1" too so that these associated articles' titles remain consistent. Per WP:COMMONNAME, "Haplogroup R-M173" is used extremely rarely. Google Books search gets about 125 results for "Haplogroup R1", but only about 4 results for "Haplogroup R-M173". - (Discuss) – 1977 anti-Tamil pogrom → 1977 Sri Lankan riots – As per Wikipedia naming conventions, it is neutral and NPOV and stays in line with the rest of wikipedia (1929 Palestine riots, 1947 Jerusalem riots, 2005 Cronulla riots, 2006 Brussels riots, 2011 England riots). The current articles have been hijacked by editor(s) sympathetic to the nationalist cause and so have taken a highly POV and skewed tone. The term pogrom is highly problematic as it is a term used against jews and their persecution, which does not apply here but has been used for effect. These riots were political riots in response to the political situation of the island at the time, not an organised attempt to ethnically cleanse. People on both sides died and were led by political groups on both side. Ultimately the proposed changes are less controversial, neutral and to the point. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Mental disorder → Mental illness – A very simple rationale here: WP:COMMONNAME. Both informally, from my own experience (I have very rarely heard the term "mental disorder", whereas "mental illness" is in common use. And also from an ngram search: [12], "mental illness" has been several times more common in books than "mental disorder" for at least the last 40 years. This was originally moved as a result of a rather short dicussion at Talk:Mental_disorder/Archive_3#Mental_disorder_vs_Mental_illness in 2007, with those discussing it at the time acknowledging the common name issue, but reasoning that some health organisations prefer the term disorder. But our policy is to go with the common name in reliable sources, not to prefer anything just because it has more WP:OFFICIALNAME status, therefore I think the argument used at the time was contrary to policy. Two years ago, disambiguation was proposed, but there was no consensus, although it was closed as "not moved". Similar to Born This Way, the Madonna album of the same name looks more popular than the well-known song. However, "Like a Virgin" has been associated with the song, not the album, despite statistics. But we are not certain of whether the song is more primary than the album, so I propose the dab page to take the base title (again). Regarding the previous RM, there were three opposes and two supports, but opposition weighed in. This time, I'll include Google Book searches. Basically using a base title, the results look generic. - (Discuss) – Daniel Smith (footballer) → Daniel Smith (goalkeeper) – there are multiple footballers named Daniel Smith, so this is ambiguous disambiguation, and should point to the disambiguation page. WP:PRECISE ambiguous disambiguation is a bad idea. I note that the article describes neither birth nor death dates, so that is why I picked "goalkeeper" as there are other English footballers by this name. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – NAFC (disambiguation) → NAFC – Pthe soccer federation is hardly the primary topic of NAFC, since the NAFC is defunct and during the period it existed, soccer was not popular over most of North America. A simple google search [13] will not find many hits for the soccer organization, reinforcing it's lack of primarity. Indeed the mixed-martial-arts NAFC is much more popular. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – CCCF → Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol – It is absurd to refer to this page by its acronym. Especially with the entity it merged with (NAFC) is not. (See: North American Football Confederation). - Result: Lacks consistency When a Google search is performed for CCCF, the "Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol" is nowhere near "exclusive". The top 3 point to "Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation", "Chinese Community Center of Flushing", "CCCF April Table Tennis Open - Chinese Community", making another case for a terrible move. - Result: Lacks search strength / exclusivity Across the board, sports leagues, for example the National Basketball Association (but more commonly the NBA) are referred to by its whole name, with its championships following the acronym (NBA Finals), like this league now has properly. On the other hand, longer names like "Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football" can be shortened to CONCACAF, because it has exclusivity among searches and its length of name can suggest it without compromise, so it is consistent in that sense as well. Furthermore, to note that this league is referred mostly by its acronym is a complete fallacy when a proper search is done. See for yourselves CCCF; Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol Also, if it is going to be written in Spanish, use accent marks, like in Copa América. CCCF can be used as a redirect, like in countless other sports league articles. This page is no different. Contrary to the reason why it was moved prior, CCCF will NOT be used for a French hacking group, nor is it well known by its acronym as explained above. Let's maintain consistency. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Upper Midwest American English → North-Central American English – I'm not really sure where "Upper Midwest American English" comes from, from the standpoint of the academic research. "North Central American English" certainly receives over 10 times more hits on Google, largely since respected linguists like Labov refer to the variety by names like the "North Central dialect" and the dialect area itself as the "North Central region." Also, "Upper Midwest American English" seems rather unclear; why not use "Upper Midwestern American English" or even delete American and thus call it "Upper Midwest English"? The answer: because "Upper Midwest" (a common, non-linguistics name for the region) has been arbitrarily tacked onto "American English" in order to follow a trend established by other dialect names on WP, such as "Inland Northern American English," "Southern American English," "Mid-Atlantic American English," etc. However, we can still follow this general trend while using the name actually favored by linguists. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Wikipedia:WikiProject Life on Mars → WP:WikiProject Television/Life on Mars taskforce – This project is inactive, and the TV properties on which it is based have long since stopped producing new material. Like many other such inactive TV projects have done in the past, it should be merged into a task force of WikiProject Television. Indeed, there doesn't seem to have been activity for 5 years. All the subpages/subcategories would also move inline with the main pages. This WikiProject isn't about the main article by this name either Life on Mars, so topically unrelated to the main article. -- 67.70.32.20 (talk) 05:50, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

- (Discuss) – Kalolaa-kumukoa → Kalola-a-Kumukoa – Inline with the few reliable source on the subject. In the source (Esther T. Mookini "Keopuolani: Sacred Wife, Queen Mother, 1778-1823", p. 10) used to rationalized the recent move to "Kalolaa-kumukoa," a good faith edit, the author Esther T. Mookini is spelling "Kalolaakumukoa" with a break in the line on the page. I don't think this is a source in support of the spelling "Kalolaa-kumukoa." I encourage other users to look at page 10 of Mookini's article and tell me if they think differently; the pdf is in the handle net link on the page. The older title is supported by three reliable sources: Kamakau's Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p. 476; Edith Kawelohea McKinzie's Hawaiian Genealogies: Extracted from Hawaiian Language Newspapers, Vol. 2, p. 13, and Kapiikauinamoku's (Sammy Amalu) Story of Maui Royalty linked above. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Liao (state) → Liao (Zhou dynasty state) – Google Books searches of both "Liao state" and "State of Liao" are unanimously the Liao dynasty (with a handful of the "Western Liao state" results referring to the Kara-Khitan Khanate), therefore current title fails WP:Precise. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Tagalog (disambiguation) → Tagalog – No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Tagalog": "If there is no primary topic, the term should be the title of a disambiguation page". A reader searching for "Tagalog" may actually be seeking the people "Tagalogs" rather than "Tagalog (language)". So "Tagalog" where currently the language Tagalog is located should be moved back to "Tagalog language" (it was recently moved to the current title "Tagalog" because of this move request), and the base tiitle "Tagalog" should be reserved as a disambiguation page. - (Discuss) – Waterloo Campaign: Start of hostilities (15 June) → Waterloo Campaign: Start of hostilities – As I mentioned in the section above, I don't think having the date is necessary here. As far as I'm aware, there is no other Waterloo Campaign starts to disambiguate it from and it's also excessively precise as the article actually covers the 8th to the 15th of June. I would also be OK with a more descriptive title such as Beginning of hostilities in the Waterloo Campaign or Start of hostilities in the Waterloo Campaign, rather than the sub-title format currently used, but I should note that this article appears to be part of a series that all use the sub-title format, and some of them don't seem to have an obvious descriptive title to change to. --Relisted. - (Discuss) – Stations of the Namma Metro → List of Namma Metro stations – Without discussion, this article was moved from its original List of Namma Metro stations article title by InfernalH; InfernalH also greatly expanded the content of this article (per WP:COATRACK?) beyond its original intended focus as a simple list article. All of these moves are probably controversial, and probably merit further discussion, especially in regards to whether InfernalH's recent move (and article expansion) was appropriate, which is the purpose of this requested move request. --Relisted.
