Would you please handle the following problems:
- TheFarix is opening a whole can of worms here for me. I really don't think it's my responsibility to fix their broken links. I would appreciate restoration of my edits to "The Kabocha Wine", too. Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 10:30, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Knife-in-the-drawer by using archive.is and http://www.akitashoten.co.jp/comics/4253250912 akitashoten.co.jp]. I was able to fix a link. Can you check the rest please? -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:03, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
I fixed all. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:11, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Fine, but--with all due respect--I'm not sure you handled the problem properly.
- I have dealt with several other manga articles in a similar fashion. The WikiProject Anime and Manga should put a little effort into fixing all urls to akitashoten (instead of acting like managers who direct other people to do their work). Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 11:23, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Knife-in-the-drawer you are right in most of it but at some point we, as community, would have to face the problem to find the correct urls. I am confident we can now. If we don't I'll support the deletion of the urls since it's about books and not all books are covered by urls. We could even find completely different urls covering them. -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:05, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Article: L and M-class destroyer
Talk page: User talk:Sturmvogel 66#L and M-class destroyer
The editor wants to keep an invalid ISBN because it points to a WorldCat page. Strangely enough, it does work, but WorldCat does not list the invalid ISBN (or any ISBN) on that page. WorldCat references the publication by an oclc code alone.
Bottomline for me: I'm concerned, as usual, about opening a can of worms. With literally 1000s of broken ISBNs still to fix, I don't want to check every invalid ISBN to see whether it works with WorldCat, and I don't want to have a lengthy discussion with every editor who clings to an invalid ISBN. (...and, as usual, I would like my edit reinstated. :-) Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 05:29, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Knife-in-the-drawer and yet again I am shuffling the problem without giving a perfect solution. I hope that at the end of the day they won't be many books with this problem. -- Magioladitis (talk) 07:25, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Looks good. Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 09:28, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Fiberfab - German Wiki
Hi Magioladitis - I noted you deleted the link to the German Wiki on the grounds that Wiki can't self reference. Is there some way we can link to the article as it is relevant to the article in that it is about Fiberfab Germany, whereas the article is about the US operation. NealeFamily (talk) 22:39, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
- Redrose64 maybe you can help me here? -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:02, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

- Redrose64 I did this. Could I have done something better? -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:18, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- It's debatable, we have WP:NONENGEL and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking#Non-English-language sites which doesn't encourage such ELs. Personally I would leave it out, because de:Fiberfab Inc. links to de:Fiberfab-Karosserie. Better would be to write the article Fiberfab-Karosserie and link to that in the "See also" section of Fiberfab. But if a link to the German page is included on Fiberfab, it's better to format it as an internal (rather than external) link
[[:de:Fiberfab-Karosserie|Fiberfab-Karosserie]]
→ Fiberfab-Karosserie. See H:ILL#Inline links. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:36, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for the delay! I have been was overseas and I returned yesterday. Usually this is not an issue, but recently there were serious problems with the mainboard of the workstation where I run FrescoBot, so now it stopped waiting for an unplanned hardware update. Today I will install pywikipedia on a different pc and I will run the scripts at least on 090 and 091 lists. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 05:46, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Bot ideas - changing date formats in citations
Oh yes, On "Wikipedia:Bot requests #Need bot that can change the formats of dates.", I made a request for changing the erroneous date formats for citations. Shall we discuss here or on the Bot Request page? Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 08:39, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Time to consult the gurus
Since focusing on the dump files, I have become disappointed with my "ISBNs fixed / hour" ratio. There are several responsible factors...a few seem fixable at present.
Questions
- Is it possible to tell WPCleaner to run "Full Analysis" for a limited set of CheckWiki errors? (I know about the "Project Check Wikipedia" button on the main window. That's not what I need because it only works for the CheckWiki error listings, not for an article specified in the "Page" text box on the main window.)
- If it's not possible to run "Full Analysis" for a limited set of CheckWiki errors with WPCleaner, can you direct me to another utility program with that capability? I'm wasting too much time waiting as WPCleaner processes all 103+ CheckWiki errors.
- Once (and only once), I saw an article with an old-looking template at the top. The template was related to ISBNs, and it contained a link for (I guess) checking ISBNs in the article. I clicked the link, the screen turned white, and a small "report" was output. Do you know the template or the program initiated by the link?
- In short, I need a lightweight program that will quickly tell me all of the ISBN errors in an article.
Suggested enhancements
- The CheckWiki error listings are fine because they specify the "Article" and a "Notice" about the specific error instance. Problem: They only specify the first error instance. If the article has more than one instance of that error, I must wait until tomorrow's CheckWiki error listing run, or I must run WPCCleaner.
- The dump files--they only specify the name of the article. I must run WPCleaner twice for each article. Once to find the errors, and once to make sure that I've corrected all of the errors.
- Suggested enhancement: If, for each erroneous article, the dump files specified the bad ISBNs, I could eliminate the first WPCleaner run. (Yeah, but the program that produces the dumps would take longer to run)

- Then the edit summary should reflect this per WP:BOTCOMM/Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard/Archive 6#General notice to bot owners about edit summaries. Also WP:NULL would be a better way to achieve this. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 11:56, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

The edits themselves on AN are still visible, even though the user and edit summaries have been hidden. If you were working on that as I type this, very sorry to bother you—but I figured I'd better give a heads-up all the same because that stuff shouldn't be visible a minute longer than needed. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 22:55, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yup, you were working on that. In that case, thank you for your quick response and sorry to have wasted your time by posting here. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 22:56, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- AddWittyNameHere I think it's a Wikipedia software bug. I can't delete the revision text after the username was hidden. I would like to hide more of it. -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:56, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

- Yup, it's now hidden/revdel'ed/suppressed (whichever one of the three, can't tell from my side of the screen) for all non-admins like me, so there's that. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the AN, ANI & newuser log. This is the third or so reappearance today that I've witnessed, and the dozenth+ in barely a week; I don't doubt more will follow. Per WP:RBI, can I simply post here when I see yet another reappearance? Don't want to give them the satisfaction of posting to a highly-public place like ANI or AIV & less work to revdel things is always good. (However, if you'd rather not, or if you'd rather I choose a different method, let me know) AddWittyNameHere (talk) 23:02, 1 June 2015 (UTC) EDIT: as long as you're online/have recent actions, of course. No use reporting to you when you're away.

An interesting ISBN fix
To fix the broken ISBN in "Midnight Sun (Elena song)", I needed to watch a music video on YouTube. During the video, the Romanian singer appears on an album cover that, the Wiki article claims, shows an ISBN. Sure enough--there was a blurry bar code, not an ISBN. After cranking up the resolution, I could read it. The article had the digits correct. :-) Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 13:29, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- Knife-in-the-drawer Haha. Wow. And I thought I was a great investigator because I used a Greek site to fix an ISBN yesterday. :) -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:34, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
NBA 2K16
Hello. I saw this edit. I pretty much know next to nothing about categories. Why were those two removed? I just assumed they belonged. —DangerousJXD (talk) 04:25, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- DangerousJXD I removed those lines because the were duplicates. Notice that the categories are still in the page. -- Magioladitis (talk) 04:27, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- Of course! See, I copied all the categories from NBA 2K15 and when checking to make sure it's right, I (mistakenly) saw those two were missing and added them. Sorry about that. —DangerousJXD (talk) 04:33, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
