I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Carnaval Brasileiro in Austin, Texas, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! --Trevj (talk) 08:25, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Capitalist crimes against humanity
Hello. Just a question about the speedy of this article. Were you aware that the page had been tagged previously for a speedy and then declined? As far as I can recall I have never seen a speedy delete after one has already been declined. I have no issues with is being deleted just merely curious. I assume this was IAR because it was an attack page? France3470 (talk) 03:29, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Prods
When you place a Prod it is necessary to give a reason. Otherwise, it's like taking something to AfD and saying only, I want this deleted. In patrolling Prod, sometimes I can guess, sometimes I can't. Tomorrow I am declining all prod nominations which do not have a reason specified. If they are really obvious to me, in which case I shall renominate them with a reason, I do not intend this to be taken to mean that you should not re-nominate the others for Prod--it's a technical removal only. DGG ( talk ) 05:22, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
-
- i think you omitted it on most of the prods you did; either check your contributions or go to WP:PRODSUM and look for the recent ones without reason--most are your's: to start with Information technology industry in Chhattisgarh
Similarly, a reason of "non-notable" for all PRODs is not the best. Firstly, it doesn't show why you think it's not notable - did you try looking for sources? Secondly it's not helpful to new editors, including many article creators, who aren't familiar with Wiki jargon. If you quote a policy in PROD, it is helpful to link to it, e.g. "Doesn't meet notability guidelines for companies".--Pontificalibus (talk) 07:50, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

You can at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
McCabe school and other school articles
I have declined your Prod on McCabe school, and several other school articles, because no reason or rationale for deletion was specified. The general practice is to merge and/or redirect elementary/middle school articles to their district (US) or to their locality (elsewhere). If you consider that a school page should be deleted then a reason should be given why a merge and/or redirect is not appropriate. TerriersFan (talk) 22:54, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Learn to Read of St. Johns County
I see you prodded the above article for deletion. However, you didn't specify a reason for the prod. Just letting you know else it would have been prodded for nothing. LordVetinari 11:55, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I agreed with the article being prodded (I've since endorsed it) but I knew that if no reason was given, it would have failed and we only would have had to go to AfD, considering the ban on re-prodding. Saves trouble this way (assuming the prod is not contested). LordVetinari 14:02, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I've just declined one of your prods as there was no reason given for it, and when I went to the talkpage of the creator to see how you'd explained the prod to them I couldn't find an explanation there either. May I suggest that you put your reason in the concern field in the prod, and please remember to inform the author. Thanks ϢereSpielChequers 18:36, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Maryknoll School of Lupon
Hi. The PROD template you recently placed on article did not include a rationale, and has therefore been declined. Please read WP:DELETION and WP:NPP, and if you are unsure of the policies involved don't hesititate to ask me on my talk page. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:50, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
I see that you have just nominated
List of Precision Bass players for deletion. The easiest way to document what guitar a bass player uses is with pictures. How many of these documentations would it take to keep the list? Does every one on the list need to be footnoted? This list seems to be fairly well policed by editors who care what instrument is being played. It is also possible that many of the article about the musicians included (they are all blue links mention what bass they play. Would that suffice? I understand that wikipedia is reluctant to allow its self to be used as a source, but, how can we expect others to take us seriously if we ourselves do not? I almost just removed your tag, but figured that some sort of discussion first was in order. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 00:13, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- I just saw this somewhere. "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." But that's not why I am here. Notice that I have been posting pictures of musicians playing a Fender Precision bass guitar. Is that documentation enough? At least for the players involved? It should (opinion) be enough to get the list alive, even if 75 % (to make up a statistic) of the folks on it get removed. Then if someone gets returned to it, it will be up to the editor involved to properly document that musician's inclusion. Sound okay? Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 19:42, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Tag Removal from B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
In this edit you removed the {{notability}} tag claiming "needs cleanup but is notable".
WP:UNIGUIDE#Sub-articles states that "In general [an institution's [...] constituent academic colleges] are not notable (see WP:ORG) and should not be split off from the main institution article in the absence of significant coverage by reliable, independent sources."
How do you know the subject of this article is notable? Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) requires "significant coverage in secondary sources" which I can't find in any of these: (Find sources: "Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · highbeam · JSTOR · free images · wikipedia library)

Research survey invitation
Greetings Neutrality-
My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Oregon, studying digital media and online community. I am posting to invite you to participate in my research study exploring the work of Wikipedia editors who are members of WikiProject: Countering Systemic Bias. The online survey should take 20 to 25 minutes to complete and can be found here:
https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_cSHzuwaQovaZ6ss
Your responses will help online communication researchers like me to better understand the collaborations, challenges, and purposeful work of Wikipedia editors like you. In addition, at the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to express your interest in a follow-up online interview with the researcher.
This research project has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Research Committee as well as the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon. For a detailed description of the project, please visit its Meta page. This survey is voluntary, and your confidentiality will be protected. You will have the choice of using your Wikipedia User Name during the research or creating a unique pseudonym. You may skip any question you choose, and you may withdraw at any time. By completing the survey, you are providing consent to participate in the research.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via my Talk Page (UOJComm) or via email. My faculty advisor is Dr. Ryan Light. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, please contact the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Randall Livingstone School of Journalism & Communication University of Oregon UOJComm (talk) 04:18, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of Burra Record
Hi Neutrality I would like to query why you deleted the Burra Record article. It had been nominated for speedy deletion for copyright infringement even though the discussion page of the article showed that the copyright holder had given permission for the text to be used and the clearance from the Wikipedia Permissions team was pending. I had contested the nomination for speedy deletion because of this. I have followed the process explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The copyright holder of http://www.samemory.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?c=2616 is the State Library of South Australia and I am a librarian there. I appreciate that Wikipedia is very vigilent in protecting copyright however, it is very frustrating to follow what I have been told is the correct procedure for donating in-copyright work to Wikipedia to have it continually removed regardless. Kind regards Joannalibrarian (talk) 03:53, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Deletion of Burra Record/OTRS ticket 2011070410000244
Hi, the article was deleted due to copyright infringement. OTRS has received permission from the copyright holder under CC-by-sa-3.0 to use the material. If you have OTRS access, please consult ticket# 2011070410000244. The copyright holder says the material was marked as OTRS pending, but as I haven't seen it, I naturally cannot confirm that. I ask that the article be restored. Cheers! Asav (talk) 11:21, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

List of animals at the North Carolina Zoo
Hey. Just a note to let you know I restored List of animals at the North Carolina Zoo. I won't restate my reasoning here but you can see it on the talk page of the list and seconded by the only other comment there. As I said there, I'm not terribly attached to the list, but I do object to it being removed with no explanation and despite the discussion on the talk page which was in favor of keeping. Hello Neutrality The paper by Camilo Moro et al is available here [1] This link is given in the Guardian article but why no go directly to it? - especially since the conclusion is questionable (as it should be). - Yes. Linking to both sources is a good idea. This study, by the way, has philosophical flaws- what a species is is subjective, what
constitutes a higher taxon much more so. Wiki should be most useful here, presenting different views as the Cambridge study is assessed. Best wishes again and thanks for the quick reply.Notafly (talk) 12:41, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I reverted your proposed deletion, because (a) you need to state a good reason for deletion, (b) deletion of an entry for an ethic gorup is likely to be controversial, and (c) merger may be possible outside of the deletion processes (CSD, AfD, ProD) -- which will save the article's "history". I also removed this Prod (sorry!), because ethnography articles are likely to be contested deletions. I looked on google via several different searches (in English) and found a few possible sources. Hi, I should be grateful if you would take a second look at this close, please. I think,at worst, this should have been closed as 'no consensus' and I really see no basis in the discussion for removing the article. TerriersFan (talk) 01:05, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- I came here to ask the same question. It was an unusual relist, true, since the weight of arguments was not even at the time - a fact noted by the relisting admin - but comments following the relist ran 3-1 in favor of keeping the article. This would inch it toward no consensus, I would think. If nothing else, and if you get a chance, could you expand on your rationale? Thanks in advance, either way. Prods
I reviewed the large group of the expired plods you had placed, for which you gave only the reason "non-notable" . For some of them, the article qualified for speedy deletion, & I deleted them accordingly; for some, it was quite evident there was no real chance of references for notability , and I deleted them also; for some, the subjects were ones where I am not able to make an estimate of the likelihood of sourcing, and I left them for other admins, Some seemed mergeable, and I so marked them, because according to WP:Deletion policy, deletion is the last resort. But for about half, there was no way to tell whether or not they would be notable without looking for sources, and there was no indication that this had been done. The criterion for deletion as non notable, is the inability to find sources for notability , not there merely not being any in the article. Often I am prepared taccept the responsibility of checking this when partolling the expired prods, but there were too many such all at once, so for ones where I thought there might be such sources, I said so and removed the prods, giving some variant of "First look for sources, & if not found, only then nominate for deletion." Prod works nicely, if not overwhelmed, and if specific reasons are given, especially when a try is made at sourcing and inability to do so can be reported. But merely saying "non-notable" is just IDONTTHINKITSNOTABLE, which is not a policy based reason for deletion--the answer to that is, appropriately, WHYNOT? DGG ( talk ) 00:47, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

"Twentieth century impressions of Siam"
I asked for help on its talk page to make "Twentieth century impressions of Siam" into a Wikisource, and also help on writing a Wiki article on an obscure reference book that, if known about, would provide valuable historical information on many Thai articles where early Twentieth century impressions of Siam would provide valuable insight. For instance, up until last month, no article on Siam had any information at all on where that term came from. If you click on it now, it takes you directly to a paragraph explaining what little is known about the word, and which was directly inspired by "Twentieth century impressions of Siam," which is now red-linked. The book also has a chapter on the Thai Royal Survey Department by an actual member of it, who was personally acquainted with pioneering surveyors, foreign and native. The department is today part of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters Special Services Group. Impressions makes it clear that Royal survey work had an impressive role in preparing Siam to move from the Mandala system to Monthon, and beyond.
I'm still furious about an ignorant remark on the talk page to the effect that a book written specifically to dispel Western stereotypical thinking, even before stereotype came into usage, was itself stereotypical of stereotypes of East Asians in the Western world, which itself is valuable only into insights into the American mind. Stereotypes of East Asians in the Eastern world would be of great help into insights into the Oriental mind, and would help in understanding some off-the-cuff remarks in twentieth century impressions of Siam — indeed, into understanding Siam, itself.
I'm getting senile, and would appreciate some help in turning a non-notable reference book into a valuable one, given that it has recently been digitized and is now on-line and can be copied from, and therefore do[es] not need to be borrowed. The latter circumstance is, in all likelihood, what has kept it non-notable. Who can note what they don't know exists? --Pawyilee (talk) 08:35, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Changes to closed AFD
I'm just letting you know that Art at loggerhead went back to a previously closed AFD [Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ijosé Chow] and added a little comment to it as well as deleting the link I'd posted to a previous discussion. Cafe Gratitude prod
Just FYI, I found more sources for Cafe Gratitude (which you had prodded), so I declined the prod. It's still not the greatest article, so it could be AfD'd on notability grounds, though you'd have to check to make sure there aren't even more sources out there. schools which are "not independently notable"
I'm aware of Wikipedia:Notability. However, I'm not convinced that taking a school stub and redirecting it to a list-class school district article results in any net improvement to the encyclopedia. What's your process for deciding whether a school is notable? —Stepheng3 (talk) 16:50, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- Most schools get occasional coverage in local newspapers. For example, a search of Google News shows that Lawrence E. Jones Middle School was covered in The Press Democrat here. In your opinion, would that satisfy the GNG? —Stepheng3 (talk) 19:12, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think the word "routine" applies when the renaming of a school touches off discord among the trustees and the parents. Your proposed summary doesn't cover that aspect of the news story at all. Also, since WP:ROUTINE is part of Wikipedia:Notability (events) I would only apply it to articles about specific events, not to events mentioned in an article about a school or school district. Best regards, —Stepheng3 (talk) 20:37, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

All I am permitted to say
You have mistaken WP:MOS for a useful page, one full of advice derived by consensus from the actual practice of English writing. Observe who, and how few, defend it; observe whether their practice is based on English, or indeed on reason; observe how those who object are insulted and silenced (I have been silenced).
Then, if you see fit, do what I do: ignore it and write English. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 04:26, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Osceola2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Hello Neutrality, I just now created article Redington (India) Ltd. After writing the article, I decided to move the page to Redington (India) Limited so that acronym for “Ltd” can be avoided. It was then I noticed that “Redington (India) Limited” was created 3 times in Jun 2011 and was deleted every time (A7, G11 & G12). As a result, the name has been blocked from creation. Redington is a public listed company with revenues over $3.4 billion. Since it is listed in two of the biggest stock markets in the world (BSE & NSE), I think there is a clear case for the article to be created and kept. Please review Redington (India) Ltd and should you deem fit, can you please move the page to “Redington (India) Limited”? Many thanks. Cheers AKS (talk) 14:38, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

"Vermont" article citation format
You have appeared to have established the citation format for "Vermont" with this edit. Would you please say what format that is? MLA perhaps? Jc3s5h (talk) 16:19, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- After looking at MLA manual it showsa\ a colon between location and publisher, but not between publisher and year. Do you usually use MLA and the colons in the article are errors? Jc3s5h (talk) 19:47, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
-
- Thanks. I would think the article should follow the current version of MLA, since many citations need to be fixed and it would be impractical to find an old version of the manual. Unless, of course, a consensus is reached to use a different citation style. Jc3s5h (talk) 19:56, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted
I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.
This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.
We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!
I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.
Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.
Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 15:27, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

User script list deprecation
Wikipedia's list of user scripts is in bad shape, in that it is disorganized and contains many non-working, unmaintained, or thoroughly obsolete entries. Cleanup has been on the to-do list since 2007, but little progress has been made. Instead, the whole list is now set to be deprecated on 1 May 2012, to be replaced with a new list. This draft list has been up for about a month, and in that time I've been soliciting script users and authors to come add scripts they know to be working and relevant.
If you know of scripts that you would like to survive this deprecation (and are confirmed working and relevant), you're welcome to add them to the new list. Note that the old list will be retained and linked from the main list, so there is no real deadline. Thanks for your help. Equazcion (talk) 00:56, 22 Apr 2012 (UTC)

Forward AFD
Hi Neutrality. Regarding your deletion of Forward (generic name of socialist publications), you described in the AFD that it was a "significant synthesis case." However, as a few participants in the AFD mentioned, because the position that the word "forward" is a common and significant name for left-wing publications had already been made and did not originate from the article, arguments that it is synthesis are patently incorrect. Please could you elaborate? Thanks. WilliamH (talk) 14:22, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
I am more interested in seeing what the original article actually said. I looked through links on the current page but could not find the original content. Is there a link to that original article before it was deleted? Or you can post a link or the content to my email if that is preferable to you. I just want to read it. Thanks. JimScott (talk) 13:52, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link. Read it over. Examined the history. Well, IMHO Wikipedia got snookered. Until Nov 2011 it was just a little article with a list of publications. Then in Apr 2012 someone added a line of dubious merit and managed to get y'all dialoguing while they turned it into an even bigger political statement. IMHO, reversion and lockdown was all that was needed. Surprised to see all these veteren Wikipedians taken in so easily. SDYWSDYL I guess. LoL. Thanks again and have a great day. Re: Hawaiian cuisine
- Modern Hawaiian cuisine may also include a style of cuisine that has emerged over the past two decades, now known as Hawaii regional cuisine (Abbreviated as HRC).
I'm not going to contest this removal, as it was poorly written, but the editor who added it was trying to summarize one of the major developments discussed in the history of the cuisine, "Late 19th – 20th century" section, so it really isn't an "unreferenced assertion" at all. Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Samson Sesamstraße.png.
If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. The article Genesis 1:2 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Too specific. Already covered in other articles, and therefore unnecessary.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Jess· Δ♥ 03:51, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

There is a great flood of quotes and opinion from so many different people...if they do not have direct context in the article at all or are just say almost nothing and add no encyclopedic value...I say lose it and see if anyone objects. If they do they should object and have good reason, though be sure and not resist re-adding it and explaining to gain consensus.--Amadscientist (talk) 10:49, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Burgeranch logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Burgeranch logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:00, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of National Security Education Program
![](https://web.archive.org/web/20150607021736im_/https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/cf/Copyright-problem.svg/48px-Copyright-problem.svg.png)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on National Security Education Program requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wylve (talk) 15:34, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Inner Circle of Advocates

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Inner Circle of Advocates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the page be "userfied" or emailed to you. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 16:44, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Inner Circle of Advocates until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 18:13, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Ancient Roman cuisine
… is in shambles, but it's better than nothing. The stuff you're deleting is harmless. If you mark specific points that you think can't be verified, I'll try to address them. But as the only contributor to Food and dining in the Roman Empire, and someone who regularly contributes to topics pertaining to ancient Rome, I would be interested in hearing more about your concerns. File permission problem with File:Massachusetts State House frontal view.jpg
[[File:Copyrip>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.ght-problem.svg|64px|left|alt=|link=]] Thanks for uploading File:Massachusetts State House frontal view.jpg, which you've attributed to http://kestan.com/travel/boston/index.htm. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Proposed deletion of The Almanac of American History
![Ambox warning yellow.svg](https://web.archive.org/web/20150607021736im_/https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/74/Ambox_warning_yellow.svg/48px-Ambox_warning_yellow.svg.png)
The article The Almanac of American History has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Couldn't establish WP:NOTABILITY
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 19:18, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Redirect of Arlington Court Community page to Charleston, West Virginia page
Hello,
I don't understand why my page created for Arlington Court community (townhouse community, not a government subdivision) was redirected to Charleston, WV, where there is no mention of Arlington Court.
We are a somewhat significant historic townhouse community within Charleston, WV. We think we deserve our own page, with perhaps a link to Charleston, WV's page.
Would you please undo the redirect? Thank you,
Johnwstreet (talk) 21:43, 13 August 2013 (UTC)John Street, Resident and owner of 17 Arlington Court, Charleston, West Virginia
Hello "Neutrality"--We would all here at Arlington Court love it if you would leave our little page alone on big ol' Wikipedia. There is no need to redirect us to Charleston, West Virginia's page--where there is no mention of our 22-unit, 100+-year-old townhouse community--because We Are Not A Governmental Entity. We are not an administrative subdivision of Charleston, West Virginia; we are a self-styled community of 22 townhome owners in the middle of the most urban part of Appalachia, arguably. We love it here and (most of us) wouldn't live anywhere else. If you're ever actually in Charleston, West Virginia, you should stop by for a visit. Take in our 22 individual gardens, our 100+ years of being vibrant neighbors in the community. We also have West Virginia's first Little Free Library. So, in closing, we are not an official neighborhood--but we do exist. Please leave our page alone. Thanks! Johnwstreet (talk) 01:18, 15 August 2013 (UTC)johnwstreet

Bill Titles
Hi there! I noticed that this weekend you spend a while and renamed 40 different articles. Can you explain to me why you did that? Several other editors have removed the bill numbers and tried to argue that this information was unnecessary for disambiguating them. This is a common misconception about how Congress names things. The House and the Senate will sometimes each introduce a bill with the same name where the provisions of the bill are wildly different (even opposed). Congress also reuses bill titles in Congress after Congress if the bill with that title does not pass the first time around. Congress will even introduce multiple bills by the same name in the same chamber, where the only difference is the bill number. Including the bill number and congress number in the article readily disambiguates and cuts down on confusion. By removing that data, you take away information from readers. If you want to read more of the debate about this, you can see this talk page. Hopefully this information on Congressional naming procedures will help you understand why it is beneficial to have the bill number and congress in the article title. If you still disagree, I'd like to hear more about why. Thanks. HistoricMN44 (talk) 15:47, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Invitation to an academic survey
Dear Neutrality, My real name, as disclosed on my user page, is Piotr Konieczny, and I am currently affiliated with the Department of Informational Sociology at Hanyang University.
I am writing an academic article about ArbCom, details of which are outlined at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Arbitration_Committee_and_decision-making_on_Wikipedia . To my knowledge, it is going to be the second time ArbCom has been analyzed in an academic paper after the 2009 paper http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1354424. I hope my research will help us to understand and refine the intriguing institution that is ArbCom. For the record, you can see my prior academic research on Wikipedia here: http://scholar.google.pl/citations?hl=en&user=gdV8_AEAAAAJ
As such, I wonder if you would mind answering a short survey about your time as a arbitrator? I promise the questions will be few and short, and of course your responses would be anonymous and confidential. The survey shouldn't take more than five minutes of your time. Your privacy would be fully respected: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Arbitration_Committee_and_decision-making_on_Wikipedia#Wikimedia_Policies.2C_Ethics.2C_and_Human_Subjects_Protection

Communities in Vermont (area) question
I just got back from a trip to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. I noticed that many communities named (say) Anywhere has a community to the east called East Anywhere and maybe one to the south called South Anywhere. Are these considered separate communities or the same? How does this work? I have lots of pictures from this region and I'm wondering how to incorporate some of these into Wikipedia (once I get that far). Royalbroil 02:41, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, they would be considered separate in Wisconsin too. I've never been to New England before and there are other major differences from the other states that I've visited. Thanks for the rapid response. Royalbroil 03:12, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

The AFD you started for Julie Iny
In October 2011 you started an AFD for [[Julie Iny], but deleted it within minutes remarking "will do later". Was there a reason you never did? As in, did you discover something notable about Iny? Asking because I just started an AFD. I have never started one before, but the article abou Iny just looked so, well, paltry.ShulMaven (talk) 00:27, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Margie Nichols

The article Margie Nichols has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Vanity page constructed exclusively of press releases and primary sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. CorporateM (Talk) 18:48, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Dennis Rader booking.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Dennis Rader booking.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:22, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

MU.ZZ.LE
Hi,
Just wondering why you deleted the article on the album MU.ZZ.LE, citing that it did not meet WP:NALBUMS, yet it seems fairly clear that it satisfies criterion number one on the list, "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble who created it." Just from a fairly short search I have found reviews at the BBC [5], The Guardian [6], and others [7]. Surely this should at the very least have had a full WP:AfD listing before being deleted? deletion of Billy Anderson (music)
The deletion of Billy Anderson (Music) page is unwarranted and i request that the page be reinstated. I have been producing and playing on albums since 1987, please refer to my discography http://billyanderson.net/discography.html where i am cited and verifiable on any album on the list's liner notes as both producer, engineer or musician/member of band. or [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] And so forth. To have done this for so long and have it said that i do not meet the criteria for music or musician is insulting and i request to have the Billy Anderson (Music) page reinstated. Thank you.
