Hi! I am Ravi from Chennai and I contribute mainly on topics related to South India. My interests include history, culture and archaeology.
My ancestors hail from the village of Serugudi in the Thiruvidaimarudur taluk of Thanjavur district from where they gradually moved to the then city of Madras in stages between 1905 and 1992.
In the 18th century, British administrators described the rice fields of the south as the most fertile lands they ruled anywhere in the world giving three harvests a year. And they thought that the people of the southern rice fields were among the most moral and hard-working
