Biography
Early life
Farentino was born Deborah Mullowney in Lucas Valley, California. She attended Miller Creek Junior High School, and Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, California. She attended UCLA and was a model for Ford before becoming an actress.
Career
Farentino has been an actress since 1982 when she appeared in the TV series Capitol and has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, including Hooperman (1987-1989) and Son of the Pink Panther (1993). She has guest starred in several series including NYPD Blue (1994), the revival of The Outer Limits (1996), JAG (2002), and CSI: Miami (2003). Perhaps her most famous role was as Devon Adair in NBC's short lived SciFi series Earth 2. Her most recent roles include as Isabelle Matia-Paris in the ABC series Wildfire and Beverly Barlowe in the Syfy Channel series Eureka.
I don't know anyone else who has been on as many shows as I have at my age and hasn't had a hit, You'd think a track record like that would discourage people from hiring me. But I think it works in my favor. Because I've had the opportunity to work a lot and not be pigeonholed. Maybe there's something to this one season- and-out thing.[1]
She was chosen as one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 1995, while pregnant with daughter Sophie. Married four times, she took the last name of her second husband, actor James Farentino, which stuck long afterward.
