Gerard Damien Long (born November 9, 1990), better known by his stage name Hodgy Beats, is an American rapper and producer. He is a member of the hip hop collective OFWGKTA as the duo MellowHype with Left Brain, as well as "MellowHigh" with Domo Genesis.

Music career
Hodgy Beats was an original member of OFWGKTA along with Tyler, the Creator, fellow MellowHype member Left Brain, The Super 3, Jasper Dolphin and Taco. Hodgy was the first member of Odd Future to release a solo record. He released The Dena Tape in 2009. On April 5, 2011, MellowHype performed the song "64" on the Fuel TV program The Daily Habit with Bass Drum of Death. MellowHype also performed their song "65" for the BBC music showcase.[1]
Hodgy Beats has been featured on various albums including Bastard and Goblin by Tyler, The Creator, Earl by Earl Sweatshirt, Rolling Papers by Domo Genesis, and The OF Tape Vol. 2 with Odd Future. He appeared on "Outta Control", a song from Stones Throw rapper M.E.D.'s album Classic, produced by fellow Los Angeles native Madlib. Hodgy also appeared in the music video for that song which was released after the song was released. [2]
On August 5th, 2012, Hodgy announced an unnamed MellowHype mixtape, to be released on September 11th, via his Twitter.[3] Which would turn into MELLOWHYPEWEEK. Later he would also release Numbers with Mellowhype.
Hodgy is also appeared on Trash Talk's album, 119, on the track "Blossom & Burn" along with Tyler, The Creator. He was also announced to appear on Tyler's new album, Wolf, on the track "Jamba."[4]
Personal life
Gerard Long was born in and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. He is of African American and Filipino descent. At the age of nine, he moved to Southern California after his mother got married.[5] He attended Pasadena High School in Pasadena, California.
On August 1, 2011, his long-time girlfriend Cortney Brown gave birth to their son, named Trenton Long. Vyron Turner (Left Brain) is Trenton's God father.[6]
