'''Phillips Holmes''' (b. July_22, 1907 in Grand_Rapids, Michigan - d. July_221942 in Ontario, Canada) was a movie star of the 1930s. Son of stage star Taylor_Holmes, Phillips enjoyed a privileged childhood and received his education at Princeton_University, Trinity_College, and in Paris. Holmes made his screen debut in 1928. From there, he became a major star, although he was often typecast. After retiring, Holmes joined the Canadian_Royal_Air_Force; he was in his early thirties when he was killed in a mid-air collision.
Phillips Holmes has a star on the Hollywood_Walk_of_Fame.
