bTV is the first private-owned national television channel in Bulgaria. It is owned by Balkan News Corporation, a part of News Corporation, and is reportedly the Bulgarian television channel with the largest audience. The channel is broadcast by air in Bulgaria and by satellite in other parts of Europe, as well as recorded in the Internet. bTV's first broadcast was on 1 June 2000 using BNT transmitters. The channel began broadcasting 24 hours a day in 2001 after having gradually extended its programme.

Reality shows
Beauty and the Geek. Bulgarian version of the show was aired in 2005. It was produced by Seven/Eight Production. The winner team - Siana & Alexander won a vacation, 2 cars and cash. Host of the show was the reporter Borislav Lazarov. It was not successful in ratings, competing with Nova Television's Big Brother 2.
Survivor BG is the local version of the show Survivor. The prize is 250 000 lv (around 125 000 Euro).
Season 1 The first season started on September 20, 2006 and ended on December 11, 2006. Host of the season was the famous bulgarian actor Kamen Vodenicharov. The winner was Neli Ivanova from Burgas. The show was very successful, especially on the season finale, having higher ratings than the season finale of Big Brother 3.
Season 2 The second season premiered on September 24, 2007 (there was a pre-season show on September 19, presenting the paricipants). There is a new host - the actor Vladimir Karamazov. The winner is kept in secret and will be announced in December.
Music Idol is the Bulgarian version of the popular talent search show - The Idol series. The show was hosted by Ivan & Andrei - famous Bulgarian TV Stars. The Judges were famous Bulgarian singers: Jordanka Hristova, Slavi Trifonov, Gloriya, Doni. The show was broadcasted from February 26, 2007, to June 7, 2007. The winner of the show is Nevena Tsoneva.

The series, created by Josh Schwartz, portrays the fictional lives of a group of teenagers and their families residing in Orange County, California. bTV started airing the show on January 12, 2004, and has aired the first three seasons so far. The last one is expected in early 2008.
24 is an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning American television series. Broadcast by Fox Network in the USA and syndicated worldwide, the show first aired on November 6, 2001. There have been six seasons of 24 produced. On May 15, 2007, it was confirmed that FOX has ordered seventh and eighth seasons, with the seventh planned to begin airing in January 2008. bTV started airing the show on January 10, 2002, and aired the first three seasons.
Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama series, created by Marc Cherry. The setting of the show is the street of Wisteria Lane in the fictional American town of Fairview. It follows the lives of a group of women, seen through the eyes of their dead neighbour, as they work through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their — at the surface — beautiful suburban neighbourhood. Since its premiere on ABC on October 3, 2004, the show has been well received by the critics as well as the audience. The show is a multiple Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award winner, and in April 2007 it was reported to be the most popular show in its demographic worldwide. bTV airs the show since February 14, 2005 and has shown the first two seasons, with the third expected in the end of 2007.
Grey's Anatomy is an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning American primetime television medical drama. It debuted on ABC on March 27, 2005. The series revolves around Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), who began in the show as a surgical intern at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. bTV started broadcasting the show on June 1, 2006, and currently airs the third season on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.
Monk is an Emmy Award winning television show about the private detective Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub), afflicted by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and multiple phobias. Monk began airing on July 12, 2002 on the USA Network. The sixth season of Monk debuted on July 13, 2007. bTV started airing the show on January 3, 2007, and has already shown the first four seasons.
The 4400 is a science fiction television program produced by CBS Paramount Network Television. The show was created and written by Scott Peters and Rene Echevarria, and stars Joel Gretsch and Jacqueline McKenzie. In the pilot episode, what is originally thought to be a comet deposits a group of exactly 4400 people at Highland Beach, in the Cascade Range foothills near Mount Rainier, Washington. All of the 4400 disappeared at various times starting in 1946. After their return, none have aged, all are disoriented, and remember nothing between the time of their disappearance and their return. The first season premiered on bTV on August 12, 2007.

It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, and produced by Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane. bTV showed all 236 episodes, and the series finale was aired on July 30, 2004.
Malcolm in the Middle is a seven-time Emmy-winning, one-time Grammy-winning and seven-time Golden Globe-nominated American sitcom created by Linwood Boomer for the Fox Network. The series was first broadcast on January 9, 2000, and ended its six-and-a-half-year run on May 14, 2006, after seven seasons. In Bulgaria, the first six seasons were aired on bTV and the seventh, last season was shown on Fox Life.

Slavi's Show is a long-running Bulgarian evening talk show aired every workday on bTV from 22:30 to 23:30 EET and hosted by Slavi Trifonov. The show started on November 27, 2000 and is currently having its eight season. The programme blends elements of dancing, talk show, cabaret, live music, theatre, stand-up comedy and even talent contest. It has a female dancing group, Magadans, its own music band, Ku-Ku Band and a company of actors. During its first years Slavi's Show was the most popular Bulgarian TV programme, with every episode being watched by around 1.5 million of the country's total population of 7.3 million: a remarkable achievement extending bTV's prime time to include the late-night show as well.
