'''Sidcup Art College''' was an art college in Sidcup, London_Borough_of_Bexley (an outer suburb of Greater_London near Kent), England.
One of the college's most famous students was Keith_Richards of The_Rolling_Stones. Richards became friends with Mick_Jagger at the time, sharing a mutual interest in American Blues_music. They met on a train in 1961 when Richards was in his third and final year at Sidcup, while Jagger was in his first year at the London_School_of_Economics. Richards was expelled from the College but an early version of The Rolling Stones played there on 12_December 1962. The line-up was Jagger, Richards, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart ("Stu"), Ricky_Fenson and Tony_Chapman.
The_Pretty_Things, one of Britain's early R&B; bands, was formed at the College in September 1963, including Dick_Taylor, a former bassist with the Stones who became an art student at Sidcup.
The College has recently been demolished to make way for a large modern Supermarket.
