Jonas Armstrong (born 1 January 1981.[1] ) is an Irish actor, best known for his appearances on British television. He is currently playing the title role in the BBC One drama series Robin Hood, his highest-profile role to date.

Biography
He was born in Dublin, Ireland but raised in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, England. He was educated at Arnold School in Blackpool, England, and while a student there, took part in many school productions led by drama director Colin Snell.
Armstrong graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2003, where he performed in productions including Twelfth Night, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Crucible and Ulysses. Armstrong has a (The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat) Certificate in stage combat.
