Gene Handley
Eugene Louis (Gene) Handley (born November 25, 1914 in Kennett, Missouri) is a former backup infielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1946-47. Handley batted and threw right handed. He is the younger brother of Lee Handley.
In a two-season career, Handley was a .252 hitter (86-for-341) with 10 doubles, six triples, 41 runs, 29 RBI, and nine stolen bases without home runs in 125 games played.
Gene left the playing field to later become a scout for the Chicago Cubs. He remained active in that capacity into his 80s.
As of February 2007, Handley (92) is recognized as one of the oldest living MLB players.
