In Singapore, the '''Ministry of Transport''' (MOT; Chinese: 交通部, Pinyin: ''Jiāo tōng bù'') is a governmental ministry that administers and regulates land, sea and air transportation within the republic’s jurisdiction. Currently, the ministry regulates and commissions four individual government statutory boards: the Civil_Aviation_Authority_of_Singapore (CAAS), the Land_Transport_Authority (LTA), the Maritime_and_Port_Authority_of_Singapore (MPA) and the Public_Transport_Council (PTC), which implement the ministry’s policies and tactical directions. MOT also regulates the Air_Accident_Investigation_Bureau of Singapore (AAIB).
Under the tenure of the ministry, Singapore’s transportation system has developed into one the world’s most refined, a complex and overall efficient system. The ministry is partitioned into four divisions and is run by a staff of about 70 at all times.
MOT was awarded the ISO_9002 certification on 19_June 2000 for organisational excellence; it was also the recipient of the People Developer Award in October 2001 and it achieved Singapore Quality Class status in October 2003.
