'''Plainfield''' is a village located in Waushara_County,_Wisconsin. It is notorious for the 1950s Cannibal/Necrophile Ed_Gein murder case. The village is located almost entirely within the Town of Plainfield. A tiny portion extends into adjacent Town of Oasis.

According to the United_States_Census_Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

As of the Census{{GR|2}} of 2000, there are 899 people, 342 households, and 230 families residing in the village. The Population_density is 267.0/km² (692.9/mi²). There are 342 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.3% are married couples living together, 12.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% are non-families. 28.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.19.
