'''Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz''' (born December_20, 1959 in Gorzów_Wielkopolski) is a Polish politician, prime minister since 31_October 2005. He is a member of the Law_and_Justice Party (''Prawo i Sprawiedliwość'', ''PiS'').
Marcinkiewicz studied Physics at Wrocław_University. He worked as an elementary school teacher and school director in his hometown of Gorzów. In 1992, he became a State Secretary (formal name for deputy minister) in the Ministry of National Education. From 1999 to 2000, he was the cabinet chief for prime minister Jerzy_Buzek. He was also a member of the Solidarity movement and editor of underground press materials in the 1980s.
He is married and has four children. His surprising career boost is apparently due to party chairman Jarosław_Kaczyński renouncing his previously predicted stand for the PM post in order not to affect the Presidential election prospects of his twin brother Lech.
